According to the Wall Street Journal, conferences and trade shows face a tough economy. Yet when we recently updated our events page on the Adobe Developer Connection, we had no trouble finding conferences taking place over the coming months.

We update our events page to show you what trade shows, conferences, and e-seminars are happening this year. We get referrals either from our developer evangelists or by searching various websites ourselves. If you know of a relevant must-attend event coming up that you think other developers should know about, please post a comment about it below.

Get a load of new Fireworks CS4 material

Adobe Creative Suite 4 shipped today, and along with it the Adobe Developer Connection posted a lot of new and updated content to help people understand what’s in CS4, how it works, and why it’s important to know about.

Check out the Fireworks Developer Center to see what’s new about this “ultimate tool for creating and manipulating graphics for the web,” as product manager Rick Jones puts it. Here he shows off PDF export, Fireworks type handling, and CSS export:

Seeking 2008 MAX Awards: Submit or nominate a project today


The annual Adobe MAX Awards recognizes the best-of-the-best uses of Adobe software for creating engaging experiences. Don’t miss this chance to showcase your work in front of industry and technology leaders from around the world at MAX 2008.

Nominate your project in any of six categories: advertising and branding, enterprise, mobility and devices, public sector, RIA, and video — and enter for a chance to win a prestigious MAX Award. Enter your submission today or nominate a colleague‘s project for consideration.

The deadline to nominate a project is Monday, August 25, 2008. The deadline to submit your own project is Friday, September 5, 2008. Winners will be announced live at Adobe MAX North America this November in San Francisco. Winners may also be recognized at each of the three international MAX conferences with the coveted People’s Choice Award.
