Given the current scenario of Education industry where time is a constraint and learners are spread across different geographies, eLearning seems to be a quick answer for most of the training needs. Be it large organizations, freelance trainers and SMEs, or entrepreneurs getting into training sector, everybody would like to dive into the field of eLearning with the enthusiasm to deliver content more effectively or efficiently, along with achieving maximum return on investment.
Whether the company is designing an eLearning course for an in-house audience or for external consumption, the challenges they come across are more or less the same. Quick development with reduced cost and greater reach to the learners, across geographies.

Challenge 1: Training needs are increasing and ILT turns to be a really expensive mode of training delivery.
Challenge 2: SME and skilled trainers are few in number and we need a way to make that most of them.
Challenge 3: Every learner would love to learn at leisure and walls of the training room are becoming a hindrance in their creativity. Taking a break and resuming is becoming more of retaining factor than a time waster.
How do we overcome these common challenges and still be as effective as any ILT. This boils down to understanding the challenge and providing an effective eLearning solution. But how?
Challenge 1: To overcome this challenge, we need to convert the training material to eLearning content. But that sounds like a huge effort… So what do we do? Start with categorizing the content and getting rid of the content that is redundant or duplicate. With the final set of training material to be delivered, the decision making will become easier.
Challenge 2: To get around this challenge, we need to utilize the skills of SMEs and skilled trainers more effectively in shaping the training material by involving them in each and every phase of eLearning content creation.
Challenge 3: This is a tricky one I would say, because when the learner has the luxury of pausing the content and resuming at leisure, we better create interesting eLearning content. And when we say the word leisure, it also involves additional elements like infrastructure to support these features and a good Learning Management System to track the progress of the learner.
