Over the past few weeks, Sarah Louisa Whittle has been sending us some of her Adobe Ideas creations. We liked the look of them so much that we created our next Adobe Touch Apps Twitter background from her work.
In our exchanges with Sarah, we were able to ask her a few questions about her experience with the Adobe Touch Apps. Read what she had to say and take a look at her work that’s being featured as our Touch Apps Twitter background below.
Creative Layer: How have the Adobe Touch Apps changed your creative workflow?
Sarah Louisa Whittle: Being a visual artist, I have a hundred and one ideas every minute of the day! Usually, I jot them down in sketchbooks or random pieces of paper that end up in the bottom of bags or cupboard draws and never to see the light of day! Now with my iPad and Adobe Ideas I find it really easy to jot down ideas wherever I am and can keep them all in one place to develop further at a later date.
What was the very first creation you made with Touch Apps?
The very first creation I made was a banana using Adobe Ideas. I wanted to see if I could create a really simple illustration that was very different from the way I usually worked in pencil, often getting too bogged down with details. This led me to create a set of fruit inspired illustrations.
Where’s your favorite location to create? Outside? Inside? On-the-go?
I would have to say on-the-go as inspiration can strike anywhere and anytime of the day!
How much of a difference has direct touch input made to your creations?
I feel that direct touch input has given me a freedom of expression and I can create artwork that is fresh and spontaneous whenever the mood takes me!
Of the different Touch Apps, which is most instrumental to your creative process and why?
Adobe Ideas is the perfect app for me as I am always coming up with ideas and sketching wherever I may be. I love the layers feature as it allows me to build up an illustration in stages and the fact that you can zoom in to add finer details.
If you had the opportunity to travel to anywhere in the world with your Touch Apps, where would it be and why?
I would have to say New York. I would love to find myself surrounded by the tall skyscrapers, traffic, and vast amounts of people and be able to capture its essence in a sketch!
What are the top three sources you look to for inspiration?
I would have to say my top three sources of inspiration are nature, galleries and the old masters!
