Coming Soon: “Ask The Xpert” Twitterviews and win free Acrobat X!
Courtney Brigham
With all the great questions you have been asking about Acrobat here and via Twitter, we wanted to dedicate some time to answer your questions with a new Twitterview Q&A series we are launching. The first kicks off next week: “Ask The Xpert,” on Tuesday, January 25 from 10 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. Pacific, our hosts are the Acrobat team’s own Chris French and Dave Stromfeld.
What are Twitterviews? It’s simply an interview conducted in Twitter, where you are the interviewer, and our special guests will answer your Acrobat product-related questions. Are you wondering about how to use Action Wizard? Curious about creating PDF Portfolios? It’s fair game here. We have a dedicated hashtag, #Acroview, that you can use when asking your questions in our Twitter page (@Acrobat).
As an added incentive, all users who ask a question for Tuesday’s Twitterview will be entered into a random drawing to win a free copy of Acrobat X Pro! You can even start right now by asking your question in a comment on this blog post. Make sure to include your Twitter handle if you have one, as we will be announcing the winner at the end of our Twitterview on January 25 via the @Acrobat handle. So mark your calendars and join us, Tuesday from 10 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. Pacific – you won’t be sorry!
Here’s a little bit about Chris and Dave:
Chris French is a Senior Product Manager who’s worked on Acrobat and Reader versions 9 and X since joining Adobe in 2007. For Acrobat X, he managed the redesign of the new user interface, production and of the new Acrobat X Suite, and IT deployment improvements. Prior to joining Adobe, Chris was a Product Manager for two successful SAAS startups providing on-demand collaboration services to the building and cellular industries. When he’s not talking to customers or exploring new uses for PDF Chris can be found down the street at the Shark Tank cheering on his team in Teal or helping his wife to keep up with his two kid’s social schedules.
Dave Stromfeld is a Senior Product Manager who’s worked on Acrobat, Reader and Acrobat.com since 2001. During his career, he’s overseen such diverse areas as Forms, Search, Installation and Deployment, Redaction, Beta Programs and e-Commerce. He’s currently sitting at his computer right now trying to think of the next cool feature. Prior to Adobe, he sold wine and worked in a bank. He enjoys trying to get more Americans to care about soccer (usually unsuccessfully) and is addicted to the Tootsie Rolls in the Adobe candy jar. He can be followed on Twitter at @acro_dave.
Stay tuned here for more announcements about future “Ask The Xperts,” which will feature Acrobat luminaries ranging from book authors to PDF gurus to members of our product team!

Lightroom 3 has the ability to create an interactive web page to showcase photos and upload it to display online, and I believe Encore CS5 also has the ability to create a web page as if it were a DVD menu… does Acrobat X have the ability to create an interactive document that would work to display as a website online?
I use Adobe Acrobat Pro 9. Questions:)
* When you open the “Pages” thumbnail view on the left of a document, then try stretching it so you can see two columns of thumbnails, the last page/row of an odd numbered document never appears (after the thumbnails reach the end of the page). Is this fixed in the latest version? For example, open a 17 page document on the Pages thumbnails view and try find page 17.
* Also, will the Pages leftmenu have a feature (like a sliding scale) at some point to expand the size of thumbnails? This would be handy if you are moving pages around, but can’t see the pages too well because they are too small print. Or reversely, trying to move many pages around is difficult when you can only see so many pages at one time, so if they could be smaller too, or easier to move around, that might also be helpful.
* Does Adobe intend to create a x64 version of Acrobat?
* Will Acrobat have a feature whereby after OCR’ing, the hidden text can be viewed and edited or cleaned up? What about a feature where you can flip between layers of image or text?
* I have a need of being able to work with more than one PDF at a time, if say one PDF is OCR’ing, will there be an update at some point whereby I can open or print another document while the first is being OCR’ed?
* I sometimes scan in pages of books and they often have shadows or black portions on the margins. I then clean these up in either Photoshop or the redaction method. Has Adobe Acrobat team considered a feature for automatically getting rid of useless black from scanning?
what is the difference between these program strings?

Will all text in PDFs be able to be translated into text in a Word document using Acrobat X Pro, or does it depend on how it was originally encoded? For example, if a PDF is created by scanning a document that includes text, will it be able to be converted into a Word document with editable and searchable text? How about an Illustrator document whose text has been rasterized? Thanks!

The comment-function seems to be renewed. Is it now possible to send answer-comments with the adobe reader via e-mail (send-back-button)?
Thanks!
I own a copy of Acrobat 9 Pro, why do I need to upgrade?
Or is it possible to access the extended reader rights management?
greetz!
I am using Adobe Acrobat 9′s redaction feature to delete parts of a scanned image, but it doesn’t always redact all the way to the edge. It leaves a small line of pixels up top. Why is that? To handle I have to open the page in Photoshop, edit and save – unwanted extra steps.
Adobe Bridge CS5 has a cool Review Mode which is handy in flipping through PDF docs (even though you can’t increase the view size), will Adobe Acrobat implement a similar fast review mode for PDFs?
On email review, is there a shortcut for Set Status > Review > Accept (in the comments window)?

Hi!
Will it be possible to use dynamic pdfs on apple products? And when?
Thanks,

Is there any movement towards putting extract bookmarks in a new Version of Acrobat. Rick Borstein posted a great sequence which the 1000 or so lawyers I support love. It’s probably the most common question I get asked supporting Acrobat
