Yo ho ho and an update to RUM

Remote Update Manager (RUM) is a tool conceived of at a JNUC many moons ago in a bar (most likely grumpies) when times were simpler and my beard was still for the most part ginger and not greying as it is now. Unfortunately since it’s inception we have not really expanded on RUM’s core functionality due to higher priority items in the backlog.

CCP 1.9.2 is now live and I am trying to recover from MacSysAdmin

I have my feet firmly back on Irish soil after a few great days at MacSysAdmin in Gothenburg. I must say it is a very unique and engaging conference. The level of knowledge on display is quite impressive and that very much extended to working with Adobe products.

Issue with CCP offline Mac Deployments

We have now released CCP 1.8 which includes a fix for this issue. If you have created a package in the last 24 hours on Mac then we would suggest modifying this package by using CCP 1.8. You do not need to add any products or updates, simply following the screens will update the package with the latest core components and the fix will be applied.

IT does not enjoy saying no ! 

A common misconception about IT is that we enjoy saying no. That when a user asks if they can have a particular application, before even hearing what that application is, we have already decided that we are going to say no. If you ask me who is to blame and where it all started, one word, Solitaire. Origins of this misconception aside I am going to make a bold statement, IT does not enjoy saying no.
