Introducing Acrobat.com

Posted by Fang Chang at 09:00 PM

In case you were wondering why we’ve been so quiet these past few months, we’re very excited that we can finally tell you all!

Today, we announced the release of Acrobat.com, a set of online services that enable you to create and share documents from any computer, communicate in real-time across locations and simplify working with others online. With Acrobat.com, customers can create Adobe® Buzzword® documents, convert documents to PDF, organize and access their documents from any internet-connected computer, share their documents, and meet in real time with Adobe® ConnectNow.

We've been working around the clock over the past several months, and are extremely excited that we are finally able to deliver these services to customers.

As you would expect, we are exposing much of Acrobat.com’s core functionality, such as PDF conversions, file uploads/downloads, etc., to developers via our web services APIs. The Document Services APIs (fka “Share” APIs) will let developers easily build new applications or mashup Acrobat.com features with existing applications.

This is our first set of APIs, but we are planning on creating a suite of developer web services and enabling developers to build and enhance their applications with Acrobat.com’s technology platform.

Definitely more to come – stay tuned!
