We all knew this day would come, and it’s finally here: the day the Acrobat.com blog heads back to the home farm, into the welcoming pages of our mother product. Yes, that’s right: we’re joining forces with the Acrobat blog! The way we see it, we’re all one big family: Acrobat and the online services, working together to help you and your team work together. That being the case, it’s time to round up the ducklings and bring all of our future posts about the Acrobat.com services to roost at the Acrobat blog; you’ll find us quacking contentedly over there about each of these services within the larger context of events and announcements for all of Acrobat. This way, you can get all your Acrobat-related information in one place. Just follow us over to the Acrobat blog and subscribe to our feed for the same fresh fodder all about the happy Acrobat family.
Earlier this year, we rolled out the Adobe CreatePDF application for your Android devices. Now, those of you with iPads, iPhones, and iPod Touch devices will rejoice at the news: If you bring your iPad with you anywhere you go, you now have the power to create, view and share rich, high-quality PDF files from wherever you are, whether or not you’re near a computer. No iPad? No problem. You can just download the app to your iPhone or iPod Touch and use whichever device you like. Take a look at this video to see a quick demo of the app on an iPad:

Head on over to the iTunes App Store today to download the application for your iOS device – and then leave us a comment below to let us know how you like it! To go straight to the app store, just click here.
Happy Monday, everyone! Today we’re rolling out a new application to help you create your PDF files on the go on your Android device. The video here shows the application in action on a Motorola XOOM, but it works like a dream on your phone or other Android tablets as well. Check it out!
At $9.99 for unlimited conversions, this app is a steal; it’s not the same as a subscription to the CreatePDF service, but it’s a great supplement for those of you who have to work from the road and want a quick and easy way to create and store PDF files on your phone or tablet. Let us know what you think!

By now, you’ve had time to check out Adobe CreatePDF and see what it can do—namely, create PDF files, combine files into a single PDF, and even print to PDF from your desktop applications. By now, therefore, you’ve surely noticed that Acrobat.com is feeling a bit neglected; while you’re still happily sharing your workspaces and collaborating on documents with Tables and Buzzword (and we’re sure that you are), it’s been a while since you’ve used the Acrobat.com service for creating your PDF files. Both of these services—Adobe CreatePDF and Acrobat.com—allow you to make PDF files from your documents; so how can you choose between them? The short answer: You don’t have to! Use them both! The longer answer… well, read on and see.

By this time, let’s assume that you’ve already gone to see what all the fuss is about over Adobe CreatePDF. (What’s that? You haven’t seen it yet? You rascal! Read no further and hustle over there now! And then come back and read the rest of this post.) Even if you still haven’t seen the works over at CreatePDF, you can probably guess that the service is primarily for – well, creating PDF files. CreatePDF can certainly do that, and can do it well, if we do say so ourselves. Did you know, however, that there’s more?
David Mankin – trainer, blogger, community member and Adobe Certified Expert – recently wrote a very nice summary of the new Adobe CreatePDF online service on his Acrobatix! blog. In the article, David gives an overview of the new services, what you can do with them, and a nice use case for CreatePDF, one that’s applicable even if you are already using Acrobat desktop software.
Now suppose you are away from your computer, and you find yourself at someone else’s machine, or you have a PC that does NOT have Acrobat Professional installed. You need to produce a PDF on the spot, but without your Adobe PDF print driver at hand, you’re stuck. .. or are you?…….I believe this is more than reasonable if you will be at various computers throughout your schedule, and Acrobat Pro is not always at hand. Remember, you can log in to the service from ANY machine with web access and a browser!
Thanks for a nice write-up, David! And if you aren’t doing so already, I strongly suggest checking out the great Acrobat and Acrobat.com tips on David’s blog.
Ladies and gentlemen, the moment we’ve all been waiting for…
Our new Adobe SendNow and CreatePDF online services are now live!
For all of you who have struggled in vain to send each other emails with cumbersome file attachments; for all of you who have been wishing for an easy way to not just create but also combine high-quality PDF files; and for all of you who have read our teaser posts on SendNow and CreatePDF…THEY’RE HERE! Starting today, when you go to the home pages for Acrobat.com, SendNow or CreatePDF, you’ll have these new services at your fingertips for sending those pesky large files to anyone with a valid email address, and for creating and combining PDF files quickly and easily.
We’ll post more details about these services very soon; but right now, we’d like you to read more about their release over on the Acrobat team blog while we go download the CreatePDF desktop printer and send and track a bunch of files (just because we know how fantastic it is to do so in such an easy way). Otherwise, run – don’t walk – over to the Acrobat.com, SendNow or CreatePDF home pages and get all the details on what these new technologies can do for you.
Thrilled. Excited. Elated. Overjoyed. Enthusiastic. All words we could use to describe how everyone on the Acrobat Solutions team feels about the announcement today of two new online services: Adobe SendNow for exchanging and tracking documents online, and Adobe CreatePDF, our new online PDF creation and combining service, along with the powerful desktop duo of Adobe Acrobat X and Adobe Reader X.
As our world becomes more connected, the need to be able to exchange documents quickly – and retrieve and view those files reliably no matter where we are – is critical to what we do. But even though we have access to great technology like Adobe SendNow and Adobe CreatePDF, what we hear from you is that the technology should be simple to use without fuss. Let’s face it: I, you and all those we work and live with are busier than ever (for example, I’m writing this at 11pm while my family sleeps). You want – no, need – to focus on the task at hand and get your work done. These releases from Adobe will help you achieve that, and they will all be available for you soon.
Stay tuned for more information, sneak peeks, availability and updates here. In the meantime, jump over to the official release announcement on the Acrobat family blog to find out more.
Welcome to the next generation.
It’s a busy day for us in the Acrobat family, and we are proud to announce an all new service for easy, online PDF creation from any desktop computer called Adobe CreatePDF. Although we have had an online PDF creation service available before, this one has been redesigned to simplify the process of turning your files into a high-quality PDF document, while allowing you to do more than before.
How is that so, you ask? Well, we can only give you a little sneak peek, but here’s how…
Adobe CreatePDF will let you do more than just convert your Office documents, images and other supported files into an Adobe PDF from your web browser. You will also be able to combine documents into a single PDF file, and if you are using Microsoft Windows, you will be able to install a special printer driver that will allow you to create a PDF file online from any application that can print. Now that’s clever.
And within Adobe Reader X, a new Share pane provides a connection to the online Adobe CreatePDF service, making it easy to create a document that you know others will be able to view consistently.
Want to know more? You’ll have to sit tight for a little longer until we launch the service very soon. In the meantime, take a look at the information on the Acrobat family blog, follow us on Twitter and become part of the community at AcrobatUsers.com.
Raise your hand if you knew Acrobat.com allows you to create PDF files, with the first 5 documents coming for free. You didn’t? Well, go ahead and try it out. And it’s not just Microsoft Word documents that can be converted – there are many other file types we support. If you’d like a jump start on conversion, check out this tutorial on acrobatusers.com.
As your file is being converted by our service, and not on your own computer, there are a few things that need to be considered to ensure that the PDF file creation process goes as smoothly as possible. We know you have 52 other things to do before the end of the day, so I hope these tips help you get that important document converted to Adobe PDF quickly and reliably using Acrobat.com.
