Great resource for LiveCycle Developers

I just had to post a link to the brand new Tour de LiveCycle AIR application.

Tour de LiveCycle contains over 1,000 pages of content organized into a hierarchical tree that allows navigation to topics that are of interest to the viewer, including tools, services, APIs, user interfaces, architecture, system requirements, and much more. It is a very handy resource if your learning or already using LiveCycle.

Note, there is also a Tour de Flex AIR application that has been out of a while now.

Exciting News for PDF…

Hi There.

So I have finally joined the blogging world and on a day when there is some pretty cool news from Adobe to talk about!

It was a coincidence honestly :-).  I’ll introduce myself properly soon and I’ll be posting regularly with a particular focus on what’s going on in the UK, but for now here is the news…

Adobe to Release PDF for Industry Standardization

Adobe Systems Incorporated (Nasdaq:ADBE) today announced that it intends to release the full Portable Document Format (PDF) 1.7 specification to AIIM, the Enterprise Content Management Association, for the purpose of publication by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO).

You can see the whole release here.

Adobe will release the full PDF 1.7 specification as defined in the PDF Reference Manual (PDF Reference).  This is great news for the whole eco-system that has developed around PDF.  I think it is really great to see this commitment to open standards and I’m sure it will drive a huge amount of innovation around the PDF platform.
