Does Contribute take long time to startup by connecting to all the websites and blogs you had connected to? However, you can select the desired website or blog server and configure Contribute to connect to it during startup or even don’t connect to any site/blog. By default, Contribute is configured not to connect to any website or blog server.

How to add favicon to your website?

A favicon is a graphic image associated with a particular Webpage and/or Website.

Now the question comes, how to add a favicon to my website/webpage? To begin with, you will need a small icon that you wish to set as the ‘FavIcon’. It should be 16×16 in size. Once you have the icon ready, rename it to favicon.ico and upload it to your Server root folder, using Contribute through the option File-> Publish File from my Computer.

HTML Content Type in Contribute CS5

How can a web Administrator enforce rules to be followed by Content Contributors while creating and publishing web pages?

Sometimes they might not remember all and miss a couple of points like set page expiry before publish, following a naming convention, publish web page to a particular location etc. This can result in messing up the website, managing and repairing would be another added burden for the administrator.

Content Type can be useful for the administrator in such situations.

Is it possible to close the Administration dialog without the changes persisting?

Consider the case, where the user is exploring the Contribute Administration dialog, by modifying the settings. After exploring the different setting, he likes to close the dialog without the changes persist. Press the Esc key. It will close the Contribute Administration dialog without the current changes persisting.

How to access the draft in different machines?

Consider the case where a person, using his desktop machine, has created connection to the website and created new draft using Adobe Contribute. Half way through his work, he needs to travel. So he wishes to continue the remaining part of his work using his laptop. He doesn’t have publishing permission. How to access the draft in different machines?

There is a way to do this. Please send the draft to self. So it can be accessible from any other machine, by connecting to the same site using Adobe Contribute. If you have publishing permission, then you can either send the draft for edit to yourself or publish it.

It is very simple. Edit the page using Adobe Contribute CS5, delete the existing SWF file and re-insert the same. The code inserted on inserting the SWF file using Adobe Contribute CS5 is W3C compliant.

Encoding Links

When you insert links in a web page you are editing, by default, Contribute encodes them. You might have noticed that, when a colon symbol is passed as a link parameter in a web page URL, it gets encoded as %3A when Contribute publishes the page. Sometimes you might want to insert the link as it is, so that the link is not broken because of encoding. Here is the option to do so.
