What’s the secret to a successful second half of the year?
Here at Adobe, we believe that taking time off to recharge is a key part of being successful. Whether employees decide to spend it vacationing with family and friends, relaxing solo, or using the time to volunteer and make an impact, we offer generous time off, and we encourage all our employees to use it. And one of our most beloved benefits here in our U.S offices is our annual summer (and winter!) shutdown, where the company takes a week off to get a much needed break, so that when we return to work, we’re ready to tackle the next challenge. As said by Donna Morris, EVP of Customer and Employee Experience at Adobe, “I find that the collective shutdown provides a shared excitement to return to work and dive back into driving priorities with my team.”
See below to see how some of our employees spent their summer breaks and their thoughts on the benefit.
Just spent a week with my girls in a rustic cottage on the beach. No phone, no tv, no internet. Good chance to rest and reset, before kicking off the second half of this year. Big things are on the horizon.

Grateful to Adobe shutdown for giving us an excuse to go camping for 5 days at one of our favorite spots outside of Yosemite. No cell service, gorgeous scenery, dirt everywhere, lots of time to read, and zero reason not to relax.
– Rachel Egan, Program Manager, Enterprise Demand Marketing
All employees get paid vacation for a week at Adobe. What did I do before Adobe ?? I can get used to this #AdobeLife.
– Lavanya Kettay, Talent Partner
Can’t wait to go paddle boarding in San Diego with my two besties. Thanks for summer shutdown, Adobe! #AdobeLife
