Here comes another Interactive Screen: Click-play Audio

Last week, I conducted a session on creating interactive screens using Adobe Captivate 5.5 where I showed the participants how to create a tabbed, click-reveal text, and click-play audio screen.

The demonstrations for tabbed and click-reveal text screen are already available here and for the benefit of blog readers, here’s how you can create a click-play audio screen. :)

In this example screen, notice that introduction audio plays when the screen loads. When you click any of the highlighted area, the audio clip related to it plays and the highlight box disappears indicating that you have already clicked that area.

Want to create such a screen? Here’s a demonstration:

Want to learn how to create more such interactive screens? Join me next week for Creating Interesting Interactivities with Adobe Captivate – Part 2 training session.

Happy captivating :)

Anyway to coordinate this audio with Closed Captions to make this interaction 508 compliant?

      Hi Patrick,

Since we have not added slide audio, we cannot have closed captions associated with it.

However, you can place the related transcript in the transparent text captions that we use for adding audio, change the background of the text captions to look same as closed captions and place them at the bottom of the screen just above the playbar. You don’t need to edit any advanced actions that we defined for this interactivity.

Let me know if this helps!
