Synchronizing Audio and Animation Timings with Adobe Presenter 7

Adobe Presenter is a great tool for creating Flash-based eLearning courses from within Microsoft PowerPoint. You can add animation effects and SWF files along with narration, quizzes, and simulations to transform the drab presentations into interactive multimedia experiences.

If you already have PowerPoint animations, such as flying or dissolving text and images, Presenter converts them seamlessly and displays them in the final presentation exactly as they appear in PowerPoint.

You can even synchronize the narration with animation timings. For example, if you have a slide with bulleted text items that fly in, or you have images that you want to appear in sync with the narration, you can adjust the timing so that the audio track matches the action of the animation. Let’s see one such example.

Here’s a demonstration on how to make it work:

Isn’t this an easy workflow? Let me know your thoughts by leaving a comment on this blog post.

How would you rate Adobe Presenter compared to Articulate? I understand that they have the same origin…

This is exactly what I needed for a project I did a few weeks ago. I used Captivate and went back and forth adjusting the timing. I’m still a bit confused with the differences between Presenter and Captivate and when/why one should be used over the other.

If your projects are completely based on PowerPoint content then #AdobePresenter is a better choice. If your need richer interactions, scenario based branching, or application training, you should consider #AdobeCaptivate.

Thank you. I’m working on another project and found Presenter to work well for what I need … except that it can only output to Flash. I need an MP4 for the iPad so I’m using another solution.
