Get Out There and #CreateNow

There’s inspiration everywhere, but we tend to miss it in the chaos and speed of our daily lives. So, we set out to create Random Acts of Creativity around the world, partnering with artists to generate moments in public that get people to stop in their tracks.

Artists have done a handful of Random Acts but this was just the kick off – there’s so much more we can do, and we can’t do it alone. To make a real impact, we need your ideas. And maybe with a little help from us, we can work together to make them happen.

Share your Random Acts of Creativity ideas with us. Leave logistics, such as funding needs, off the table for now. What would you beautify in this world? Where would you do it? No idea is too big or too small. Tell us your concepts and we may surprise you with creativity starter kits to get you going. We may also help sponsor a random act that you’d like to see come to life in your local communities.

It’s easy to get started. Simply share your ideas using #CreateNow on your social network of choice – i.e., tweet us your idea, share an Instagram of your inspiration, etc. – by Friday, August 1.

Already doing a Random act of Creativity? Tag your project on Behance with ‘createnow.’ We’re curating a Collection of the Random Acts and want to include yours.

On the Ground at Cannes Lions 2014

New Creatives at Cannes

It’s that time of year again, when we hit the warm beaches of the Mediterranean and celebrate all things creativity at Cannes Lions (June 15-21). The gorgeous location is noteworthy but we’re most excited to see amazing creative work win awards! Beyond the parties, here’s a snapshot of where you will find Adobe in Cannes.

First up, if you arrive Sunday, swing by the Cannes Connect Bar at 17:30-19:00 to meet us and other young creatives from all over the world and ease into the week.

On Monday, don’t miss The New Creatives seminar at 11:00. Our VP of products-community and head of Behance, Scott Belsky, will be hosting a conversation with Yves Behar (fuseproject founder and CEO) and PJ Pereira (Pereira & O’Dell co-founder and CCO). They will discuss their #NewCreatives story, diving into the hows and whys of breaking the confines of being just a [FILL IN TITLE HERE (e.g., art director)].

Take part in art! We’ve picked Cannes to be the location of one of our Random Acts of Creativity. 3D street artist Manfred Stader will be creating a piece live, that you can interact with. He’ll be working most of the week right by the Palais. Stop by, see the work in progress, and most importantly, be in the piece itself when it’s completed on Wednesday the 18th. Follow all the Random Acts of Creativity on social using #CreateNow.

Ride Cannes – Cycling enthusiasts can join our daily rides and take in Cannes at over 15 mph with our Mediatech Cycling crew. Get all the details along with the schedule here.

Finally, stay tuned to @Adobe to keep up with all the Cannes Lions conversations and highlights. We’ll be on the ground, providing updates of activities including results from the Creative Effectiveness Lions and the Young Lions Competitions, which Adobe is sponsoring.

Are you going to Cannes as well? Find us! And follow all the social media conversations using #CannesLions.

Random Acts of Creativity

How many times have you gone for a walk and realized you had no recollection of what you saw along the way? How great would it be if there was a moment of creativity on that walk that made you stop, take notice, and feel inspired? Perhaps it would spark your imagination to want to create a similar experience for other people.

This is why we’re starting a new program we’re calling “Random Acts of Creativity – to spur spontaneous moments of creativity in everyday life.

Random Acts of Creativity

Random Acts of Creativity starts Wednesday, June 18 featuring Behance artists who will build creative installations in public places for all to enjoy and experience. The first Random Act will take place at our June 18th Creative Cloud event, in New York City, and additional projects can be seen in Cannes, France, Tokyo, Japan and San Jose, California all on the same day. If you are in these cities, come on by and see the creations in action (Click the city link for a map to the project). We’ll also share images and videos of these projects online, on our Random Acts of Creativity profile on Behance, which we will continue to update with future creations.

June 18th is just the beginning. We hope to see more Random Acts created by members of our community.

If you had some time, the space, and some supplies – what kind of random act would you do? Would it be big or small? It could be something beautiful or inspirational that you give to people, or you could make something in public that people could experience.

Are you starting to germinate a great idea but don’t know how to get started or have the means to do so? Share your idea with us. Simply post your ideas on Behance, Twitter, Instagram, or Google Plus using #CreateNow. We may be able to help you bring your ideas to life…

And when you create something, be sure to capture it in pictures and video and share it on social media using #CreateNow. We will curate all the projects on Behance.

Creativity can happen anywhere – it just takes a little inspiration and a lot of passion. We can’t wait to see what you create.

Adobe Partners with Red Bull to Make Art History

Ever wondered what it would feel like to make art history? Well now’s your chance to find out! Today we’re announcing an exciting new collective art project with Red Bull that will give creative talent from across the globe – including everyone from designers and artists, to photographers and publicists – the chance to take part in creating the biggest and most original piece of artwork the world has ever seen. The only ask is that contributors share a common interest – to create something and share it with the world!

Together with Red Bull, we’re inviting budding artists from 85 countries to take part in Red Bull Collective Art, which brings ‘Cadavre Exquís’ into the digital age by layering multiple pieces of art created by different people to make one collective piece. Each contributor has one hour to put their artistic stamp on the final piece of artwork, which will be exhibited in art galleries across the world from May.

To get the creative process started, Red Bull and Adobe have invited dozens of artists from around the world, who have created the first images for the piece of collective art. Among them are some real superstars, including creatives Alberto Seveso, designer and illustrator Brian Yap, adventure illustrator Michael Startzman, art director Ryan Boyle and Adobe’s very own Russell Preston Brown. You can see each of their contributions, as well as those from other participating artists, here.

To take part, anyone interested in contributing can register online from today and will be asked to choose a one-hour timeslot to make their contribution between 11th and 24th March. Anyone who registers can also get a free trial of Adobe Creative Cloud, so they can create their piece of art using the very best industry-standard digital tools and give it a professional edge. They then simply download the template and use any style from photo imagery, to painting, to graphic art, to work on the image. Once complete, this is then uploaded and added to the entire artwork, with exhibitions of the final collective artwork taking place in cities across the globe from 13th May.

So what are you waiting for? Become part of art history today by registering here. You can also follow the social journey using #CreateNow and #RedBullCollectiveArt.
