Adobe evangelist Terry Ryan has already spoken about it in his blog and recently Josh Adams from our sales team wrote a blog post entry to state that ColdFusion is still in development and staying the course.

I want to iterate that there is no change in plan for next version of ColdFusion codenamed Zeus and we continue to go aggressively trying to make Zeus a kick ass release. I & Rupesh recently presented a session at MAX where we demo couple of new features of Zeus that we have been busy building.

If you have any questions, feel free to leave a comment or contact me.

  1. Very excited, looking forward to Zeus!

There certainly needs to be one change:
Make sure Adobe’s PR department actually knows what they’re doing instead of shooting themselves in the foot whenever there’s an opportunity.

  3. I think you do need to make a change… CFCHART is not using what Adobe says is the best technology choice for enterprise software. That should get converted to HTML5/JS.

  4. Are plans to have Zeus service to connect Adobe ColdFusion AND SAP a German software corporation that makes enterprise software to manage business operations and customer relations (http://www.sap.com/index.epx#).

    Where to signup for pre-release?

We typically look for folks who can help test early releases and provide feedback on quality and log bugs so that we can improve the release. Can you mail me hkhandel-at—adobedot-com? I will set you up. Which features can you help test?

Does Adobe have any plans to deploy ColdFusion on .NET?

    • Hemant Khandelwal says:

There is no native .NET version of ColdFusion. However, ColdFusion is java based platform and running in Microsoft environment is not an issue. CF does provide an option where you can interact with .NET assemblies. For example, you can use createObject to call a method on .NET assembly.

  7. Does Adobe have any plans to improve CFPRINT, so it can print not only PDF but any type of files, plus would be nice to have something like send a row data to the printer (local/network), that could really help with printing labels on network printers etc…. In general would be nice to have more powerfull interface/lib to work with printers.

      Hi Misha,

Make sure you have logged an ER using public bug tracker. We are not considering this for Zeus.
