iPods Integrate With BMWs

Apple announces the “first seamless integration of iPod and automobile”. If you own a BMW 3 Series, X3, X5, Z4 Roadster or a Mini, for just $149, you can integrate your iPod with your car. Connect your iPod to your car’s sound system via a cable in the glove box, and not only can you control it with the buttons on the steering wheel, but it will also be powered by the car rather than using its own battery.

Why BMW, and not Jeep?!

Which is a great idea, but I wonder what happens when the next generation iPod comes out with a different style of dock/headphone connecttor which is incompatible with the one built into your car?I would expect the life of my new (and highly imaginary) BMW to be considerably longer than the life of my iPod.

    >Why BMW, and not Jeep?!Deutschland, Deutschland ΓΌber alles :)))Come on, what question is that? Have you ever heard someone calling a Jeep stylish? πŸ˜‰

Ooops, no UTF-8 on markme.com? Anyway, the character with Unicode codepoint 0x00FC (german “ue”) is also part of the ISO-8859-1 charset… strange.Better check the server code πŸ˜‰

Jeeps stylish? Nope.BUT, the nice thing is that, especially in Manhattan where parking is scarce, if a BMW is parked in a spot you like, you can just throw it into 4WD-Low and park ON the BMW!They may look nice on the inside, but to a Wrangler or CJ-7 owner, it’s just a overpriced tuna can! πŸ˜‰

  5. Yeah, the Wrangler rocks!!! I had one in England and it was the most fun I’ve ever had in a car (and I’ve owned lots of cars over the years!).See http://jeepclub.co.uk/reports.cfm?id=11Three of my pictures – the scenery with the rearview mirror showing the Jeep behind, the flat tire (groan) and the two newbies. The muddy green Jeep is mine (T77 OCS) just a few days after I bought her… as my company car πŸ™‚ The license plate was chosen to reflect my birthday 7/7 and my company name (Object Consultancy Services Ltd). I loved that Jeep!

  6. I didn’t know you had a Jeep! Nice! Why did you give it up?Here are pictures of the one I just bought:http://tinyurl.com/2ufhtHaven’t taken it off-road, yet, though. I’m practically too busy to even drive it!
