Just about 6 months ago, we released a preview of Creative Cloud Connection, a utility that keeps the work you’ve created in our touch apps or uploaded to the web site in sync with the files on your desktop. In that time, many of you have brought our file sync into your workflow, and we appreciate the help with fine tuning how our service performs.

Next month, we will launch the fully integrated version of our new Creative Cloud desktop application. As part of that transition, we are updating the server APIs and code that manages file sync. We had initially planned to take the preview offline next week for these updates, but some updates this week have caused instability in the service. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this may have caused you.

Preparing for Release

To facilitate the transition from the preview, we are suspending the file sync desktop preview for the next couple of weeks while we finalize the updates for the initial full release. We plan to bring it back online prior to release, in order to allow additional testing. This does not affect mobile applications which use file sync.

You can, of course, continue to access and work with your files on your local system as well as via the Creative Cloud website. However, changes to local files will not be automatically synced to the Creative Cloud while the file sync preview is offline. You can continue to manually upload and download files to and from the Creative Cloud website.

As always, you can view the real-time status of Creative Cloud services at:

http://status.creativecloud.com/

What’s Coming

We are excited to be launching the new Adobe Creative Cloud desktop application soon. If you would like a preview of all the new capabilities, watch the Adobe MAX keynote from earlier in the month.

Thanks again for using Creative Cloud. If you have any questions or comments, please post them in our forums, where we are continuing the conversation.

Thanks,
The Creative Cloud Team

Big news today at MAX! We announced all new Adobe CC apps, reinvented to support a more connected way of creating with Creative Cloud services – like synced settings, colors, files, a brand new library of fonts, and the amazing creative community at Behance. Everything is available exclusively to Creative Cloud members and will be coming in June.

The best way to take everything in is by watching the keynote here, or read on for the highlights.

First, we’ve added hundreds of new or updated features to our desktop applications. Here are just a few highlights from today’s announcement:

Camera Shake Reduction in Photoshop CC “deblurs” an image by restoring sharpness to images blurred by camera shake

ACR8 is now available as a filter in Photoshop CC; you can apply Adobe Camera Raw processing to any of the layers in your document

Touch Type tool in Illustrator CC allows you to design with type in a powerful new way by manipulating characters like individual objects. You can also use multitouch devices as well as a mouse or stylus

CSS Designer in Dreamweaver CC provides the most up-to-date CSS and properties available via an intuitive visual editing tool

Editing Finesse in Premiere Pro CC focuses on sleek design and customization capabilities, combined with new editing features and keyboard-driven editing improvements

Live 3D Pipeline with Cinema4D in After Effects CC lets you add 3D objects to scenes and eliminate intermediate rendering between applications

Parallax Scrolling in Muse CC allows you to create stunning effects with just a few mouse clicks—images and elements move in different directions at different speeds when scrolling

Motion Paths in Edge Animate allows you to animate elements along totally customizable paths

A completely modernized architecture in InDesign and Flash Pro has been rebuilt from the ground up to be faster and more reliable, with a streamlined UI

InDesign has a great new QR code creator

Flash Pro has real-time drawing and live preview

You’ll be able to download everything from the newly redesigned Creative Cloud Download Center that will make it easy to discover and access all the desktop apps, services, touch apps, and resources that are included with your membership, directly from the Creative Cloud website.

Second, we’re helping to streamline the creative process, making it more connected and productive. In these new CC apps, your settings, styles, fonts, colors, and assets can be synced to the Creative Cloud and available across your desktop and mobile devices. You’ll be connected to the resources you need and the people that inspire you.

Sync Settings makes working across multiple computers or setting up a new computer a breeze by synchronizing your preferences, presets and other settings through Creative Cloud

Sync Fonts connects you to Typekit, including a new library of 175 professional font families available for desktop use. These fonts, worth over $20,000 if purchased individually, are included with your Creative Cloud membership

Sync Colors lets you capture Kuler color themes on your mobile device and access them in Illustrator CC, to use in all of your projects

Easily share your work and get feedback from your community by posting your work-in-progress directly to Behance from right within Photoshop CC

View file version history on the Creative Cloud website, which includes full file previews that make it super easy to browse changes or restore files

And finally, we’ve created an all new Creative Cloud desktop app with a beautiful new user interface, completely integrated with your desktop tools and Creative Cloud services. It will:

Manage your files and sync them to the Cloud

Install and update your desktop software

Install and manage your Typekit desktop fonts

Keep track of everything in your creative work, from Behance notifications, to collaboration invitations, and even updates to you CC apps — all in a single activity stream.

Everything we announced today will be available in June, exclusively to Creative Cloud members.

Happy Valentine’s Day! To spread love to all our Creative Cloud members (free or paid), we released several new product updates for HTML5 Web tooling today.

Leading the release is the first public preview of Edge Reflow, a new responsive design tool that we first showed a sneak peek to the community at our Create the Web event in September 2012. We heard from many users wanting to get their hands on Edge Reflow and today we’re happy to make that happen. We look forward to people playing with this very early preview release and telling us what type of features they would like to see added.

We’re also excited to deliver several new feature updates to the following products:

Edge Animate has been updated with new capabilities for easily adding CSS gradients and CSS filters. A new visual web font selector powered by the Edge Web Fonts service has also been added.

Edge Code now has been updated with support for live preview that shows changes in the browser as soon as they are made and supports editing code inline instead of requiring you to switch between files. Code hinting support for CSS and HTML properties have also been added.

Dreamweaver has integrated support for Edge Web Fonts making it easy to review, select and incorporate fonts into projects. The Fluid Grid Layouts have also been updated with a new editing interface for flexibility in creating fluid grid.

All these releases are immediately available, exclusively to both free and paid Creative Cloud members. Click here for more information on Adobe Edge Reflow.

Over the past year, we’ve been exploring how the creative process can be augmented and enhanced on touch devices. While some of our efforts have been successful, others have been less so. Therefore, starting today, we will no longer be updating Adobe Debut, Adobe Collage, Adobe Proto, or the Android versions of Adobe Ideas and Adobe Kuler.

If you have these apps installed on your iPad or Android tablet you can continue using them, but we will not be providing bug fixes or updates. We will continue to provide support in our forums, so if you have questions you can reach us there or contact Adobe Customer Care.

We will keep supporting and developing our other Adobe Touch Apps and exploring other ways to enhance creative workflows on tablets.

UPDATE – 1/3/13 - Sorry everyone — all comments were unintentionally posting to a spam folder. Thanks for all the feedback. We’re going through and making sure all the comments get posted and will respond as soon as possible.

UPDATE – 1/4/13 - We recognize that many of you are unhappy about our recent decision to stop supporting some of the Adobe Touch Apps. We apologize for any inconvenience and frustration caused by this decision. We’re listening, have considered the issues, and really do appreciate all of your feedback.

As a company, we strive to make great products and truly value customer input along the way. We’ve learned a lot in the process of releasing these apps and, frankly, we believe we can do better. But, the only way to do this is to focus. So, we made the difficult decision to stop supporting some apps in order to create better ones. We have in no way stopped our investment in mobile and tablets. How-to support for the discontinued apps will continue to be available through our forums. And, in addition to supporting the remaining apps, we’re actively working on new and better products to help the creative process – so we hope you’ll stay tuned for future announcements.

Thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts.

Over the last year, we’ve been working hard to improve the experience of installing and updating Adobe applications. While we’ve made good progress, we also realize that a Creative Cloud membership comes with lots of apps, and new versions are coming out frequently. We thought we could do better in how we manage all those updates. So, the team building our Adobe Application Manager has been working hard to address some of your concerns. We’re happy to announce today that a new version of the Adobe Application Manager is available, equipped with an updater! This means its easier to discover, download and install updates for your favorite Adobe applications.

From the updater, we’ll notify you which new updates are available and let you know which installed products are up-to-date. You’ll see a new “Updates” tab that consolidates all the updates, and you can choose to install all of them at once or one-by-one. We hope this makes it simpler for you to stay current with the latest features and bug fixes as we release them in Creative Cloud.

To get the new version, just launch the Adobe Applications Manager and it will self-update. Alternatively, you can download the latest copy here.

We will continue to add more capabilities to the updater and Adobe Application Manager in the future, but your feedback and comments are greatly appreciated — take this survey and let us know what you think!

At last week’s Create Now live event, we introduced Creative Cloud Training, a rich library of video tutorials from Adobe and industry-leading partners: Kelby Training, video2Brain & Attain. We are excited to announce that Creative Cloud Training is now available to paid members – check out the “Training” link in the Creative Cloud navigation bar.

Creative Cloud Training goes deep on individual products, common techniques, and specific workflows. Some videos go into detail on a single product or set of features within a product. Others show how to use multiple Adobe products to accomplish a specific task like publishing a mobile application or creating a digital magazine for the iPad. The videos are meant to help you be more successful with the projects you’re working on with the bevy of tools available to you in Creative Cloud.

The partners we are working with will provide new editorial content every month. These new videos are available exclusively to Creative Cloud customers for 14 days, before being available on the partner’s site or other 3rd party sites. This means that as a paid Creative Cloud member, you get access to new training content first and essentially for free, since Creative Cloud Training comes at no additional cost to your paid membership. Videos in Creative Cloud Training will always be available, streaming directly from the cloud, so you can come back at any time to resume watching any video. The site is responsive too! It’s easy to watch videos on your phone or tablet when you have some free time.

As of today, English training videos are available. We will be rolling out regionalized training videos starting in January. For our international customers, we encourage you to check out the English library and keep an eye out on this blog for when content will be available in your own language.

We will post regularly on this blog when we add new training titles. Additionally, we have a number of improvements to the searching and filtering capabilities coming soon. We’d love to hear directly from you, including new topics you’d like to see covered each month, so feel free to leave us feedback in our support forum.

We are excited to grow Creative Cloud Training into a destination for fresh and in-depth training content that is right next door to the place you get your tools & services. We encourage you to check out training videos on different topics and covering tools different then those you may regularly use. So hunker down, grab a coffee and watch some videos to learn what is possible with everything provided within Creative Cloud!
