During today’s general session, Brad Rencher introduced the Summit 2011 Companion App. The companion app will be your sidekick while you’re here with us at Summit; you’ll be able to access your custom schedule, follow and join the Twitter conversation, view the list of speakers, and get general info about the event such as maps and shuttle schedules.
A few quick tips to help optimize your companion app experience:
- Be sure to login with the same email address and password you used when you registered.
- We’ve made some last minute updates to the app, so make sure you’ve downloaded the latest version for iOS or Android.
- Take advantage of the social features: “Check-in” at all Summit sessions and event and upload your photos. All of your activity will post to the “Event Feed.” Stay up to speed on the “Event Feed” to stay connected to what is going on at Summit and where you should be to make the most of the event
Contest and Giveaway: We’ve equipped the app with a point system and badges. You receive points whenever you use the app to check-in, share, comment, etc. The top 20 app users will be entered into a drawing to win one of three Motorola Xoom tablets running the new Android 3.0 (Honeycomb) operating system. Winners will be announced and prizes will be awarded during the final general session. You can check the curent rankings anytime by tapping on “Leaderboard.”
