In Lion, if you try to access web pages present in /Library/WebServer/Documents which is the default webroot specified in httpd.conf, the pages may not be served by Apache. Even if you change the DocumenRoot  in httpd.conf  to  any other location and try to access the web pages, the pages will not be accessible from Apache.
