We’ve often been asked to extend Buzzword support to Firefox on Linux. As we’ve said before, Linux is an important platform for Buzzword, and the feedback we’ve received has only strengthened that impression. So, we’ve done some of the preliminary work required to get Buzzword running on Linux.
The basics have already been tested and appear to work. But we’re interested in giving it more of a workout, and this is where we could use help from any intrepid Buzzword users who also run Linux.
The current version, Preview 5, has preliminary support for Linux. Give it a spin, and let us know what you find. (If you’re not a Buzzword user, please go to www.virtub.com/signup for instructions on getting an account.)
You will need to change your Firefox preferences in order for copy/paste to work. In Firefox:
1. Go to Edit->Preferences ->Content ->Advanced
2. Check Raise or lower windows
Give it a spin, and let us know what you find. Send any comments, bugs, etc. to feedback @ virtub.com. Please let us know what your setup is, e.g. version of Linux, version of Firefox, any extensions in use, and other details of your setup you think are important.
One final note: while we are making efforts to support Linux/Firefox, until we learn more from real world experience, we unfortunately can’t guarantee this platform will be supported for the next public release.
Thanks in advance for your help in testing – it will make a difference!
