Description: Join Vish and Dr. Pooja Jaising to learn the basics of Adobe Photoshop for creating and editing images/assets for Adobe Captivate 5.5. This is the second part of 2 part series wherein we will discuss different techniques used in creating and managing the image assets.
The Captivate HTML5 contest has closed for entries. The viewing gallery is still open to give you an opportunity to cast your vote. Thank you for participating in this contest. The general interest can be gauged from the fact that many of the top entries have close to 10,000 views and 1,500 FB ‘Likes’ each. While many of the entries might not be appreciated for the ID skills, I’m sure the contest helped the community realize the possibilities (and current limitations) of HTML5 eLearning authoring. We had 35 entries in this contest, three of which will receive the iPad. Two of these will be determined based on popular vote, while the third will be awarded by an expert panel – for the best content as judged by them.

One of my favorite feature in Audio Editing dialog is, starting the next slide at a specific location at the audio waveform… just have to click ‘Select next slide at the cursor position’ button or simply press Ctrl+S or Cmd+S. Imagine you are taking an eLearning course and bump into a knowledge check question. You read through the question stem and options and find it difficult to answer the question. Somehow you make a selection and get a feedback “Sorry, that’s incorrect! Try again.”
You don’t feel good about it as you can’t figure out what went wrong. You attempt to answer the question again but this time around you don’t even bother to read the options and click on any option randomly and keep repeating it till you get it correct.
When designing a course screen, we sometimes come across a situation where we have some content which is related to the screen, but there’s no space on the screen to place it. This content is important and is in context with the current screen but is not worthy enough to take up the entire next screen. In such scenarios, screen with a pop-up comes to rescue!

When we create courses for global audience, oftentimes we come across a need for localized version of the course. The common workflow is to create the course in one language and then duplicate the course and then change the language for text/graphics/audio. This is the easiest way to localize content, but is an inefficient workflow for course maintenance, where you need to make the same edits in each version of the course.
To overcome this problem, Adobe Captivate provides you a way to create a single course with multiple language options. This can be done by using Advanced Actions and Variables.
Consider this! You have completed a training course and now you need to take a test. You give it a shot and unfortunately you fail in the test and are denied of the course completion certificate. You end up feeling bad!
You are playing a game. It has a lot of levels and it’s pretty difficult to cross each level. You are trying your best to cross them but keep failing. You don’t lose heart and keep trying until you cross the level. And you don’t stop there… Bring on the next level!
