Major Update to Adobe Creative Cloud Now Available

We couldn’t be more pleased to announce that our new family of Creative Cloud desktop apps, and many of the powerful publishing and collaborative features that we announced at Adobe MAX in May, are now available. These include:

If you are a Creative Cloud member, all of these new apps and services are available to you today, available on a completely redesigned app center on the Creative Cloud website. So, what’s next?

One of the advantages of being a Creative Cloud member is that you get updates and new features continuously. We already have the next batch lined up and you will be seeing the following new features and functionality as soon as they are ready:

  • File syncing on the desktop, including file versioning and private folder sharing. Customers may continue to upload and share files via the browser, with desktop functionality and more features coming soon. Private folders will let you share just the files you want in the cloud, and with versioning, every layer will be maintained and past versions will be saved. Comments on versions and invitations to join shared folders will appear in your activity stream in the Creative Cloud desktop app.

        I am having a similar problem. I keep getting an unknown server error and it will not let me login. I have also been on hold with support for 2 hours. Ridiculous!! They need better support!

      Until one day your hard drive goes Poof, and you lose EVERYTHING!!
      I hope you have at least two current copies of your content in your office (original and a copy) and another current copy stored out of the office, Otherwise, Loosing your files is just a matter of time.
      It happened to me many years ago, I lost all my files in a second, But it was a good enough lesson for me.

        Until you Gilad find out that Adobe’s servers are not reachable like they have done so over the (nearly) last 4 weeks and you can’t access any files.

        With that in mind I like to take the risk of storing my files on a double safeguarded NAS.

      Unfortunately Fireworks CS6 will not get any new CC updates. Adobe stopped developing. There´s a petition to release it as open source for further development.

      Reflow is included. We are seeing some reports it is not showing up in the Creative Cloud desktop app. If you are not seeing it (and you are running on a supported OS), then go to http://creative.adobe.com/apps and you can install it from there.

    Many millions of android users are creating with Adobe, please role out apps that are supporting there phones as well, been a member of cloud since it came out last year, and am very grateful for updates for my macs, but not all mac people like the iPhone, that aside, updating cc as i write this, with great excitement, keep up the good work, and good luck with the transitions.

    And, for the first time since the launch of Adobe Creative Suite, I won’t be upgrading to the new version on launch day.
    Until Adobe regains sanity with regard to Creative Cloud and offers a proper exit strategy (or ideally just a proper perpetual license), I won’t be upgrading. Not because I wouldn’t like to, but because you have made it impossible for a loyal customer to upgrade. How about treating your loyal customers respectfully? Or are you telling me that pirated versions will offer better value from now on?

      I can’t see a major problem. If, as you just stated, you are someone who upgrades to every new suite on launch day, Creative Cloud would actually save you money. Even at full subscription price (which is heavily discounted for most customers at the moment). You have a perpetual license for CS6 already, so if you ever stop using CC, you can fallback to it at any time.

      I suppose pirating has always been and always will be the better value for the pirate.

      The CC is quite sane to me and the lower cost of entry is a better value to me than the perpetual license. I’m an upgrader, though. I like having the latest version.

      It is not fair to judge CC directly against CS. CC includes several value-added services that were additional purchases with a perpetual license of CS. For example: TypeKit, Sync, DPS, Behance.

      Maybe those services are not important to some. I find typekit & sync indispensable now that I’ve had access for the last year and a half. DPS & Behance Pro Site are on my bucket list.

      Still, I am with some others here in my disappointment in the ongoing Sync outage. I’ve become addicted to the sync tat was available during the preview. I must get sync back, ASAP!

    For small companies that Subscriptions are clearly too expensive. Fair, when the use would be settled in minutes. As long as I have a program open, the clock is running. If I then set the month (ie 43.2 thousand minutes) had consumed, I have to pay again.
    I always use as a sole business again all programs (Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, After Effects, Premiere Pro, etc.), but I do not use this every day. Perhaps even only 1-2 times a week. And now I have to pay 65.–/Monat fix. That’s rip off! I find bad from Adobe. Otherwise, the programs are commendable.

    Adobe and since fair and expects only the use of the programs!

    Für kleine Firmen (KMUs) sind diese Abos eindeutig zu teuer. Fair wäre es, wenn die Nutzung in Minuten abgerechnet würde. So lange ich ein Programm offen habe läuft die Uhr. Wenn ich dann den Monat (also 43200 Minuten) verbraucht habe, muss ich wieder zahlen.
    Ich als Alleinunternehmen verwende immer wieder alle Programme (Photoshop, Illustrator, DreamWeaver, AfterEffects, Premiere Pro, usw.), aber ich benutze diese nicht täglich. Vielleicht auch mal nur 1-2 Mal in der Woche. Und jetzt muss ich fix CHF 65.–/Monat zahlen. Das ist doch abzocke!!! Finde ich schlecht von Adobe. Ansonsten sind die Programme lobenswert.

    Adobe seit fair und und rechnet nur die Nutzung der Programme!

    No file syncing??!!!
    It’s crazy how you launched CC last year talking about file syncing been an important part of the experience but it wasn’t available for another 6 months. You launched it, then deactivated it a month ago, and now it’s still not shipping!! I don’t see the value of a cloud product without this kind of syncing. As somebody who works on both a desktop and a laptop, it’s really a pain to keep all the files up to date on every device.
    You should stop selling functionalities you are not able to deliver

      They probably had some kind of problem in which it didn’t work the way it was supposed to. I would not be surprised if they were working on it right now. The great thing about CC is that it’s one “version” that gets constant updates that don’t require a full upgrade. That’s the whole point of CC. I know exactly how you feel about the file-syncing. I’m a web developer and I make marketing materials, so I have a work laptop and a home PC and I am trying to get a work PC too so I can take my laptop home (whenever I bring it home I forget to bring it back to the office, so I typically just leave it there) — anyway, I agree that file-syncing needs to be high on their priority list, but I also think it needs to be perfected before it’s given to us, because if there’s a glitch that could cause problems, I don’t want to use it.

    Should we uninstall CS6 Apps after installing CC? Like for example PP CS6 64bit, I went to uninstall PP CS6 after installing PP CC and saw that Encore CS6 was part of that install, but no Encor CC Installed?? Same for media encoder CS6 and CC.

    Been a loyal customers since PS4 way back when, upgrading usually every other release. I too will not be upgrading this time. Adobe has become too greedy, I have spent alot of money over the years on your products and to completely ignore your customers who don’t want CC, is real tragedy. I don’t want to rent my software, I also want/need a perpetual license. You really dropped the ball on this one.

      I too did not update every version, but needed some features of CS6…I could not afford to update…thanks to creative cloud, I could afford too, and at 40% discount for the first year (WOW!) this was going to be cheaper than upgrading!

      Now CC has been shipped, I have the update straight away, with other features that will help my productivity. I’m now just waiting for syncing.

      They had no choice but to go to a perpetual-license system — they had to release CS5.5 because the technology we all use is advancing faster than they can develop a new full release; they risked becoming obsolete every time they took the time to work on a new full release. Now, people who pay for CC can always have the most up-to-date version, which for many people in tech-related industries, is a big deal and a good thing.

      You may be comfortable doing whatever it is you do on “slightly” out-dated software (I have clients who still think Dreamweaver and Flash are owned by Macromedia, it doesn’t make them any less skilled at what they do, it just means their software doesn’t have some of the newer features and capabilities; for their projects this is fine, for my job it isn’t) — my point is, I’m happy to pay for CC because I work in a fast-changing industry and I need to stay on top of my game and have every possible advantage to keep an edge over my competitors.

      If I was using CS3 and a competitor had CS6, that would suck for me. Now with the monthly subscription, I don’t have to save up over $1,000 to buy a suite of software, I have it all right at my fingertips whenever I need it and the new updates (which will now be out more often than the full releases would’ve been out) I can stay ahead of the curve and the products that I produce will be the best possible quality because the newer features will (at least help) become the most efficient way to do my job.

    I install Adobe Premiere Pro CC and I keep CS6 Version. Problems: I have not Adobe Encore CC in Premiere or in my computer !!! I chat whith support center and Navin provide me a phone number from Bucharest Romania +40 21 222 77 18 but at this number is a salle center and not support. I contact again Adobe from chat but Adobe can not help me… What can i do ?

    I just started using Adobe Premiere CC. I have created a multicam clip and started editing, but when I exit out of Premiere and open it up later some of the video clips become out of sync. It happens every time so in the meantime I have reverted back to CS6. Seems like a MAJOR bug. Has anyone else experienced this?

    Myeah… no more tedious fussing…
    Unfortunately, this “update” to CC installs seperately from CS6 and stuff like prefs and plugins are not “synced”. This will be quite time consuming to verify and set it up correctly all again, as I have been using proggies like Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator for quite some time and have changed settings, add (small but handy) plugins a long time ago.

    I would have prefered Adobe to give me the opportunity to simply override my CS6 installation, or Adobe should have taken more care in migrating the old settings into the new update… The time (hence money) this costs me to correct, and the lack of consideration on Adobe’s part concerning this, upsets me more than the whole subscription thing!!

    I had no issues with the old application but now I get a error “No Internet Connection” this is with Windows 7 in the corporate network, from home with a Mac it works fine…are there any proxy/port changes?

    I have been trying to download upgrades for several of my Creative Cloud applications. Each time I am greeted with “Applications Manager is corrupted. Please contact Customer Support.” Yet they never respond to any of about a half dozen queries. I am beginning to wonder why I have a subscription at all.

    Just a short note to say how many video editors are disappointed that support has been DROPPED for Encore. The recently posted Encore FAQ sounds like a somewhat helpful workaround (just use Encore CS6 but you lose dynamic link) until it gets to the part where Encore CS6 will not be supported after Windows 7…so if you are on windows 8 or an OS patch breaks Encore on Windows 7, too bad.

    Yes, there is a lot of streamed media being produced. However there are also a lot of optical SD and HD discs still being requested and used (at least in ADDITION to a streaming version)…. I have no idea why Adobe cannot support both distribution methods in a suite with 30+ programs.

    I certainly hope this decision is quickly reconsidered.

    I just discovered a big problem with Dreamweaver’s new CC version. There is no print-code feature (not just in the menu, as Ctrl+P doesn’t print either) — I am working with over 6,000 lines of code in a combination of PHP, MySQLi, HTML, CSS, and jQuery/JavaScript, from a variety of developers. Some days I have over twice that. I need to print it out so I can read through and highlight pages, not scroll through endless unseparated lines of code. More than that, I need it to print out in the color-coded format that I see on-screen! Why did the ability to print the code we’re working with get taken out for this new version? PLEASE give it back!

    The pre-release hype about the new CC is not being born out by the debacle currently occurring as THOUSANDS of people are unable to install the the CC app. Today, June 21, you can’t even download the app. To make matters worse, there is no guarantee that the app will allow you to download Adobe products and install them successfully, even if you manage to get the CC app to install. Why is there no OFFICIAL statement from Adobe about this problem? What is it that they think is the problem? I certainly hope Adobe has a plan in the making for reducing the monthly subscription fee after this is over to compensate us for the downtime we are experiencing. That seems fair to me; it’s their screw-up, not ours.

    I ran into a similar problem when trying to install Microsoft’s Office 365, under its subscription program, last fall. I tried every suggestion they offered, none of which was useful. Nor did any of the tech people ever respond to my concerns. There were thousands of people having the same problem. Microsoft ignored us. So, after almost 30 years of using Office, I decided to go elsewhere. I canceled my subscription and downloaded the free Libre Office and got back to work. I may end of doing the same thing if Adobe doesn’t come through pretty soon. Corel is offering a $100/year subscription to its graphics products currently, which is a good deal. Corel’s products are very decent. If lots of people threaten to shift to Corel, that may be enough stimulus to get Adobe to get down to business and fix the problem(s) with the CC app installation, so the rest of us can get back to business. Right now, I have nothing left of Adobe on my computer. When I uninstalled Photoshop CS6, preparing to install Photoshop CC, the process not only uninstalled Photoshop but also every other Adobe product on my computer, which is absurd.

    I still can’t comprehend why Adobe’s most powerful tool (Fireworks) has been dropped out…
    Who in their right mind can do webdesign with Photoshop? It’s inconceivable to me.
    What other webdesign tool must we turn to, now that Adobe is slowly sinking away into the middle ages of software design?

    I have read online about the criticism Adobe is getting regarding the move to Creative Cloud. Well, I’ve just started my second year on the Creative Cloud and in my opinion, it’s the best thing since sliced bread. The new CC apps are amazing. Don’t get me wrong, I also use FCPX from time to time and have dabbled in Avid’s MC too. I just like how I have access to as many of the apps as I need at any given time in the Creative Cloud and it cost less per month than my cable bill…and I make money using it (unlike my cable service).

    I wish more people would get a grip (not a gripe) and understand this simple idea of being able to get in at such a low price. It makes so much more sense to me to be able to pay the low monthly fee as needed than to spend a huge amount up front for apps that I would have to upgrade again later anyway.

    Thank you Adobe for allowing us lower budget film makers the ability to have access to these great tools to extend our creativity!

    Oh, and BTW, now that the new CC apps are available we’ve switched our production workflow from FCPX to Adobe’s Creative Cloud apps. We’re half way through our first season of a new children’s TV show (just signed on for a second season of 26 episodes) and very excited to now use Adobe Premiere Pro, Prelude, After Affects, Audition, SpeedGrade, Photoshop and Media Encoder.

    I like how the Sync Setting Status dialog window has the buttons (Advanced, Disable Sync, Sync Now) in random order.

    In Flash CC it’s: Advanced, Disable, Sync Now
    In Dreamweaver CC it’s: Sync Now, Disable, Advanced.

    ….really. We can’t put buttons in the same place across the various products MADE BY THE SAME COMPANY

    Not sure why my previous post did not make it to this page?
    Since this is the Adobe “Creative Cloud Team blog” I would just like to know WHY the team decided to NOT upgrade and include Encore as a cloud program and will no longer support it past Windows 7. I know it is included as CS6, that is not the point. I think some further explanation other than an FAQ might be appropriate.

    I can’t help but point out the recurring usage of the word “synching”

    Which I find angering considering the fact that all aspects of synching have been offline for five weeks.
    Get your act together Adobe. This is NOT acceptable.

    Hello, loving the new features only one problem for the past three days the software just crashes, doesn’t matter which software i’m trying to work in ‘InDesign’ ‘Illustrator’ ‘photoshop’ ect, it still crahes. After 3 days it’s getting rather annoying, could you please get back to me on how to sort this out please. Thank you.

    It says I am not connected to the iNet and will not update. Um, yes I am since I am posting here and surfing… Get your #$%#% together Adobe. I’m not shelling out $50/month for this nonsense. It’s bad enough you’re making us subscribe let alone you can’t get your act together. How about you paying us for the time we spend trying to sort out your mess. Time trying to fix this nonsense costs us $$$. SHAPE UP!

    After updating to the latest creative cloud desktop app it is now showing all the cc apps that I have already installed as available to install?? Previously it was showing they were all up to date. Now only 3 apps that were previously installed are showing they are up to date.

    It is worth noting I had uninstalled all the cs6 apps and updated them to the cc apps as soon as they were released so I believe they were all up to date, even the latest update for indesign just recently.
