Content Curation and the end of Intellectual Property

The past couple of years I’ve been blessed to get to go to Brussels for Thanksgiving and honored to meet with some of the world’s foremost leaders, thinkers, and even trouble-makers in the area of education. The European Union sponsors a wonderful conference on Media and Learning – which is genuinely filled with amazing attendees and speakers and always provides a great opportunity to enjoy great company and sensational food in an extraordinary city.

Let the image dance for your tunes… Image Slideshows with audio using Adobe Captivate 5.5

One of my favorite feature in Audio Editing dialog is, starting the next slide at a specific location at the audio waveform… just have to click ‘Select next slide at the cursor position’ button or simply press Ctrl+S or Cmd+S. Watch the video below and see how the images change according to the music.

Dynamic text for buttons… Drawing Shapes + Click boxes way!

It is very common to allow the users to navigate to a different screen if they would like to read more on a particular topic. When we create such screens, being smart in navigation and letting the learners know which screen they came from becomes very important. If the learner is clicking ‘Read more’ from Screen A and lands in Screen B, it becomes helpful for the users to know that they will go back to Screen A when they click on ‘Go to last slide visited’ button. Our Community Expert Lieve Weymeis has posted an answer at the Adobe Captivate Forum on how to solve this… Thanks Lieve :)

Check out the example to take a look at it…

Here comes another Interactive Screen: Click-play Audio

Last week, I conducted a session on creating interactive screens using Adobe Captivate 5.5 where I showed the participants how to create a tabbed, click-reveal text, and click-play audio screen.

The demonstrations for tabbed and click-reveal text screen are already available here and for the benefit of blog readers, here’s how you can create a click-play audio screen. :)

In this example screen, notice that introduction audio plays when the screen loads. When you click any of the highlighted area, the audio clip related to it plays and the highlight box disappears indicating that you have already clicked that area. Continue reading…

Getting Practical: Composition and Layout for online Rapid eLearning with #AdobeCaptivate

Creating online learning materials isn’t always the easiest thing to do. Unfortunately generic is seldom the best or most relevant approach to communicating the primary learning objectives of a given course module, so often times the end result looks at best dull and at worst is less than effective and engaging.

I also know from years working with Ph.D. students in Instructional Continue reading…
