We’re happy to announce the winners of our Scenario Training contest! We had some great entries and also significant interest from the community. The entries received close to 10,000 Facebook ‘Likes’. The people’s choice award goes to Steve Shatkin, for his entry ‘Some tips to make you a better poker player’.
Steve has definitely inspired me to try and create another scenario training on Poker tips, possibly playing out each scenario even when a user makes a wrong choice- thus allowing him or her to learn from the mistakes.

This week at Training2012 conference, one of the best sessions I attended was ‘Creating Learning Experiences that Connect, Inspire, and ENGAGE’. The session was conducted by Dr. Vicki Halsey who is absolutely inspiring and full of positive energy. The way she engaged the attendees in the session proved that her formula of engaging the students definitely works
Creating online learning materials isn’t always the easiest thing to do. That’s one reason a lot of Instructional Designers turn to cookie-cutter software and templates to churn out lessons that conform neatly to templates that were created to be as generic as possible. Unfortunately generic is seldom the best or most relevant approach to communicating the primary learning objectives of a given course module, so often times the end result looks at best dull and at worst is less than effective and engaging.
