Ask a CS Pro Session – Digital Publishing Suite

On Friday, December 17 we hosted an “Ask a CS Pro” session on Digital Publishing Suite. These online seminars feature pros who know the ins-and-outs of Adobe products and we were lucky to have Chris Converse from Codify Design Studio demonstrate how to create a publication using Digital Publishing Suite tools. He overviewed the latest improvements in the Drop 8 tools from the prerelease program – including what interactive functionality is available through the Overlay Creator panel in InDesign, how to produce a .folio file using the Content Bundler, and how to view that .folio file on iPad or desktop using Content Viewer. If you missed the session, make sure to watch the replay using the link below.

I’m a college student that wants to replace a pile of hard copy textbooks with e-textbooks and read them on a nice little e-reader. Many e-textbooks have DRM protection that apparently requires security accessing software to be downloaded to the e-reader to view the e-textbook. This is easily done for a computer running Windows 7 or on a MAC, but I can’t find an e-reader (most seem to run Android OS) that can do this. To be specific, Blackberry’s new 7″ Playbook looks like a great devise that will do everything I want it to do, if it will allow me to download the DRM accessing software that comes with purchasing the rights to download a DRM protected e-textbook. Do you have a solution for me? School starts back up in 10 days……

Can I buy an ebook through Adobe for my brother-in-law for his iPhone or will it only play on the device that purchases it?
