Destination: Acrobat

Invisible_Ride_Logo

This summer nearly 45 percent of Americans will take a well-deserved vacation. While work doesn’t stop just because you are out of the office, you can take advantage of travel time to wrap up last minute to-do’s, so you can spend more time enjoying your final destination (we’re hoping a nice, sunny beach).  To help you prep for your upcoming vacation, here are some ways to easily power through your work remotely. Just don’t forget to unplug and relax once you’ve arrived.

When you subscribe to Adobe Acrobat XI Pro, you can access online services, such as Acrobat.com, that make it easier to work anywhere. You’ll never be without the files you need or the tools to edit them with the new features available on your mobile device:

  • Quickly convert any document, image, or scan into a PDF file that anyone can open and view using free Adobe Reader.
  • Save PDFs as Microsoft Office files. Preserve fonts, formatting, and layouts, too.
  • Save documents, images, and PDFs on Acrobat.com. Access and share them from anywhere.
  • In a browser, merge and organize multiple documents, spreadsheets, web pages, and more in a single PDF that’s easy to share.

Activate a free Acrobat.com account and relax on time spent away from the office knowing you can access PDFs and other documents you need from your mobile device if a work emergency may pop-up.  Acrobat.com makes it simple to search, filter, and sort your files so you can find what you’re looking for faster to save more time for the beach or whatever destination you’re in.

Does your company use SharePoint? Improved SharePoint integration gives you better control when working with shared PDF documents stored on a SharePoint server.  Access files stored online with Microsoft Office 365 and extend access to SharePoint files to Mac OS in addition to Windows devices. Support for advanced metadata types also lets you better categorize documents.

Let Acrobat ease the pain of working remotely. Free up more time with our seamless, time-saving functions to spend more time with the people you love, in the places you love. Don’t forget, you can always access PDFs on our Reader Mobile App for Android or iOS devices. It’s free, it’s easy, and it’s mobile.

Adobe Reader: The Perfect Study Tool for Finals Week

reader blog 1

College students know all too well what time of year is fast approaching – Finals Week! Since we can’t buy each and every one of you a mega-sized cup of your caffeinated-beverage-of-choice for those imminent all-night study sessions, we thought, why not try to help you avoid all-nighters altogether?  Oh, who are we kidding – there’s nothing we can do to help you avoid those. But we can help you avoid unnecessary stress!  Here’s a list of Adobe Reader tips and tricks we compiled to help you sort through those lengthy PDFs your professors assigned you to read over the course of the semester. And remember, Adobe Reader is a free service, so you can save your money for … well, realistically, more coffee.

  1. The Read Aloud Function- Are your eyes zapped or are you too tired to actually read what y
    ou were assigned? Let Reader read your PDFs for you. Or even better, if you turn any of your final papers into a PDF, have Reader proofread it using the read aloud function to pick up on any grammatical errors.
  2. The Highlighter Tool- Just like you would in any text book, highlight important phrases, sentences or definitions to easily refer back to so you’re not wasting time searching through text for the important stuff.
  3. The Typewriter Tool- Quickly add comments to your PDF for note taking with Reader’s Typewriter tool. Just select the Add Text Comment tool from the Comments panel, click the Add Text Comment tool, click the page where you want to add your text, and type away.
  4. The Comments Tool- If you’re working on a group project, the comment tool might be the better way to go. It makes collaboration much easier because there is no need to print and mark up.
  5. Reader for Mobile- Don’t be confined to the library, take your files with you wherever you go to maximize your study hours.

With these tools, there’s no need to hit the panic button when you see a 150-page PDF file.  Even better, these are just a few of the tools Reader offers for its users. Check them all out here.  Most importantly—good luck with finals! We know you’ll ace them all with Adobe Reader in your back pocket.

Achieving productivity in a mobile world: How to stay on top of your work while in constant motion

Be honest with yourself for a minute: how many intelligent devices do you own? Probably several: A desktop computer, a laptop or both; a phone, a tablet, perhaps a couple of each; and yes, you’ve got one of those microwaves that reads you the news every morning (let’s not go there right now). Now, how many different apps do you have that count as a news source, a reading platform, a file storage platform, or an authoring or content-creating platform? A zillion. (For the sake of playing along, I just counted up the apps on my iPhone, and I’ve got – really – 21 different apps that serve to deliver or store content for me. That’s not including the apps I’ve got on my Android tablet, let alone the vast world that opens up to me when I’m at my laptop.)

The fact is, most of us in this tech-crazy, content consuming world have many, many different ways to store, save, and savor our information, and we can do it from just about anywhere with a decent wireless or WiFi signal. The mobile platforms we use daily (phone, tablet, laptop) might allow us to get more work done than ever before, because we can do our work in a cab, on a train, or standing in line waiting for our next gadget to be released. But what if we could do our work without subscribing to, say, 21 different applications? What if there was a simple system that we could use to get actual, bona fide work done without taking a voice memo to transcribe later on, or writing an email reminder to ourselves on a tiny keyboard?

Enter Adobe’s Document Services.

We’ve been working maniacally back here at the mothership to support a mobile mode of working that constitutes getting real work done: real contracts getting signed, real forms being filled and sent, real comments made on digital documents – no matter where you are. With Adobe’s Document Services, such as Adobe EchoSign, Adobe FormsCentral, and the Acrobat.com cloud storage system, you can hit the road with nothing but your favorite tablet and be sure that you won’t miss a deal for having left your laptop at home. Here’s just one example: Adobe EchoSign’s mobile app lets you upload documents and send them off to be signed; you can even use the Adobe Reader application to fill out a form and apply your signature to a PDF document before you send it off for another signature with the EchoSign app. Even better, your account activity is tracked even when you’re on a mobile device so no information about the transaction is lost; when you sign into your account from another computer, you’ll see all of your activity has been securely transcribed for your records.

Okay, great, you’re saying; signatures on mobile devices sound awesome. But what if you’ve got a 150-page PDF document that you’re reading or reviewing in Adobe Reader on your laptop, and you’ve suddenly got to leave the house before you’re done reading? No problem: save the document to your Acrobat.com account, and access it from your phone while you’re on the bus to wherever you’re going; when you open the document from Acrobat.com, your place has been saved and you can pick up right where you left off while in transit.

We know how fast things move these days, and we know how fast you’re moving, too; Adobe’s Document Services and mobile applications help you stay on top of things even when you’re only at your desk for 30 minutes a day. Download the free Adobe Reader app for iOS and Android devices, and see how much more efficient you become next time you’re sitting in a waiting room or in a coffee shop. We think you may even be able to delete some of those extra apps.

Adobe EchoSign eSignature App for iOS Devices Now Even Better

Late last year, Adobe EchoSign offered its first app for free download on the iTunes App Store. The release let iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch users access their EchoSign accounts on their mobile devices with the same protections available on the Adobe EchoSign Web service. Today, we make that app even better.

Our iOS application continues to make it easy and legally binding to get documents signed digitally in minutes, rather than the days or weeks it might otherwise take via paper document delivery. Users have reported the value of getting documents signed in person via their iPads and of sending documents from their EchoSign libraries, photo albums, email attachments and other applications. As of today, iOS users will also be able to:

  1. Integrate with cloud-based document storage systems such as Box and Dropbox;
  2. Save frequently used documents locally to the device and send these saved documents for signature;
  3. Integrate with Box OneCloud’s mobile application to allow the Box iOS app to send documents directly to the EchoSign app;
  4. Open documents in outside applications;
  5. Print documents straight from the mobile device; and
  6. Preview documents before sending them out for signature.

Business today is a more mobile pursuit than ever before, and teams are eager to leverage cloud-based, mobile-enabled tools to increase efficiency and close more deals – faster. Adobe EchoSign for iOS devices makes it easier for mobile workforces to incorporate Web contracting into their business activities, increasing productivity.

The latest Adobe EchoSign for iOS is available now. Download the app here.
