Forest Appreciation Day

Chichibu Mountains

In commemoration of Be Green Month at Adobe, on May 10th, the Adobe Japan team held a Forest Appreciation event. In collaboration with the non-profit organization (NPO) “100 years of Chichibu Mountains (Hyakunen Chichibu no Mori)” employees trekked the mountains of Chichibu in the Saitama prefecture.

Employees hiking through the lush green treesIn early 2000, the Takizawa Chichibu Dam was constructed from the boulders and trees in the surrounding mountains. As a result, major deforestation occurred. In an effort to restore the Chichibu mountains, the NPO engaged in restoration through the planting of maple trees in designated plots of land.

Adobe employees hiked up to the reforestation plots to observe and learn about the careful planning, manpower and maintenance required to rebuild a forest.  It was a wonderful day in which the employees renewed their connection with nature and developed a greater appreciation for the people who work to protect it.Almost there
