Hi Adobe eLearning fans, we have some exciting news! We’re launching a NYC-area user’s group! Justin Mass will host the monthly UG gathering at the beautiful Adobe offices in Times Square, NYC! Each month you’ll have an opportunity to network and learn from other eLearning professionals. The meetings will be informal and we encourage you to bring current projects with you, share your challenges & questions, work in real time together, and enjoy pizza and beer (our treat!). You may also have your own tips and tricks to share, and the monthly meetings will be a great venue to teach as well as learn. We plan to connect with members of the product team over video conference from time to time to address your burning questions. I hope you’ll join us for our kick-off meeting on Thursday night, January 24, from 6-8pm. To RSVP, please email Justin at jmass@adobe.com

All you need to do is record a short video using Adobe Presenter Video Creator and share it on Facebook. Here’s a short video with more information about the contest: Continue reading…
Description: This year, Adobe Captivate 6 and Adobe Presenter 8 were both released. Used individually, they are both great tools for creating eLearning. Together, they are more than the sum of their parts. In fact, when used together, you can capitalize on the strengths of both. But how? What are the best ways to ensure success? Joe Ganci, eLearning expert lo these many years, and an expert in both Captivate and Presenter, will guide you through the steps that will get you up and running quickly. He will also give you a few choice tips you may find difficult to find elsewhere. Come with your questions too. Joe will do his best to answer them.
I’m thrilled to share that Adobe has announced an amazing competition for students and teachers ages 13 and up. It’s an awesome chance to strut your creative stuff and compete for fantastic big money prizes. Top prize is $2000 with a $1000 second prize and a $500 third prize.
Now money can be good. It can even be awesome. But what’s really awesome about this contest is that participants will get a chance to show off their creativity, and express their ideas about a social issue that matters to them. In this contest, entrants will create a short video (using the new Adobe Presenter Video Creator) that explains how they would Change the World for the better. It’s a great opportunity to let others hear your ideas and to demonstrate your creative abilities. Wouldn’t you love a chance to share your ideas and compete for big cash prizes? How about the people you know? You should share this article with your kids, your friends, your family and colleagues. (Hint, hint)
Check out this video to learn more about the competition.
Competitors will use the new Adobe Presenter Video Creator (available as a free trial here) to create a personalized Continue reading…
We recently released an update for Adobe Presenter Mobile App for iPad. It has few bug fixes, as well as some enhancements. To showcase these enhancements, I thought of creating a Presenter course.
When I was immersed in the thoughts of which topic to choose, I heard my third grader mumbling ‘What makes living things different?’, and that instantly became the topic for my course. Before we look at that fun course that I worked on, let’s talk about enhancements we have introduced in this update: Continue reading…
I’ve spent much of the past week preparing for Adobe Learning Summit in Las Vegas at the end of this month. This is the premiere event for fans of Adobe Presenter, Adobe Captivate and Adobe Connect. The annual event has become a welcome tradition, featuring more than twenty phenomenal sessions on mobile learning, data/LMS integration, Captivate, Presenter & Connect tutorials and tips. You can learn about the latest in Video, Rapid eLearning, Advanced Actions and more.
You are no longer forced to use the 32-bit version of MS Office, just because you want to create PowerPoint based eLearning. The new 64-bit Presenter 8 now works with your 64-bit MS PowerPoint.
How do you find out if you have 32-bit or 64-bit of MS-Office? It’s very simple, open MS PowerPoint and go to File> ‘About Microsoft PowerPoint’> … it would show you if it is 32-bit or 64-bit.
Do remember, there are separate installers for 32-bit and 64-bit version of Adobe Presenter. So, when you are downloading the installer, make sure you select the correct one.
Since last few days, Adobe Presenter 8 users are getting a McAfee ‘Generic Downloader Trojan’ virus alert for one of the Presenter installer files.
We reached out to McAfee regarding this issue and they have agreed that this is a false positive. McAfee will be excluding this virus alert for Presenter 8 installer file in their next update which is expected in a day or two.
Meanwhile, if you would like to use Adobe Presenter 8 uninterruptedly, please disable the McAfee virus scan before using Adobe Presenter 8.
If you have any further questions regarding this issue. Please leave a comment here and we’ll get back to you.
Update: This issue has been resolved by McAfee. If you were affected by this issue in the last few days, ensure that you have the latest version of McAfee and then uninstall and reinstall Adobe Presenter.
