All set to participate in the HTLM5 contest? Here are some helpful resources…

You must have already heard about the Adobe Captivate HTML5 Contest that began on 13th January. I’m sure you would be all excited to participate in the contest. So I thought of helping you out with some resources to make your task easier :)

To create an eLearning course in HTML5 format, you will need a copy of Adobe Captivate 5.5 and HTML5 Converter. You will have to create the eLearning course using Adobe Captivate 5.5 and then convert it to HTML5 format using HTML5 Converter for Adobe Captivate.

SWF speaks to HTML page… through JavaScript!

Most of us, sometime or the other, have had a need to manipulate the HTML page that contains the Captivate SWF file. The requirement may have been to display a custom message or change an image in the HTML page on click of a button inside the SWF. This can be achieved by sending data to the HTML file through JavaScript. The possibilities of combining Captivate and JavaScript really excited me and thought of sharing a few examples with you through this post. To get a feel of what I’m talking about, click the buttons in the SWF below and see how the message text and banner image in HTML changes. Remember, the text and image are not part of the SWF…they are outside the SWF, on the HTML page.

The How & Why of iPads, HTML5 & Mobile Devices in eLearning, Training & Education

I’ve been itching to write some about the proliferation of mobile devices in the wake of Tablet computers like the Apple iPad, the Samsung Galaxy, the Blackberry Playbook and a myriad of others for quite a while. Much of what I’ve read is very technical and always seems a little heavy on hype and light on practical solutions for eLearning. The salient question is, should we as eLearning developers be looking at ways to move our content onto these mobile devices in order to more effectively reach our audience? My date with Adobe Captivate 5.5 and Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 3… at HTML5 Restaurant!

Photography is one of my hobbies and I’m sure it’s the same with some of you reading this post. When I thought of creating some content in HTML5 for my iPad, the first thing that crossed my mind was Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 3. I not only appreciate it but have also seen a lot of my photographer friends use it. So, here I go with my venture to create tutorials on basics of Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 3… :)

HTML5 for iPad – Early Preview Now Available!

Thanks everyone for your response to the HTML5 – Coming Soon announcement on Facebook page and Twitter.

Soon is sooner now – You can now have an “Early Preview” of our HTML5 output for the iPad.

All you need to do is:
