Adobe Presenter EULA issues
New installations of Adobe Presenter on certain systems have been unusable as users have been unable to accept the End User License Agreement (EULA) which is launched at the first use of Presenter from inside MS PowerPoint, but flashes and closes automatically before it can be accepted. The issue has been identified to be an incompatibility of the EULA with IE9. A resolution for this issue is provided in an upcoming patch.
As a workaround, you can use either of these options:
Option 1.
Uninstall IE9, accept the EULA and then reinstall IE9 if required
Option 2.
- Go to your Adobe Presenter install directory and navigate to: \adobe_epic\eula; For ex. > C:\Program Files\Adobe\Presenter 7\adobe_epic\eula\
- Create a folder with name ‘undefined’ ; C:\Program Files\Adobe\Presenter 7\adobe_epic\eula\undefined;
- Now go to the folder C:\Program Files\Adobe\Presenter 7\adobe_epic\eula\en_us and copy the html files
- Paste the files to the new folder (C:\Program Files\Adobe\Presenter 7\adobe_epic\eula\undefined) created in ’2′ above
- Relaunch PowerPoint and access Presenter. You should now be able to view and accept (or reject) the EULA.
Option 3.
- go to your Presenter installation folder, eg. C:\Program Files\Adobe\Presenter 7\adobe_epic\
- Rename the folder titled ‘eula’ to ‘backup-eula’
- Download the EULA.zip from EULA (or copy-paste this link into your browser – http://blogs.adobe.com/captivate/files/2011/06/eula1.zip)
- Unzip the downloaded zip file to any folder
- Go inside the unzipped folder and copy the folder titled ‘eula’
- Paste it to C:\Program Files\Adobe\Presenter 7\adobe_epic\
- Relaunch PowerPoint and access Presenter. You should now be able to view and accept (or reject) the EULA.
