Buzzword Documents for the Whole World

Here at Buzzword Central, we're really excited about the extended sharing capability we added in the latest release. In case you haven't heard, Buzzword now enables its authors to make their documents accessible by anyone, with or without a Buzzword account, whether or not the others have signed in.

We call these open access documents, and we hope it will not only make Buzzword documents more ubiquitous, but will make sharing of documents easier. Especially in those cases where you have 20 or more people with whom you want to share a document (and the contents aren't particularly sensitive), you can now just send them the URL to an open access doc and they can read it directly.

So here's a little experiment in which you can view this blog entry in Buzzword...

Definitely a step forward and an improvement for sharing! I still would like to see the documents be embeddable as pdf/flash paper objects right on a web page (not in an iframe with the whole buzzword web page -- just the final document) like acrobat.com files can be. Having the ability to have the actual deployed document be collaborated on and updated within buzzzword, with approved changes immediately reflected in the embedded copies would be a major step towards replacing 90% of what I use CMS systems for.... and would be a whole new world for syndicating articles and blog postings, etc.

A slight improvement though, would be if the others viewing the document would able to collaborate as reviewers without having to sign in.
