    Adobe Captivate 5 (ACp)
Reply to this thread If anyone have worked on Adobe captivate 5

Issue:- I have created one Demo in ACp with audio text. After publishing the demo, when I play the demo, Cursor in play bar is not moving as per audio.
    1. When I single click on play button Slide and Audio plays fine but the cursor is not moving with audio.
    2. When I click second time on play, cursor move for the time = Audio time of single slide (slide is ideal for this time)

Due to this cursor problem demo is interrupted

    Thanks in Advance

I’ve just downloaded Adobe Captivate App Packager 3.0 and it does not seem to have the import panel on the right hand side?

    Why is it not there?

In my corporate environment, the AppData\Local\ folder (and SUBfolders) get WIPED each time the user logs off.
    Obviously, that includes:
    AppData\Local\Adobe\Captivate and all it’s subfolders.

Thus, the problem … when I open up Captivate it does not remember any of the files I worked on the previous day and does not remember the custom workspace I set up.

So, Adobe … please tell me there’s an .INI file (or a registry setting) that I can tweak so that Captivate saves this information someplace “permanent” … a folder location that I can specify!!

    HELP!!!

I am using Captivate 6 and occassionally when I publish a project the “playing” version will have “screen lag” where the background will not change but the mouse and text displays will change. The background on the captivate project is correct but when viewed through a web browser I will have 2-3 slides where the background wont show or shows for .2-.3 seconds of the slide.

    Any advice on remedying this?

    Thanks for your help

Have you checked the timeline for any buttons that may be pausing the action?
I ran into this with my first project because I had my back and next buttons set to pause the action after 1 or 2 seconds. Thus, anything that was set to display after that just didn’t show up in the preview or the published version.

Let me know if this works for you.

    Hello,
What is the best way to record a demo in Captivate 5.0 or 7.0 with me a presenter also appearing (Webcam) and talking during the demo. Do I also need Adobe Presenter to do this?
It seems to be designed for PowerPoint but will it also integrate with Captivate 5.0 and 7.0. Any further links to articles or videos, would be greatly appreciated.

    Kind Regards

Captivate 7: imported audio.wav will not autoplay on some slides–most are ok. So on 9 out of 90 slides, the user has to click on slide to get audio to play.

    Hi there,

I’m attempting to record audio to an object, however whenever I try to do so nothing happens. I either right click the object and select ‘record to’ or I select the object go up to the menu and select record from there, but either way everything just freezes – nothing happens. I’ve had no trouble recording audio throughout, but when it comes to the objects it’s just not working. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Is it possible to put question slide with table that has fillable blanks? Like table with 3 columns, first 2 are numbers and in third they must write answer a number as well?
Is it possible to put more sentences and fillable blanks on one question slide?
Is it possible to set another text in question slides for next back submit etc buttons ( translate them to another language) and to save that for future projects?

  16. #18 by debra Turnell on July 10, 2013 - 7:57 pm

    Why: -
The title of the slide, for some reason, is being reported as a button after output. This was noted by my 508 tester, also 3 hyperlinks on slide are notied as buttons when in fact they are labeled text captions with hyperlink. they are not being picked up by JAWS screen reader, idea anyone? I can’t seem to get an answer to this. Thanks in advance.

Using Captivate 6.1. A slide has a hidden video, that is revealed via a click on a clickbox. It plays out, then becomes hidden again. If participant clicks forward, then returns to this slide, the video is showing (but not playing). How to keep it hidden?

My regular computer at work crashed so I loaded it onto a backup computer – Windows 7 – and everything looks fine BUT when I run it first it says some things wont work unless I run as administrator – so I run as administrator – but when I open a project (any project) I cannot see the project I just opened. It is listed as having been opened, tho. What to do?!

I’m using Captivate 5.5 and have published to an MP4 file. Within Captivate, my animation timings are perfect, but in the MP4 file, they are off slightly, more so at the end of the presentation. Any idea what would cause this? I do have a few slides with fade transitions. Could that be causing the animation delay? Again, when I do a preview within Captivate, it looks great, but the MP4 file is off.

The issue is using Adobe Captivate (versions 4+) to simulate Interact processes is that it cannot simulate Alt+ keyboard actions if publishing the content to run in the Internet Explorer web browser. The Captivate file is unable to block reserved IE browser menu Alt+ shortcut keys that are the same as those used in many Interact processes (eg Alt+O for the OK button, Alt+S for the save button, etc.). Please suggest…

Hello, I have a project originally created in 5.5, that I opened and revised, then saved in 6.0. Now it only opens in 6.0 and seems to be publishing with run errors. Does anyone know how I can fix this? If no fix, is there any way for me to go back to 5.5 with the most current version of the project if I saved it as a 6.0 project?

    Created a Quiz.
First five questions are NOT graded ( survey)
Next 25 questions are Graded at ONE point each (25 points)

When I answer all the quiz questions correct I should have 25 points in my quiz result. HOWEVER, it reports the following:

    Maxiumum score: 25 points
    You Scored: 28

How is that possible???????? My score should also be 25

In my course, I am linking to a PDF posted on our that contains additional information. Is there a way to change the location where the hyperlink points to without having a republish the course? I thought the reference would be in the XML file but I cannot find it. This is important as the course testing progresses from TEST, STAGING, to DEV.

I can not see this hidden page in Captivate workspace, it does not show on the TOC. If I publish and run the course from my browser, it does not show this hidden page. Any ideas? I ahve reset TOC numerous times, no help. Opena and closed project and Captivate 5.

How do I move a a master slide into the filmstrip?

  39. #44 by Patricia Ramirez on September 5, 2012 - 10:33 pm

    Hi there,
I am currently working on a Captivate 5 project and have the following question. One of my slides in cptx has a hyperlink to a website that I need to refer attendees to. While the hyperlink works and everything (via a button) the slide moves to the next slide, but I need attendees to finish watching the referenced URL and then come back to the cptx. How do I make the presentation stop on that slide? I have changed the Action to the following: On Enter: continue, On Exit: No action (where before was go to next slide). I thought that would change it and make it stop but it does not. Help please.

    • #45 by Paul Cunningham on September 21, 2012 - 12:15 am

Put a transparent click box on that page, and set it to stop project until user clicks. Put the box up in a corner where the employee wont accidently click it. you will need a button to go to the next page. Or, make the click box the entire size of th slide, and tell the student to click anywhere on page when they have finished the activity.

I am trying to use acrobat.com to report quiz results from a captivate project. I have done everything the book says – quiz preferences, enable reporting, acrobat.com, configured with my info, saved. I originally saved to flash player 9 and went back to flash player 10. When I take the quiz to test, I continuously get a log in error after submitting and logging in with my acrobat log in an password. I even changed my password a couple of times to get it to work. I have had others test and cannot get to work. What could I be doing wrong here?

Is there a way to record audio on multiple slides while manually advaning the slides so the recording is synced where I want?

All the directions seem to indicate adjusting the markers afterwards. I am transitioning from Adobe Presenter, where one may simple record the voice over for all the slides with manual advancement and sync.

I am having issues with black lines in my PUBLISHED files, in particular when I record web-based applications such as Subversion, JIRA, and in-house applications. However, I recorded a quick Microsoft Word recording and noticed black lines on the last slide.

I am recording in automatic mode not full motion recording. I read some comments about black lines on the Articulate Forums dated a few years ago ,”Captivate Full Motion Recording: Dreaded Black Line when published.” I don’t know how to avoid getting these lines.

In Illustrator and/or any other Adobe editing software, is there a way to have split screens? One screen showing image being worked on in size you wish to desire and other in zoom so you can work on detail and view other screen to see results? I find that working in Zoom, the detail seems distorted to me, only to find out that some of it looks rather acceptable. It would reduce a lot of downtime to be able to view while you work. Kind of like doing Dreamweaver AJAX.

Using Captivate 5 – I have to keep my screen size down to 800×600. I want end users to be able to read the content being presented and have it partitioned off on the side in a text caption box. I have Adobe Captivate 5, and I recently upgraded my computer from XP to 7. Captivate worked fine until then. Today when I tried to record the screen, things appeared to work fine until I clicked End and the screen capture slides opened in Captivate. My mouse movements and audio narration are present until the moment I clicked my mouse during the recording, then the frames simply stop. I’ve tried changing settings, opening the program in Administrator mode, updating Captivate, rebooting… nothing has helped. My next step is to uninstall and reinstall, but I don’t hold out much hope for that, either. Can anyone help? I’m an instructional developer, and I depend heavily on Captivate in order to do my job.

Also, If you have multiple Random slides pulling from the same question pool, will Captivate prevent the possibility of pulling the same question twice, is there a way to prevent this from occurring, or must you create an additional pool?

I create online training programs to teach users how to use accounting software. I would like to create practice exercises throughout the training lessons for the users’ to practice and receive feedback. So they would have a short demo for a learning objective and then a practice exercise. Is there a way that I can set it like a quiz but not use quiz slides, just the interactions? I would like them to not only receive feedback while attempting the exercise but also to provide the score at the end of the exercise. Do you have any tutorials that are specific to software simulations and how to set up practice exercises? Thanks
