Last month at DevLearn 2013 conference, I participated in the 9th Annual eLearning DemoFest event and showcased an Interactive eBook for iPad on how to use Adobe Presenter to create eLearning courses. There were 81 participants at DemoFest showing off their latest and greatest development efforts, offering the DevLearn conference attendees an opportunity to see a wide variety of solutions to common eLearning challenges, and information about the tools, technologies and processes they used to build them. Adobe Captivate 7 is shipped with some great looking themes to help you get started with your eLearning course creation easily. These themes help you save a lot of time that you would otherwise have to spend in creating graphical assets for your eLearning courses. These themes are bundled with multiple eLearning screen layouts to choose from, so that you can easily select the one that suits the content type for your eLearning course screens.
Along with the ability to use existing themes, you can also create your own themes and add them to the themes panel and start creating your courses from there. This is especially useful when you have to use a branded template for your eLearning course creation and need a consistent look and feel for your courses.

When creating eLearning it is important to ensure you keep the user engaged. By nature we are inquisitive, so why not create eLearning to capture the learner’s interest using this to our advantage. Rollovers are a great way to do this. (Obviously this means that these rollover effects that I am teaching you today cannot be used for mobile learning. However you can replicate the effects using click boxes and advanced actions, but be mindful that on mobile devices there is no rollover state so you would just skip the “on rollover” portion of the effects).
One way I have done this is to create a category game, so rather than having a boring slide with button menu items like this:
