As university graduates venture into the corporate world, they’re anxious to make their mark. Vineet G., a member of Adobe India’s technical staff, is one of those. He just completed a year with Adobe’s Research Lab after earning a degree in computer science and engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology. During this short time frame, Vineet has made huge strides within the company. He’s been busy innovating and pitching ideas to the management team. Curious about his successful year, Adobe Life met Vineet to learn more about his experiences.

Adobe Life: Why did you choose Adobe and what makes you stay?

Vineet: When I was in college, I had interviewed for an internship with Adobe’s Research Lab and it was a dream come true when I was selected. I was eager to work on something challenging, something interesting, something whacky and I got all that I desired. After successfully completing my internship, I was offered a permanent position here, which I was so thrilled about.

I’m thankful for this wonderful experience as I get an opportunity to work on new product development, and developing features and functionalities based on research findings. The innovation and opportunities that surround me keep me motivated to push even harder. This makes work exciting.

Adobe Life: What is it about technology that excites you?

Vineet: Technology, in my opinion, is the key to innovation. It is amazing to see how technology impacts the world and people. And the mere thought of me being a part of this “force” thrills me.

Adobe Life:  What has been the best part of your career at Adobe so far?

Vineet: It has just been a year since I joined Adobe, and I have 3-patents filed. It humbles me to be a part of such an energetic team. Being the youngest one to present at the 2013 Digital Marketing Summit in front to more than 4,000 people and at the 2013 Tech Summit are experiences that I will remember forever. This is far more than what I expected and I’m glad to be here.

Adobe Life: Who is your role model?

Vineet: My role model is Sachin Tendulkar, an Indian cricketer. Not just because he plays well, but because for more than 20 years he has been dedicated towards what he loves, and that has given him the stature that he has in India. He inspires me to do things that I love and success will follow.

Adobe Life: What is your “word” for the year?

Vineet: My word for the year is “innovate” and to keep on trying new things.

Adobe Life: How would your team describe you?

Vineet: My team is my family. Being the youngest on the team, I am known as the intelligent young kid who is passionate about everything he does.
