Amy Wang, SendNow Product Manager

Before we all get caught up in the hustle and bustle of the holiday season, I wanted to chime in here and provide a product manager perspective on our new Adobe SendNow service. And as you put together your gift buying list this year, perhaps I can convince you to give yourself the gift of hassle free sending. Okay, we admit Adobe SendNow may not be the right solution for shipping that dollhouse or action figure gift to your niece and nephew in Ohio, but it may just be the perfect way for you to get that important presentation to your client or a contract over to your loan agent that was supposed to have gone out yesterday.

Over the past year, the Adobe SendNow team has talked to many users about what it is with their current processes and tools that irk them and keep them from efficiently getting work done. We found that most of you are using email attachments, overnight mail services, and FTP to exchange large or important files with your clients, vendors, and partners. But with these options, you complain of bounced emails, clogged inboxes, high costs of delivery, or lack of visibility to what is going on with your files.

We heard of many workplace scenarios that necessitate file exchange with people outside the firewall. We have met the account manager at an advertising agency who sends project plans and design proofs to his client for review under tight deadlines. There is also the architect who sends blueprints to real estate developers. We have talked to the salesperson who needs to get critical proposals out to customers for sign-off. And we have chatted with an HR manager who regularly delivers large spreadsheets to her staffing vendor.

With Adobe SendNow, our goal is to provide a hassle-free way to get files from one place to another securely and reliably from wherever you are. Your files are hosted in the cloud so from a web browser on any computer you can send and track your files and your recipients can download your files. You are in the driver seat because you control how long your files available for download. Your files are also virus scanned to ensure an optimal and virus free experience. And you know at any given time who has downloaded your files, saving you the headache of wondering if your prospective client has read your marketing brochure or if you need to chase down those key stakeholders to find out if they have received the consulting report you spent weeks putting together. And get this: you can send any number of files in a month for less than the cost of mailing a single FedEx overnight envelope. With all of these benefits bundled up in a subscription of Adobe SendNow, we like to think that we can also help reduce stress levels, giving our users peace of mind when it comes to sending, receiving, and tracking files. This gives you back time to get real project work done. So breathe a deep sigh of relief and let us know if you have thoughts to share about Adobe SendNow. We’d love to hear from you at sendnow_feedback@acrobat.com.
