Welcome to the Wonderful World of Hydra
It's about time I got a blog up and running about this wonderful new technology called codename Hydra (henceforth called Hydra in the blog). For those of you don't know, Hydra is an image processing language that we developed here at Adobe to take the pain out of writing effects and filters for your favorite product. Though we haven't officially shipped yet, you can still get your hands on the development toolkit on Adobe Labs to play around with it. On the labs site, you can also take a look at the language and see some of the awesome filters that users have been writing.
For more to get you excited, take a look at our favorite blogger's post on Hydra. John did a wonderful job of explaining why you should try the toolkit.
Alright, that's it for my sales pitch. I promise the upcoming posts will have a much more technical focus.
