Are you interested in learning ActionScript 3.0 from world-renowned expert Colin Moock? If so, we have some great news!

As part of Adobe’s ongoing commitment to the Web developer community, Adobe will host a series of FREE ActionScript 3.0 training sessions starting in October and continuing through 2008. The trainings, led by Colin Moock, will be an intensive, full day session designed for developers worldwide who use Adobe Flash, Flex and AIR extensions and who have beginner to intermediate level programming skills. He will cover topics such as object-oriented programming, classes, objects, variables, methods, packages, conditionals, loops, operators, functions, error handling, event handling, display programming, compiling, and running programis.

The tour kicks off in San Francisco on October 27. From there, it will reach nine cities worldwide including Los Angeles, New York City, Chicago and major design markets in Europe and Asia Pacific. For more information or to register for a session in your city, please visit

Adobe Announces Winner of Adobe Stock Photos’ “Take Creative License” Contest

Designer Meg Richardson has reason to celebrate. She was recently announced as the winner of the Adobe Stock Photos “Take Creative License” contest, a stock imagery mashup competition. Judges narrowed submissions into the top 12 mashups, and from there chose Meg’s “clean” and “beautiful” design as the winner. Contest participants pieced together images from the Adobe Stock Photos library to create an advertisement promoting the royalty-free image service. Compatible with the Adobe arsenal of tools, Adobe Stock Photos houses over one million images from some of the world’s top collections.

Titled “Let your imagination soar,” Meg’s winning design plays upon the theme of unbridled creativity. Her ad appears in this month’s Graphic Design: USA on newsstands now, and online at
