HTML5 provides a standard for playing audio files. HTML5 defines a new element which specifies a standard way to embed an audio file on a web page: the
element. With Adobe Contribute 6.5 we can insert HTML5 audio files.
Using the HTML5 Audio option, you can insert an audio file of MP3, Ogg, or WAV format. Note that the support for these formats varies in different browsers. The following table displays the audio formats and the supported browser versions.
Using Contribute, you can edit HTML5 pages. Contribute supports insertion of HTML5 tags such as video and audio. When you create a new web page, by default, it is of HTML5 type. You are also provided with an option to convert an HTML Doctype to HTML5 Doctype.
This post will detail on the insertion of HTML5 Video and HTML5 Video Properties functionalities.
Does Contribute take long time to startup by connecting to all the websites and blogs you had connected to? However, you can select the desired website or blog server and configure Contribute to connect to it during startup or even don’t connect to any site/blog. By default, Contribute is configured not to connect to any website or blog server.
A favicon is a graphic image associated with a particular Webpage and/or Website.
Now the question comes, how to add a favicon to my website/webpage? To begin with, you will need a small icon that you wish to set as the ‘FavIcon’. It should be 16×16 in size. Once you have the icon ready, rename it to favicon.ico and upload it to your Server root folder, using Contribute through the option File-> Publish File from my Computer.
How can a web Administrator enforce rules to be followed by Content Contributors while creating and publishing web pages?
Sometimes they might not remember all and miss a couple of points like set page expiry before publish, following a naming convention, publish web page to a particular location etc. This can result in messing up the website, managing and repairing would be another added burden for the administrator.
Content Type can be useful for the administrator in such situations.
Consider the case, where the user is exploring the Contribute Administration dialog, by modifying the settings. Consider the case where a person, using his desktop machine, has created connection to the website and created new draft using Adobe Contribute. Half way through his work, he needs to travel. So he wishes to continue the remaining part of his work using his laptop. He doesn’t have publishing permission. How to access the draft in different machines?
There is a way to do this. Please send the draft to self. So it can be accessible from any other machine, by connecting to the same site using Adobe Contribute. If you have publishing permission, then you can either send the draft for edit to yourself or publish it.
It is very simple. Edit the page using Adobe Contribute CS5, delete the existing SWF file and re-insert the same. The code inserted on inserting the SWF file using Adobe Contribute CS5 is W3C compliant.
