Feature Request: Flash Player Rendering API

Today, Ted Patrick submitted a feature request (FP-4218) to the public bug database requesting enhancements to the Flash rendering API.
He starts with a simple question: “What if developers could have programmatic control rendering?” and submits two proposals to give the developer more control over when their assets get rendered.
I know this high on the list of feature requests for many of the Flash game developers that we talk to, so what do you think? Read Ted’s original blog post then head over to the bug database to vote and submit your comments.

Flash Gaming Summit 2010 is Today!

Flash Gaming Summit We’re really excited to be the premier sponsor for the 2010 Flash Gaming Summit today in San Francisco. The fine folks at Mochi Media have a great event planned, even bigger than last year!
Be sure to catch our panel, “Adobe Tools and Services for Flash Games” at 11am PST. Adobe representatives will also be around at the sponsor tables so be sure to come by and say “Hi!”. We’ll have a selection of mobile phones running Flash Player 10.1 and AIR for you to see in person.
We’ve also brought along the Flash Arcade machine with us and have it loaded up with the nominees for this year’s Mochi’s.
The official twitter account to follow along with everything is @fgsummit and the event hashtag is #fgs.
Registrations have sold out but they will streaming the sessions live over Adobe Connect for those of you who can’t make it in person. Everything starts at 8:30am Pacific. There are two tracks this year, so check the program to see what’s happening in what room.

Connect Room 1: ROBERTSON AUDITORIUM
Connect Room 2: FISHER ROOM

We’re looking forward to seeing everyone again this year!
