Migrating from a Presenter Workflow to an #AdobeCaptivate 5 Workflow; The how and why (eSeminar now On Demand)

Is a PowerPoint to Presenter workflow just too limited for you? Most eLearning professionals, trainers and instructional designers quickly realize that a workflow based entirely on PowerPoint is just too narrow in scope to meet the broad needs and interests of authoring online educational content. So how difficult is the transition between the inherently limited PowerPoint to Presenter workflow and the alternative PowerPoint to Adobe Captivate workflow?

But working in Presenter is easy, and the idea of blank pages in lieu of totally auto-magic course generation can seem incredibly alluring. The problem of course is that template driven PPT workflows can very rapidly seem stale, and it’s very conducive to info-dumps rather than learner and activity centered course design. Research tells us that in order to get genuine knowledge transfer (which can often translate to return on investment for the company) we need deeper engagement, deeper learning and ‘buy-in’ from the learners. All of these point to a more powerful workflow, like the one provided in Adobe Captivate.

So what is making the transition really like? What is gained and what is lost? How will it affect your work process and are there hidden advantages to be gained? This week’s eSeminar focused on making this Migration. You can access the on demand recording of the session via the link below.
