How to connect to a site which uses subversion?

And also, how Contribute integrates with Subversion and store the information?

How to connect to a site which uses subversion?
This can be split up into 2 questions,
(a) Are you already using Contribute and want to enable Subversion?
Administer the website and select Version control and provide the Subversion details. You are connected to website and also its Subversion server. Recreate the connection keys for users to connect to the website. Only the new pages created and published from Contribute would be maintained in both website and Subversion. Hence use any other tool to sync the existing files on the web server with the Subversion.
(b) Are you connecting to the website using Contribute for the 1st time?
Connect to the website and provide the website credentials. Provide the subversion details also while connecting. You are connected to a website and also its Subversion server.

Connecting to a Subversion enabled website is quick and easy. But how Contribute integrates with Subversion and store the information?
Create a new page and publish it. While publishing, a Comments dialog pops up. By default the Comments dialog has a comment "Added from Contribute by <UserName>" [Contribute's <UserName> is displayed]. More descriptive information added here will be useful while checking the revision history.
To view or edit all versions of the file click on File -> Actions -> "Edit an old Revision" the Revision History dialog opens up. This will display the author and publish details of all versions of the web page.
In Revision History dialog -
Any version of the web page can be edited by, selecting the version and clicking on Select button. The Page is put for editing and after modifications click on Publish button. Publishing the page would remove the current version and replace it with the latest contents.
Any versionof the web page can be viewed in browser by, selecting the version and clicking on View in Browser button.
Any 2 versions of the web page can be compared by selecting 2 versions and clicking Compare Previews (in Mac only source code of the version is compared).
Any 2 versionsof the web page can be compared by selecting 2 versions and clicking Compare Text using external comparison tools like Araxis, Kdiff, FileMerge. The tool can be specified in Preferences – File Compare.
