The Wisdom of Crowds

From wikipedia:
“The Wisdom of Crowds: Why the Many Are Smarter Than the Few and How Collective Wisdom Shapes Business, Economies, Societies and Nations … is a book written by James Surowiecki about the aggregation of information in groups, resulting in decisions that, he argues, are often better than could have been made by any single member of the group.”

The Acrobat.com Ideas site (http://ideas.acrobat.com) is available now for YOUR ideas, your comments and, very importantly, your VOTES. This is an experiment for us: a new way of gathering ideas, getting feedback on the ideas, and letting you tell us which are the ideas most important to you. Will this be effective? Inspirational? Yes. Absolutely. Please help us explore by adding your ideas. And vote early and often.

One of the basic tenets here at Adobe is: good ideas come from everywhere in the company. John Warnock, Chairman and Founder, put this in motion 25+ years ago – and it’s still going strong. And, with the Web, it’s our belief that good ideas come from the people who use our software, wherever they are. We’re asking for your wisdom to help us understand what’s important to you and what you’d like to see us design and develop next.

Bright Idea (www.brightidea.com) has been our partner in creating the Ideas site. Their product, WebStorm, provides the base technology. Many thanks to the team at Bright Idea for their ideas, work and a great product.

So, let us know what you think – your ideas, your comments and your votes for the features you want. Thanks.

I’m sure my professor in college must have read this very passage. We thought he was a great thinker. Now I find he really was. To have read this and passed it on to us, I think proves my point.

  2. The one thing MixedInk.com has over Buzzword is a system of being able to rate and vote on entries.

God, if I could pay to have this feature in Buzzword, I would.
