I have been asked this question on a regular basis, so I thought I would post how you save a pdf back to Excel. I am going to suggest two different ways. The first is to use the Selection tool that is located next to the Hand tool. Select the Excel data in the pdf and then right-click on the highlighted portion and you will have the option to save as a table or open in a spreadsheet. If the entire pdf was created in excel choose Edit from top menu and choose select all. Then right-click on the highlighted data and you will have the same options.
If the table spans multiple pages, be sure and choose the "continuous" pagination display option before selecting the data.

Hey, I don't know if it is possible, but I am trying to capture some data from a PDF that was NOT created in Excel, but I want to copy it into excel form the PDF. Is there a way to save the PDF in any format that might eventually get me there? Thanks, Gloria

Yes, just use your selection tool as described in this entry and then a Ctrl-C to copy and a Ctrl-V to place into Excel. This will allow you to copy user selected data.

I am trying to copy a pdf multiple page document into an excel worksheet. I have tried the continuous sheet and select all and save as a table in excel. None of the directions are working for multiple pages, it only copies the last page of the document if you select the whole document. I am using adobe 8.0. Can you assist please?

I have selected data and right clicked and there is no option to save into Excel.
