All these Audition improvements are great and all, but as far as I can see they STILL haven’t added folders to the Files window.

      Hi Ivan,

This is true, but Bins/Folders for organizing session assets is high on the backlog for upcoming releases. As we’re seeing larger and larger sessions being created or imported to Audition, the need to organize the files and clips into reasonable groups is becoming more necessary.

      Thanks.

You can uninstall the old version if you like. And no, the Creative Cloud subscription ensures you always have access to the latest builds with no additional charge.

Great to have this new 2014 version. Thought I said “yes” when first asked to import some workspaces I had set up in the previous Audition CC version, but it doesn’t appear to have happened. How can I try again?

    • durin says:

      Hi Norm,

Workspaces may not import from previous versions due to compatibility issues. However, the changes were minimal with the new version, so manually copying your old workspaces should work. Open your file browser (Finder on OS X, Explorer on Windows) and navigate to the following directory:

      OS X: ~/Library/Preferences/Adobe/Audition/
      Win: /Users//AppData/Roaming/Adobe/Audition

(These locations may be hidden by default on both operating systems. On OS X, open Finder, click GO in the menu, hold down OPTION and click on Library when it displays, and navigate into the Preferences folder. On Windows, you can type %APPDATA% in the address bar, then navigate into the Adobe folder from there.)

Open the “6.0” folder and copy the “Workspaces” folder. Then navigate to the “7.0” folder and paste it there overwriting the old “Workspaces” folder. If your unique workspace does cause an incompatibility with the new version for any reason, you can delete the Workspaces folder and it will be rebuilt to the defaults on the next launch.

    Hey Durin,

Worked perfectly with no obvious incompatibility issues. Thanks so much.
