Jaguar Land Rover streamlines product development and engineering

jaguar land rover

Engineering and product development are at the heart of the business at Jaguar Land Rover, the United Kingdom’s largest automotive manufacturer of premium all-wheel drive vehicles  - and one of the world’s premier luxury sports car marquees. Precision and the high level of attention to detail made standard by the brand are reflected in the systems they use to maintain those standards.

Global growth required streamlined processes

As the global presence of these two iconic British car brands continued to grow, streamlining processes to create a more hassle-free and less time-consuming workflow became crucial. For example, to build exemplary automobiles and all-wheel drive vehicles at the highest level, there were more than 40 processes in place for the product development team alone to follow, including paper forms and multiple agreements that required several rounds of sign-off with supplies and dealers all over the world. This was a complex and time-consuming process.

Enter EchoSign

To test the possibility of going paperless while still ensuring auditable, traceable, and legal compliance, the company started with a pilot program to see how e-signature solutions and digital documents could streamline processes in the product development and engineering area. By working directly with Jaguar Land Rover, the Adobe EchoSign Client Success and Services team was able to make enhancements and tailor e-signature solutions to meet the automotive brand’s specific and unique needs.

After an extensive evaluation process, Jaguar Land Rover selected Adobe EchoSign to automate these manual, paper-based processes moving forward. From a security standpoint, EchoSign and its encryption policies allowed Jaguar Land Rover the flexibility to help ensure that only those authorized could sign off on select documents. In one instance, a document requiring 16 different signatures was completed in two days. Plus, the strength of the Adobe brand, and Jaguar Land Rover’s familiarity with products like Adobe Acrobat, made EchoSign the right choice for the company’s document workflow strategy.

Companywide adoption

After the rollout in engineering and product development, other departments were eager to implement the technology. Adobe EchoSign is now established within 25 Jaguar Land Rover groups, with more than 3,000 users automating 80 separate processes. With the sheer volume of documents the business relies on, EchoSign has made a positive impact on business agility and the ability to respond quickly. And for an automobile company, being agile and quick are definite perks on the drawing board, the road, and on the balance sheet.

Six NEW Ways EchoSign Moves Your Business Forward

ES-blog_July_012

We know the importance of being able to get work done on the go. Business never really stops and neither should your ability to manage your business from anywhere, anytime. We are excited to unveil new mobile capabilities and product enhancements with the July release of Adobe EchoSign, including phone verification, increased workflow flexibility, and an all-new experience for iPhone users.

Now the ABC’s of business (always be closing) are literally and figuratively possible. Here’s why:

After the May 2014 release, which made EchoSign available to more than 1 billion current Adobe Reader, Adobe Acrobat, Box, Google Drive, and Microsoft SharePoint 2013 users, our team was hard at work already creating the next phase of EchoSign product evolution. Our goal?  To allow you even more flexibility to move your business forward, from anywhere – and today’s release is the result.

With the unveiling of these new features, you will have an even easier time using EchoSign from your iPhone or tablet. With an enhanced user interface (look/feel), the tools for verifying signers, gathering multiple signatures at different stages, and applying additional security measures are streamlined. You can get work done and get your deals closed on the go – with a company and service you trust!

Here are our top six favorite features. These highlights of the July release enable you to:

  • Verify signers with your phone. Achieve a higher level of identity assurance through two-factor authentication using phone-based verification. Your signers can verify themselves by typing in a one-time code delivered to their phone via voice or SMS text message.
  • Collect multiple signatures. Create multi-step workflows to collect countersignatures and finalize your contracts after someone has signed a document or form embedded in your website.
  • Give your customers a great signing experience. Users signing a document on a mobile device now get an even better and simpler experience. The electronic signing interface is responsive – it re-sizes itself automatically to fit browser windows. Great for working with mobile devices or signable documents embedded in your website.
  • Do more with EchoSign on your iPhone. Send, sign, and manage documents better with powerful new capabilities such as offline and in-person signing, single-click approvals, and geolocation capture.
  • Change verification methods on the fly. Easily update identity verification settings for signers having trouble with the selected method – for example, when a password is forgotten or a phone number changes.
  • Work with Adobe Experience Manager. Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) customers have the ability to create and embed enterprise-level forms into their websites and mobile experiences. You can collect information electronically and gather signatures at the same time within an online portal. With these enhancements, you can complete the entire process of sending, signing, tracking and filing as a natural extension of the platform you’re already using.

We told you we made it easier.

“Because people can sign documents anywhere with Adobe EchoSign, we can meet deadlines that would have been impossible with paper versions.” - Connie Brenton, Director of Operations and Chief of Staff in the Legal Department, NetApp.

How Going Green Cuts Your Costs

ES-blog_ESIGN_day4FINAL

During this weeklong celebration of National ESIGN day, we hope you’ve gained some insights into just how much impact e-signatures have had on modern business – from streamlining workflow to accelerating contract signing times and helping companies cut back on paperwork.

But, there’s another important benefit that digital document workflows bring to the table — the ability to cut down on paper and save the resources and energy needed to produce it. Yes, you can go green AND cut costs by integrating EchoSign and adopting e-signatures. Your company (and our natural resources) will thank you!

We know the environment is important to you and your future hires! In 2013, we conducted a research study of over 1,000 US business managers asking key questions about document workflow at their respective companies. Findings in the study titled Paper: An Endangered Species, showcased the increasing difficulty of paper processes, and its negative impact on security and trust. The study also revealed that a more digital workflow is key to going green and attracting new talent. The increased efficiency that digital documents and e-signatures provide to professionals was noted as a top benefit by 51% of survey respondents. Participants also noted the lack of security in paper documents, with 67% agreeing that contracts are prone to potential defacing when sent using paper. With a trusted name like Adobe, professionals can be sure that their documents are safe and secure when sent via EchoSign.

In case there was any question — digital trumps paper in the workplace in many ways. Over 50% of survey participants agreed that digital contracts are easier to send, less expensive and more environmentally conscious. The study also found that professionals want to work for a more green company, with 72% agreeing that helping the environment is a huge benefit to using digital contracts and 48% noting environmental concerns as a reason to switch from paper to digital workflows.

Has your company recently switched to a more digital workflow? Not only are you saving time and money, but also many natural resources including lumber, waste and water. Measure the impact your company’s digital efforts alone are having on the environment using the EchoSign Green Meter. This meter allows you to put in the amount of paper you’re saving by utilizing digital processes, and convert that to the amount of lumber, waste and water being saved. Check out the Green Meter here and calculate the impact your efforts are having on the environment.

Share with us just how much you are saving  - on Twitter at @EchoSign  and on our Adobe EchoSign Facebook Page.  And if you aren’t onboard with e-signatures yet, let us help you get started. Check out our free trial and Go Paperless.

E-signatures Accelerate Workflows Across Many Industries

E-signatures are paving the way for many organizations to begin the transition to digital document management. We hear first-hand from our customers and partners how e-signatures speed up the approval cycle and streamline the process of tracking and managing deals, contracts and workflows. Our customers (and theirs) are getting to revenue faster.

Whether you are a large corporation or a small business, Adobe EchoSign is the electronic signature solution businesses can trust. To continue celebrating National ESIGN Day this week, we wanted to showcase how our customers, across a multitude of industries, have streamlined their processes and reaped the benefits of moving business forward by adopting e-signatures:

Health Care – EchoSign has helped many hospitals and physician groups  transition from paper contracts to digital contract management. Two examples:  St. Charles Health System and University Physicians Network. Administrators are now able to eliminate hefty printing and postage costs, while also speeding up the flow of vital documents within finance, payroll, insurance carrier documents and payroll – reducing turnaround times from months  to days.

Automotive – EchoSign works with big names in the auto industry such as KIA and Jaguar Land Rover.  For KIA, EchoSign supports high volume signature processes using the MegaSign feature. This feature cuts contract completion time in half and ensures all contracts are delivered securely. For Jaguar Land Rover, EchoSign was put in place to accelerate product development and help ensure compliance with legally mandated documentation.

Internet/Technology - EchoSign works with big names in the digital space including Foursquare and Groupon. For Foursquare, EchoSign is vital to the company’s drive to become a paperless environment, including their new hire onboarding process. At Groupon, EchoSign made it easier for merchant partners to review, sign and retain their contract paperwork electronically.

Has your company gone digital yet? Never worry about printing, faxing, or document whereabouts again. With EchoSign, you can go from send to signed in a matter of minutes-and keep track of the process every step of the way.

Top 10 Bizarre Deals and Contracts

ES-blog_ESIGN_day1_draft01

Over the course of history, and the not so distant past, there have been many bizarre requests, contracts signed and out-of-the-ordinary agreements made in business, politics, music, sports and even childhood promises to best friends. In honor of National ESIGN Day yesterday, and our weeklong celebration, we count them down for you here!

10.  Elvis Presley had a record deal with RCA Victor for $40,000, the largest amount paid for a single performer by a record company up to that time. The catch: Elvis never signed the contract! Presley was a minor at the time, and therefore his father had to sign on his behalf.

9. Baseball star, Alex Rodriguez, signed a 10-year contract with the Yankees in December 2007 that guaranteed him $275 million in cash.  However, this deal didn’t include seats to the game, but did give A-Rod the option of purchasing tickets!

8. The band Van Halen contractually required that a bowl of M&M’s have all brown M&M’s removed before each show. The reason behind the band’s specific request: if the promoter did not read the agreement well enough to catch this, then they would be  likely to forget important requirements about their equipment as well.  Van Halen members would raise quite a ruckus if the deal wasn’t met.

7. In 1986, the Astros re-signed pitching reliever Charlie Kerfeld, paying him $110,037.37 as part of his contract.  The demand for such a specific number came from his jersey, number 37.

6. Albert Einstein and his wife Mileva became estranged after he achieved success.  In order to continue living under the same roof, he proposed a contract for responsibilities. These responsibilities included: “You will make sure that my clothes and laundry are kept in good order, I will receive my three meals regularly in my room, and you’ll stop talking to me if I request it.”

5. Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise both signed a prenuptial agreement before their marriage in 2006. The details: for each year the couple stayed married, Holmes would collect $3 million dollars. Despite their divorce in 2012 and the estimated $18 million expected, Katie Holmes  only receives $400,000 dollars annually for child support.

4. MLB catcher Harry Chiti is the only player that has ever been traded for himself. You might be asking, how was this possible? Simple, he was traded to an expansion club team in exchange for a “player to be named later”. After playing poorly, the receiving team chose him as the player they would trade back.

3. When President Obama signed the 2010 Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, he used 22 pens.  Presidential signing pens have become famous and are now given to those who helped pass the bill as a memento.

2. In 2007, the Oakland Raiders negotiated a $68 million dollar contract over 6 years with their number one draft pick, Jamarcus Russell. One problem, he was cut before making the team but the Raiders still had to pay him millions.

1. In 10th Grade, MLB pitcher Justin Verlander made a deal with his best friend, Daniel Hicks, to give him .001% of his pro signing bonus (should he ever get one) in exchange for 50 cents to buy a chocolate milk. Daniel kept the signed note over the years and presented it to Verlander when he was ultimately drafted by the Tigers and received a $3.12 million dollar signing bonus. If Verlander made good on this childhood promise, that would be $31.20 (that’s enough to buy a few more chocolate milks.)

Check out some of these historical signature moments you won’t believe, watch the video here.

We told you they were bizarre! Do you know of any deals to add to this list or even top it? Share with us on the @EchoSign Twitter account and Adobe EchoSign Facebook Page.

Adobe EchoSign Celebrates National ESIGN Day!

ES-blog_ESIGN_day1 Today is the 14th annual National ESIGN Day, and we’re celebrating all the ways business has advanced since the Electronic Signatures in Global and National CommerceAct  (ESIGN Act) was signed on June 30th, 2000 by President Bill Clinton.  The ESIGN Act ensured the validity and legal effect of  contracts entered into electronically. The paperless movement was launched.

At Adobe EchoSign, it’s our business to know about the importance of signing your name on big deals, sales and hiring contracts, insurance forms, real estate ventures, and vendor process documents. How about your John Hancock on receipts, credit card charges, and that annual birthday card to your lovely Aunt Trish? In fact, throughout your lifetime, chances are you will sign on the dotted line 500,000 times.

With the inception and adoption of electronic signatures –  and intuitive, trusted e-signing solutions from Adobe EchoSign – the process of signing, sending and tracking digital documents made things a whole lot more convenient, safe and secure. But it wasn’t always this easy breezy.

Today, join us as we celebrate all the ways that modern business has moved forward since the ESIGN Act in 2000, while paying homage to some of the biggest deals and “signature moments” in history.

Check out our new video on Historical Signature Moments (we think you’ll like it!):

Stay tuned all week to @EchoSign on Twitter, hashtag #esignday, and to the Adobe EchoSign Facebook Page for interesting (and sometimes shocking!) facts about the most famous, and infamous signatures and deals that have been forged throughout history.  We’ll be asking trivia questions in social media all week! We hope you’ll play along and test your knowledge.

Apttus Accelerate Insider POV: How to Quote and Close Deals Faster with E-Signatures in the Cloud

PanelsSlideIntroScreentoPanel

By Mark Grilli, VP, Acrobat Solutions

The engaging and thought-provoking sessions at Apttus Accelerate continued today with our Adobe EchoSign customer panel, featuring some top Adobe EchoSign customers from Cadence, Motorola and Nike. These business leaders explained how the Quote-to-Cash process has helped them to close deals faster and with greater accuracy, and how tools like Apttus, Salesforce and Adobe EchoSign have helped these customers dramatically reduce the time it takes to get contracts completed (from weeks to merely hours, in many cases). Along with increasing efficiency for their businesses, implementing the Quote-to-Cash system has helped them to secure customer relationships, ensure pricing accuracy and accelerate sales cycles.

NewPanelistPhoto

Joining me on today’s panel was Vianne Sha, IT Principal Architect at Cadence; Sandra Ficke-Bradford, Director of Contract Management and Policy at Motorola Solutions; and Genaro Lopez (@gelopez42), Manager for Enterprise Contract Management at Nike. In each of their roles at their respective companies, these professionals deal with extensive contract and workflow management. Finding the best solutions to speed up the process, decrease wasted resources and solidify customer relationships is at the top of their lists. Each came across EchoSign while looking for a contract solution to solve these problems, and one that would integrate with existing sales tools to streamline the process.

The integration between Adobe EchoSign, Salesforce and Apttus was a huge selling point for each of these important Adobe customers. They needed a solution that would integrate seamlessly with the other sales and workflow management tools their companies regularly use. The Quote-to-Cash process allowed them to adopt our e-signature tool, Adobe EchoSign, with zero disruption of any business process. Sha spoke of leveraging the CRM solution at Cadence, and wanting to achieve sales efficiency as they deployed Apttus and e-signature with Adobe Echosign.

Right out of the gate, Lopez commented that Nike’s famed “Just Do It” slogan isn’t just a marketing campaign – it’s a mindset that drives the adoption of best business practices, too.  Lopez had to occasionally play the role of gatekeeper as Adobe EchoSign went a little viral inside Nike, with several teammates wanting to use Adobe e-signatures even in areas that hadn’t yet been officially approved. Lopez likened EchoSign’s ease-of-use to gamification, saying that EchoSign became so popular and convenient that his team needed to tweak their training regimens – a good “problem” to have, everyone seemed to agree.

The benefits to their company workflows were readily apparent. Ficke-Bradford spoke of a linear process at Motorola, knowing that it would take time to bring order to the chaos – but likewise, knowing that e-signature would be brought into the process eventually.  (During a humorous aside, Ficke-Bradford noted that her son’s wrestling club used Adobe EchoSign for obtaining permissions for his participation, and joked that, if a wrestling club could easily adopt EchoSign, Motorola certainly could, too.)

Lopez talked about the use of EchoSign with Nike’s sports marketing department, saying the EchoSign distinction between “approvers” and “signers” has been instrumental in quickly and efficiently inking athlete contracts via those athletes’ old-school agents.

Sha cited the full transparency afforded by EchoSign – the fact that all of the pertinent parties have full view of where each and every contract stands. She mentioned, too, how the EchoSign “reminder” function serves as virtual prompt to ensure contracts move along in a timely fashion. It’s so easy to just go ahead and sign right then and there, isn’t it?

Through 2014, Sha’s team has already processed 80 percent of the legal agreements that it processed in all of 2013. Nike didn’t have an ROI mandate as it rolled out Adobe EchoSign, but saw two distinct use-cases:  one in Nike’s famed sports marketing department, and another at the board level.

As large companies like Cadence, Motorola and Nike continue to implement Quote-to-Cash business solutions, the business benefits of using tools like Apttus, Salesforce and Adobe EchoSign become increasingly evident. By adopting these integrated business tools, professionals can bring their companies immeasurable benefits from accelerating processes, to increasing accuracy and reducing costs and resources.

Apttus Accelerate 2014 – An Insider POV and A Look Ahead

Kevin Lynch2

By Kevin M. Lynch, GM/SVP, Adobe, Document Services

Today, I was thrilled to host a keynote session at the Apttus Accelerate Quote–to-Cash event in San Francisco because – simply put — this event is a “must-attend” for anyone in the financial services, technology, and manufacturing industries.

For six years, Adobe – a Diamond Sponsor at this year’s event – has been a partner of Apttus, and in that time we’ve worked together to deliver the very best “quote-to-cash” solutions to customers across these sectors. At the same time, Apttus itself has been a customer of Adobe EchoSign, as I mentioned in my post yesterday and Adobe’s been a customer of Apttus, as well.

Everyone who attends Apttus Accelerate shares common goals — productivity, cost savings and deeper customer relationships – and we’re gathering this week because we’re all working to improve the “Quote-to-Cash” cycle with these goals firmly in mind. Apttus Accelerate affords us the opportunity to continue and start conversations about these goals, these needs, and our customers.

During my keynote, I worked to start one of those conversations – this time, about the future and the “must-haves” that will take us there. In Adobe’s view, the key “must-have” is digital. Your customers are evolving and they are demanding simpler, faster, connected experiences. The path to these experiences is a digital path.

Adobe is, and has always been, about changing the world through digital experiences. We’ve been at the forefront of transforming numerous industries, from electronic document workflows to interactive web experiences and games. Today, we’re changing the world with Adobe EchoSign, the e-signature solution that integrates with existing processes to help close deals faster and more securely.

Adobe’s six year partnership with Apttus continues to be critical to our digital path. In innovating and integrating services like Adobe EchoSign, we are helping customers leverage their existing processes, systems and information to transform bigger business workflows. Adobe is redefining business workflows in the same way we redefined documents with PDF.

At Adobe and with our partners, we want to create a world where documents work for people, not the other way around. And here are some ways Adobe is making that happen:

Trust and Security – Business is 24/7 and, with its SaaS-based environment, Adobe is making contracts available 24/7. The process should be transparent for both sender and signer, so that you know where things stand each step of the way, and it should be secure and compliant across your systems and the regions in which you operate.

Global Reach – Adobe helps you maintain control over your data and privacy of your documents through an Adobe EchoSign platform that’s available in 20 languages, with support from legal experts in 30 countries. Adobe’s helped drive the policy discussion worldwide, because we help drive business worldwide.

Flexibility – Adobe is about creating seamless integration across multiple systems, technology partners and your own internal systems – so you never leave money on the table. We also want to optimize existing content so you never leave information on the table either.

User Experience – Tablets are changing the way business operates, and Adobe’s vision is far-reaching and includes the possibility of bringing things like geo-location, video, biometrics, and voice to the e-signature experience. Imagine the impact for your business and the customer experience!

Improving customer experience is in Adobe’s DNA and that’s what we’re doing today. Digital documents and e-signatures help get us there because, in short, they are radically transforming the customer and sales experience. My Adobe colleague Mark Grilli will be talking about customer and process transformations in his Wednesday panel and we urge you to learn more by attending.

In short, however, the opportunity is there. A 2013 Adobe Research survey found that 98% of US companies still use paper in their contracting process. Yet two‐thirds of respondents agreed that paper is less secure and 70% of those surveyed agreed that contracts are more efficient when sent and signed digitally.

The opportunity is there: the opportunity to drive, delight and deliver to customers. Those are the things customers seek, and that’s why they’re demanding simpler, faster, connected experiences. It is incumbent upon you to digitize your processes with a trusted partner – a partner like Adobe, with a 30 year legacy, to figure out how you can make all your processes digital so you can lead business, not lose it.

Six Years of Adobe and Apttus: What’s Coming at Accelerate 2014

apttus web banner

By Kevin M. Lynch, SVP and GM, Acrobat and Document Services, Adobe

Adobe is proud to announce its presence at the Apttus’ Accelerate Quote-to-Cash event in San Francisco this week, as a Diamond Sponsor, a feature keynote on Tuesday, and a solutions-centric customer panel on Wednesday. Accelerate has become a “must-attend” event for anyone who is looking to accelerate and automate business contracting, and Adobe’s thrilled to play such a central role in this event.

But beyond the event this week, we’re proud that the relationship goes even deeper than sponsorships and keynotes. Adobe has shared a six year relationship with Apttus – one in which Adobe has been Apttus’ partner in delivering “quote-to-cash” solutions, and one in which Apttus has been an Adobe customer.

So what does Apttus, the world’s top “quote-to-cash” provider, purchase from Adobe? Adobe EchoSign, the e-signature solution that integrates with existing processes to help close deals faster and more securely.

It’s always a good thing to have a customer choose Adobe EchoSign for its contracts and sales needs. It’s even better when that customer specializes in contracts and sales itself. Talk about validation!

Adobe is, and has always been, about changing the world through digital experiences. We’ve been at the forefront of transforming numerous industries, from electronic document workflows to interactive web experiences and games. Today, we’re changing the world with Adobe EchoSign, the e-signature solution that integrates with existing processes to help sell more quickly and more securely. In innovating and integrating services like Adobe EchoSign, we are helping customers (and HR, Procurement, and many more) leverage their existing processes, systems and information to transform bigger business workflows.

In short, today Adobe is redefining business workflows in the way we redefined documents with PDF.

I’m excited to share more about the six year Adobe/Apttus partnership and Adobe’s future vision during my keynote address on Tuesday. Moreover, I know my colleague Mark Grilli has big plans to talk about other big Adobe EchoSign & Apttus customer successes during his Wednesday panel.

I genuinely look forward to speaking with you on Tuesday at Apttus Accelerate.

And Apttus? Thank you for a terrific six years. Here’s to many more.

Progressive and Other Financial Services Companies Innovate with E-signatures

ES blog_progressive2

Insurance and financial services companies face a number of challenges in today’s fast-paced digital workplace – from rising operational costs, to customers demanding faster turnaround times – these businesses are working hard to identify solutions, as well as opportunities for growth, in a period of transformation.

By taking advantage of digital technology, especially electronic signature solutions, across entire processes, insurance and financial services companies can tackle some of the most predominant challenges that they are facing today.

  • Improving customer experience – Customers expect seamless digital experiences that enable them to rapidly complete transactions without interruptions.
  • Securing interactions – In this digital age, companies need to meet increased demands around security, privacy protection and compliance requirements across more diverse geographies and businesses than ever before.
  • Increasing operating efficiencies – Financial services companies need to cut down on the significant amounts of paper required to accomplish signature-intensive processes across lending, insurance, treasury, account and trade operations.

As a testament to this changing landscape, Progressive is partnering with Adobe to make electronic signature solutions available to its agencies. Adobe will now offer Adobe EchoSign + PDF Pack to Progressive’s more than 35,000 agencies in the US to help them tackle their biggest business challenges, while combining the reliability of Adobe PDF with e-signatures, so agents can close business faster, more easily and securely. It will initially be made available to agencies in Missouri and Illinois and roll out nationwide later this year.

“We’re pleased to be able to work with Adobe as a preferred provider of electronic signature solutions and offer Adobe EchoSign + PDF Pack to our independent agents across the country,” said Dwight Hager, director of distribution for Progressive’s Central Region. “Adobe’s solutions will help provide a powerful platform to reduce operational costs, improve customer experience and save time for our business, agents and customers.”

With Adobe EchoSign, the entire process of getting to a signed agreement is easy. Single or multiple documents can be packaged and sent for signature, removing the hassle of using paper and multiple email attachments.  Once the agreement is signed, it’s simple to track, manage and store them securely in Adobe EchoSign and send copies back to all parties.

With Adobe PDF Pack, paper or electronic agreements can be easily converted to secure, reliable Adobe PDF files that can be easily sent for signature via Adobe EchoSign.  It can also be used to create PDF documents to share with clients such as letters, brochures, and policy change notifications, to ensure they see exactly what they should see.

Progressive joins other similar services institutions in taking advantage of the benefits of Adobe EchoSign. Take NEC Financial Services and Card Assets as two such examples. Both financial services companies needed to improve efficiencies and cut costs in order to better serve their customers, and decided that the best way to do so was to transition their multi-step, manual application workflow to a more streamlined, automated one by implementing Adobe EchoSign e-signatures.

With EchoSign, NEC Financial Services and Card Assets achieved the following results:

  • Reduced turnaround time for signed agreements from days to as little as minutes.
  • Increased business by completing more transactions per month.
  • Eliminated virtually all printing and postage costs, reducing operational costs.
  • Enabled customers to sign quickly and easily on mobile devices.

E-signatures: Removing the last bottleneck to productive digital transactions

ES blog_GeoffreyMoore[1]

In the modern business world, digital transactions are transforming every activity with the mass adoption of mobile devices, wireless capabilities and cloud computing. Electronic signatures, or e-signatures, are no different. has 34 million customers electronic business processes, increasing productivity and efficiency of the modern workforce.

Geoffrey Moore, renowned author (Crossing the Chasm), speaker, and business advisor, has released a new whitepaper focused on e-signatures and their adoption into the business process. The whitepaper explores how as a new, technology-savvy generation enters the workforce, companies must make the transition from traditional systems of records to a modernized type of IT – one that’s focused on systems of engagement.

Traditionally, IT has been focused around databases, where interests of the employee are subordinate to the dictates of the database. This type of system creates bottlenecks, which systems of engagement are designed to remove with a user-centric orientation.

E-signatures represent an aspect of the new era of IT, created to accelerate workflow and speed up the mission-critical process of obtaining signatures. The act of signing has been changed by our increasingly digital world, just as the processes of printing, scanning, faxing and mailing are no longer user-friendly, eco-friendly or bottom line business-friendly. Manual signatures delay business processes, increase administrative costs and add no value to the workflow. So why do companies still use them?

Making the transition to digital signatures and increasing your company’s system of engagement should be simple and easy for your organization. Click here for the whitepaper and learn how to incorporate an overall system of engagement at your company. Click here to sign up for a free trial of EchoSign.

Our VP of EchoSign, Jon Perera, interviewed Moore to ask him about the technology adoption life cycle and how businesses can successfully usher in the new era of IT. Watch the video here.

You can’t have a great sales event without a closing party, are we right?! The Salesforce1 Tour wrap-up party in London was no exception! We ‘rocked til dawn’ at Café de Paris with the rest of the conference attendees and learned to party London-style. The Salesforce Obsessions party, thrown by Xactly and New Voice Media, had a fully stocked bar and great live entertainment making for the perfect end to a very successful event.

Adobe on Adobe: How EchoSign reduced our procurement contract completion cycle by 73%

Laptop_Handshake

As companies continue to evolve and look for ways to conduct business more efficiently, many procurement heads, business managers and finance departments are looking for ways to speed up document approvals, digitize processes that work for a multitude of vendors and ultimately reduce the lag time (and headaches) that are attached to paper. Our own Procurement team put EchoSign to the test to see how the adoption of e‐signatures and digital document workflows could actually help Adobe streamline processes and keep business moving with our global partners and customers.

Let’s Talk Numbers

Adobe Procurement works with a contract average of almost 1,500 contracts/quarter. The majority of those are in North America, but some also support international offices. Additionally, 85% of the non-revenue generating contracts within the overall company are handled by Adobe Procurement. Adobe had a contract management system in place, but parts of the process were still manual and paper-based, specifically the old “requirement” for a wet signature process for executing contracts. We weren’t alone, in fact, this situation is a very common one. A 2013 survey found that 98% of US companies still use paper in their contracting process. This is in spite of the fact that two‐thirds of respondents agree that paper is less secure and 70% of those surveyed agree that there are material efficiency gains.

Let’s Talk Results

At Adobe, this has all changed for the better. Our Procurement team removed the roadblocks slowing down business and as a result became more agile and responsive to the business overall. Contract completion cycle was reduced by 73%: going from 2‐3 weeks to 1‐2 days. Currently, 79% of contracts are completed in 7 days or less. Additionally, there was a 70% increase in contract completion and the Procurement department’s paper and supplies costs were cut down by 80%.

With more than 3‐million contracts e‐signed on a monthly basis across sales, HR, Procurement, health, education, legal and government, Adobe EchoSign knows a thing or two about what customers are looking for in an e‐signature service. Get contracts, documents and orders signed in a fraction of the time from anywhere and see your document through every step of the process with the detailed EchoSign audit feature.

Say goodbye to managing the influx of scans, faxes and printouts by bringing on EchoSign to work with your existing business applications. It’s time to start to show‐off your numbers by minimizing paperwork and using that time to focus on growing your numbers with your clients and partners.

Adobe EchoSign’s new release puts e-signatures in the hands of over 1 billion users

LATEST blog picAdobe extends its leadership in digital documents by making the Adobe EchoSign electronic signature service readily available to the one billion business professionals who use Adobe Reader, Adobe Acrobat, Box, Google Drive, and Microsoft SharePoint 2013. The May release also introduces a streamlined user experience and industry-leading support for customized business workflows. Combined, these enhancements make it possible for more organizations to finish business faster and speed time to revenue. Today, Adobe EchoSign customers achieve an average of 85% reduction in contract signing times.

Since the December 2013 release, the Adobe EchoSign team has been focused on designing a superior e-signature experience that integrates seamlessly with business users’ preferred applications–and today’s release is the result. Now, Adobe EchoSign is instantly accessible within the most commonly used desktop and cloud-based document applications, making it easier than ever to integrate electronic signatures into business processes across Sales, HR, Legal, and Operations. Other key highlights of the May release include:

This is easily setup by choosing from several identity verification methods such as password, knowledge-based authentication, or social identity.
  • Faster, easier administrative setup, user management, and permissions. Administrators can easily scale EchoSign within their organizations by creating, updating, and managing users in bulk, as well as controlling signing privileges within an account.
  • Expanded APIs. Underscoring its commitment to a standard and open platform for electronic signatures, Adobe continues to make more of Adobe EchoSign’s functionality accessible through APIs. Adobe EchoSign supports a comprehensive set of SOAP and REST-based APIs allowing developers to use their favorite tools and programming models of choice to build integrations into Adobe EchoSign.

Streamlined contracting enhances productivity

echosign blog 2

Sharing information about technological developments is vital to closing sales, but also requires companies like NetApp to protect their interests and intellectual property with nondisclosure agreements (NDAs). With Adobe EchoSign, NetApp has automated productivity and document security by creating NDA templates e-signatures that can be signed from any desktop, laptop, or mobile device.

“Because people can sign documents anywhere with Adobe EchoSign, we can meet deadlines that would have been impossible with paper versions,” says Connie Brenton, director of operations and chief of staff in the legal department at NetApp. “By giving sales representatives self-service access to pre-approved NDAs through Adobe EchoSign, agreements are completed and processed significantly faster.”

NetApp can complete NDAs three times faster in Adobe EchoSign than the old paper-based process. Plus, total contract turnaround time has been slashed from 19 days to five days. Read more here.

Credit Card Applicants Approved in Minutes

ES-MG_0218small

There’s no more waiting for credit cards because of traditional mail or faxes at Card Assets, a division of First Arkansas Band and Trust. The company replaced its inefficient, error-prone paper-based credit application process with an automated system that uses Adobe EchoSign for electronic signatures. Customers can easily apply online or via mobile device, which helps save time and eliminate chances for manual errors.

“With paper-based applications, it could take 24 hours or more to receive approval,” says Karl Adamson, project manager for Card Assets. “Using Adobe EchoSign, applicants can be approved in as little as 10 minutes, which helps us get cards in customers’ hands much faster.” Read more here.

Go Green in the Office for Earth Day with Adobe EchoSign!

We’re all about saving paper and resources at Adobe EchoSign. In business today, companies that are “green-minded” with how they are using resources, not only help improve the environment but can also save money – double bonus! Last year’s EchoSign IP Study, Paper: An Endangered Species revealed that cutting back on paper use and going digital is a key step in “Going Green” for all types of businesses. From reducing costs to increasing efficiency and document security, the benefits of taking your contracts and important documents digital with EchoSign are endless.

Here are several other ways companies can save resources by digitizing workflows:

  • Use mobile technology to get business done: Many, if not all, of the tools business professionals use regularly have a corresponding mobile app. Use of these apps can help ensure you are able to get business done while on-the-go without having to print out lengthy documents, scribble notes or keep calendars on paper. For example, the Adobe Reader mobile app helps you view and edit documents from your smart phone or device. Apps like Dropbox store important documents for you, so you can access them from anywhere, and the Evernote app helps you sync up your key documents on every device you use. Finally, the Adobe EchoSign app allows you to get key documents signed and as a result, business done from anywhere, even when offline.

  • Send documents electronically: Does anyone in business use “snail mail” anymore? Sending physical documents is insecure, inefficient and creates a lot of unnecessary waste. These days, everything can be sent electronically, saving your business time and resources. Use Adobe Acrobat to PDF your important documents before sending them over to ensure security and prevent unauthorized editing. Adobe EchoSign allows you to send contracts and close deals electronically with legally binding e-signatures, and keeps documents secure with password protection and other security options. No more scanning, faxing, printing or posting!

  • Store documents in digital archives: Printing and filing is old school! When important documents are filed in a paper filing system, not only is it a waste of time and paper, but your business runs the risk of losing those vital records. Electronic filing systems help companies to always know where important records are and have access to those records from everywhere. With Adobe EchoSign, key documents and contracts are stored within your account in an online archive and can be accessed from anywhere. Acrobat.com also allows you to store important PDFs and access them from your mobile device where ever you may be doing business that day. And an Adobe Creative Cloud membership comes with online storage for your creative files, to allow access on any device or computer.

Adobe and their partners offer many products that help companies to go digital with their business processes, and save time, money and resources while doing it. This Earth Day, make a pledge to make your company a little more digital by incorporating some of the above solutions into the way you do business!

Do More on Your iPad: Adobe EchoSign App Update Now Available

By Mangesh Bhandarkar, Director Product Management, Adobe EchoSign

Today, Adobe EchoSign released the latest version of its app, making it easier to send, track and sign documents from anywhere on your iOS device. With this update, Adobe EchoSign for iOS continues to transform the way you work with the following enhanced features:

Create dynamic documents with calculated fields

With this release, EchoSign supports real-time calculations for users signing on iPads. You can create “dynamic contracts” by building in fields that automatically calculate values based on a formula or rule. Calculations can include mathematical functions and/or conditional logic. For example, if you are sitting face-to-face with a customer, your customer can choose the type of product, the quantity of product dynamically and, depending on the choices made by the customer, the total order price is dynamically calculated – all this even if you are offline.

Replace or delegate a document to a different signer

Once a document is sent for signature, a sender can easily replace a signer using this latest version of the EchoSign app. This may be needed when the original signer cannot sign the document for some reason, e.g. being on vacation.

Similarly, a signer who receives a document for signature can delegate and forward the document to someone else to sign. The ability to replace a signer or delegate to someone else avoids requiring users to resend or resign a document and helps to keep business moving forward.

With your mobile device, you have the ability to #SignAnywhere and with this latest update you can streamline this process even more. The free EchoSign for iOS app update is available at the iTunes App Store.

AribaLIVE Daily Recap Day 2– Enabling the Business of Tomorrow Today

aribalive1During the wrap-ups on Wednesday, we were privy to the exciting plans for Ariba users, partners and suppliers. In fact, the comprehensive roadmap that was shared focused on some exciting topics, including integrating the Ariba Network with other SAP cloud services and with HANA, and a new focus on mobile and user experience.

In fact, we were thrilled (along with everyone else crammed into the keynote this morning) to see Ariba’s new mobile app that was demonstrated as a part of Sanish Mondkar’s presentation. It is a great example of their new mobile first and adaptive user experience focus.

aribalive6

Following the keynotes, we took the opportunity to network with other attendees. As you get to talking about solutions to eliminate inefficiencies in procurement, it’s really easy to turn on paper. Today at AribaLIVE, we also took part in some paper ‘smack’ talking. Our own Adobe EchoSign team members tested their engineering prowess with a paper airplane challenge while hanging out the Ariba team – after all, that is all that paper is used for nowadays, right? With EchoSign, we remove a critical step in traditional contract workflows by removing the need to print out a contract for signature. Even when the contract is signed, there is still no need to physically print the contract, it is stored safely away in the EchoSign system and/or in your Ariba Contract Management system. We truly are pushing for a paperless workflow and we were excited to be among others who are striving for the same.

Aribalive3Soon, it was lunchtime! Several of our own EchoSign leaders mingled among the 200 women attending the Women in Leadership luncheon. It is a great event that Ariba hosts every year during AribaLive, with the number of attendees growing each year. During the event, Tracey Wilen-Daugenti, author of Employed for Life, 21st Century Career Trends, gave an informative talk on women in the work place. One of the take-aways in her talk was the topic of negotiation, and how women are strong negotiators. However, when it comes to negotiating for themselves (career growth, compensation, etc), they are not as stellar. This topic was poignant as many of the women in the room negotiate every day in their jobs.

By mid-afternoon, it was time to talk about the power of e-signatures presented by Conrad Smith, Senior Director Global Procurement for Adobe Systems.

Conrad kicked off the session “Complete Your Contract Cycles in Minutes, Not Weeks,” by sharing the challenges he and his team had before they started using EchoSign. By integrating EchoSign, a legally-compliant e-signature solution, into Adobe’s own procurement processes, his team was able to remove roadblocks and become more streamlined, agile and responsive to the business overall. Conrad provided the direct benefits that the Adobe Procurement organization received after the implementation of Adobe EchoSign. It has been truly transformative. Adobe’s own contract completion cycle time reduced by 73%: going from 2-3 weeks to 1-2 days. 79% of contracts are now completed in 7 days or less. Plus, there was a 70% increase in contract completion. He pointed out that of course, our vendors and partners don’t mind going to an e-signature system since it gets them paid faster.

aribalive5“AribaLIVE is a testament to just how integral procurement professionals are to the success of the company’s they represent. They are the true rock stars that make business work,” stated Smith. “We are breaking down the paper barriers to show that deals can be done at lightning speed. And, AribaLIVE is the ideal stage to help procurement professionals of the 1000 companies in attendance to soak up the knowledge they need to transform their companies to completely paperless, digital powerhouses.”

conrad smithAs the final day comes to a close and flocks of AribaLIVE attendees hit the slots one more time before heading home, the EchoSign team already feels as though we have hit the jackpot. From the major announcement and integration with Ariba, the inspirational tone set by Bert Jacobs of Life is Good and the other presenting Ariba executives and keynotes, to our own heavily attended session full of Ariba users interested in the using e-signatures to streamline paperless workflows, we honestly feel as though we won big this year!

Adobe® EchoSign® Announces Partnership with ARIBA®

Condense your contract cycle to minutes (not weeks) all within your ARIBA Network.

On the brink of kicking off AribaLIVE 2014, we are extremely excited to announce that Adobe EchoSign and Ariba have partnered to bring users a fully integrated e‐signature capability within Ariba’s on‐ demand Contract Management solution. Through this timely and intuitive integration, EchoSign enables users to send, sign and track their contracts and deals with one‐click without having to leave the Ariba platform.

It makes sense. You already rely on Ariba, the world’s leading business commerce network, and the Ariba Contract Management system to execute contracts faster, cut costs, and maintain compliance. Now you can achieve even greater efficiencies by getting your contracts electronically signed right from within your Ariba environment. With Adobe EchoSign for Ariba Contract Management, it’s easy to  collect legally binding e‐signatures—from anywhere, on almost any device—helping you shrink contract cycles, reduce costs, and speed time to revenue.

Founded on the principles of eliminating the wasted time and money involved in corporate purchasing, Ariba helped modernize the outdated, tedious, frustrating and often wasteful paper‐based procurement processes. Using Ariba, enterprises can now understand and get complete visibility into how they are spending money. Similarly, Adobe EchoSign’s mission is to streamline company workflows with paperless, digital document management and eliminate the waste associated with filing and storage costs as well as lost opportunities when an important document or deal gets lost in the shuffle. These two value propositions excellently dovetail with each other, leading our two companies to partner to deliver an integrated solution.

Now, buyers and sellers within the Ariba network can accelerate their quote‐to‐cash processes without ever leaving the Ariba Contract Management user interface. EchoSign is built into Ariba Contract Management, so it’s fast and easy to get started—no installation or configuration needed. Because EchoSign runs transparently inside your Ariba system, it requires little or no training to use. This integration reduces the timeline for payment completions from weeks to minutes, eliminates paper‐ based workflows, improves data quality and security, all while providing real‐time visibility into the status of your contracts. Contracts are digitally sealed to provide tamper evidence and automatically stored in the Ariba system.

Backed by Adobe’s rich, 30‐year legacy around digital document management innovations, EchoSign has proven to be the leading e‐signature solution with more than 3 million contracts successfully sent, e‐ signed, tracked and closed on a monthly basis.

SXSW Day Five Recap

5 days. 120 hours. Tens of miles walked. Hundreds of contracts e-signed. Thousands of data plans exhausted. Countless Robot jokes. Whether it was surprising attendees as a 9 foot Robot walked the streets of Austin, attending sessions that spoke to the evolution of business in this demanding age, demonstrating how EchoSign can help conduct business from anywhere – we made it all count!

Adobe EchoSign has officially wrapped up at SXSW and we are excited to share all that we accomplished during the leading interactive experience of the year. Following the awesome #UseMELeavME Adobe VIP party at the #DigitalCampground on Monday evening, hazy SXSW partyers hit the streets one more time for final sessions and events of the interactive portion. On this final day, Adobe EchoSign hosted a tweet-up in which we picked up the tab on free drinks and highlighted the easy #SignAnywhere ME Agreement demos while sparking up some solid conversation with the Adobe EchoBot. Whether you attended because free drinks are too easy to pass up, you saw our illuminated mobile billboards all over the city of Austin or that you were intrigued by the joke-wielding Robot who has been known to offer his opinions on all carbon-based life forms, we thoroughly enjoyed our time at the GingerMan and appreciate them hosting our gathering.

Kudos to the entire Adobe and Adobe Social team for putting together an unforgettable experience and for all our SXSW partners who helped make it all happen. And of course, to the ever-humble, always welcoming city of Austin… til next year!

SXSW Day Four Recap

Day four at #SXSWi proved to be another one for the books for Adobe EchoSign, no surprise there! With more Me Agreements completed and many more conference attendees learning about the ease and convenience of e-signatures, EchoSign continued to be a hit with the interactive crowd.daysxsw6.jpeg.JPG

daysxsw5.jpeg.JPGThe day started with the EchoSign team hitting the streets with the EchoBot for more pictures, robot meet and greets and Me Agreement e-signing. Once again, the conference crowd couldn’t have been more excited to meet with EchoBot, who charmed everyone from tech geniuses to little children. While out and about the EchoSign team was able to interact with some of the top tech influencers attending SXSWi. These influencers were enthusiastic about EchoSign and e-signatures, and enjoyed their chance to demo the program by filling out and sharing Me Agreements. The simplicity of Adobe EchoSign, as well as the convenience of the functionality were some of the most noted features among those who had the chance to run through the demo, and many were very surprised by all the extra features and benefits of the software.

After dominating the streets of Austin for a few hours, the EchoBot was invited to be the guest of honor at the daysxsw4.jpeg#ChooseHarder party thrown by @HARDER and @TheOnion. The party was thrown at famous Austin venue, Mohawk, and featured an amazing performance by The Hold Steady. The EchoBot had a chance to jam out to the band and interact with many more tech and music influencers. The crowd was great and after watching the band, party-goers were ready to boogey down with EchoBot and talk e-signatures with the EchoSign team.

As the sun set on another gorgeous day, Austin buildings lit up with mobile billboards. Each billboard daysxsw3prompted conference attendees to find the Echobot around Austin for prizes and encouraged people to learn what EchoSign is all about. The night wrapped up with the Adobe VIP party back at the #UseMeLeaveMe digital campground. An incredible performance by Aloe Blacc allowed the EchoSign team to once again enjoy some great live music. Campground festivities didn’t just include the amazing live performance though, our team also got to try out the video grams, grab some grub from the food trucks and even run through some Me Agreement demos with other party attendees.

All in all day four was another home run. The team is bringing it home with one last day on the streets of Austin to wrap up SXSWi today, and we plan to leave it all out on the field!

Adobe EchoSign at SXSW- Day 3

Adobe EchoSign finished strong on day three. The weather cooperated, hundreds of  Me Agreements were signed and the pub-crawlers continued to travel the streets of downtown Austin with happy peddlers in tow.

pub crawler 3 3There was so much hype and excitement on the streets of Austin today when the EchoBot was out “interfacing” with humans! People from as far as France and Denmark learned how to #signanywhere by demoing the EchoSign Me Agreements, a contract experience created by EchoSign with fun, creative contracts people can sign agreeing to SXSW related goals. Conference goers e-signed agreements to encourage them to take advantage of their first time at SXSW, check out the Austin food trucks and, our personal favorite, befriend non-humans, like EchoBot, while at SXSW. Business cards were exchanged and pictures of the #EchoBot on Twitter popped up all day. Needless to say, EchoBot and EchoSign have been huge hits on the streets of Austin. pub crawler 3 2

The only thing that South by Southwest techies loved more than interacting with the EchoBot was traveling around Austin via the pub-crawler. At one point throughout the day, there were lines of people waiting on the street for a chance to join in on the fun. Up and down the streets of Austin people couldn’t help but take pictures of all the pub-crawlers singing to music and peddling as hard as they could. Pub crawl riders had the chance to demo EchoSign too, amidst all the fun, by digitally signing the pub crawl waivers.

pub crawler 3The good news is that the fun doesn’t stop today. We still have two more days to go, so we’ll be back with another re-cap tomorrow! See you then!

Adobe EchoSign at SXSW– Day 2 Recap

We can’t believe day two at SXSW has already come and gone! The rain did not stop us from venturing out into Austin to show people what EchoSign is all about.IMG_7442

To start the day off, we hopped on a couple of awesome pub-crawlers to show people around the city how easy it is to #signanywhere – even from a 12-person bike!  To join in on the fun people were asked to sign a quick waiver using EchoSign, which gave them a first-hand look at how easy it is to sign documents on the go. The pub-crawlers were a huge hit and we think people were just as amused digitally signing a document as they were drinking beer while peddling through the streets of Austin.

It was also a big day for the Echobot. He scored a couple interviews walking the streets of Austin from news outlets covering SXSW. The Onion even had a little fun with him asking if he would be willing to reveal his Google history.  The reporter must have liked what he saw because he and Echobot were dancing within minutes! No matter what age, people found Echobot so intriguing they couldn’t help but ask what EchoSign was all about. Everyone we met left more knowledgeable about the ease of e-signing after completing their personal Me Agreements designed specifically for SXSW attendees.

IMG_7444To end the day, people enjoyed delicious pizza served from food trucks at the Digital Campground and beer flowed like water. People were able to socialize and play bags while listening to the bands rocking out on stage. It was the perfect opportunity to exchange business cards and get to know others at the campground.

Although rainy, day two was a blast. We’re excited to get back out and do it all over again tomorrow.

Adobe EchoSign at SXSW– Day 1 Recap

EchoSign’s first day at SXSWi in Austin will be tough to top!  There were robots, tech gadgets, and of course lots of e-signatures!  With the Adobe Echobot at our side, people flocked to EchoSign’s airstream at the #UseMeLeaveMe Digital Campground to learn more about the number one e-signature solution.IMG_7393

Here are a few highlights we want to share from the first day that we know people will be talking about in the days to come!

To start the day off, Adobe EchoSign took part in launching the Razorfish/Adobe Digital Campground. Hundreds of people flocked to the campsite at Walsh and Fourth to visit the different airstreams and enjoy some music and food. The Adobe EchoBot made people fall in love with him by showing off his dancing skills, taking pictures, and having conversations in countless foreign languages. Ultimately though, he was able to show people how easy it is to #signanywhere by directing them to try EchoSign’s Me Agreement app.  To put it simply, he made people not only fall in love with him but EchoSign in general!

After the launch, we hit the streets of Austin! People were amazed at the ease of using e-signatures to sign their Me Agreement App anywhere, any time (not to mention the talking/dancing/multilingual robot). EchoBot was able to talk them through how to use it, impressing some of the most tech savvy people out there.

Day one was such a success we can’t wait to see what’s in store for the remainder of SXSWi.

Adobe EchoSign Adds eSignature to President Obama’s ConnectED Initiative

ConnectEdPicture1By Jon Perera, Vice President of Adobe EchoSign

Today I had the honor of visiting the White House with some Adobe colleagues for the first ever White House Student Film Festival. In addition to screening more than a dozen short films about the role of technology in education, President Obama gave a progress report on his ConnectED initiative, which is focused on raising technology standards for 99 percent of American students within the next five years.

I’m so proud of Adobe’s role in today’s announcement at the White House. All told, we are committing more than $300 million worth of software to ConnectED. This commitment is among the largest from the private sector to date, and it includes Photoshop Elements and Premiere Elements for creative projects; Presenter and Captivate to amplify e-Learning; and EchoSign electronic signature software to help improve administrative processes across 15,000 U.S. schools!

Many K-12 school districts across the United States are already using Adobe EchoSign today, but a huge amount of school administrative work is still done on paper. Through this effort Adobe hopes to:

•Help schools save money. We know that the cost of paper-centric workflows is very high. Document filing costs are $20 per document. Based on conservative estimates, we can potentially help schools save $250M over the next five years.

•Help digitize the administration of our schools. The days of paper, fax machines, and printing in our schools are over – with Adobe EchoSign, K-12 schools can take a comprehensive look at how the business of school administration is done, and how digital solutions can help enable a more modern approach.

•Help schools make a positive impact on the environment. Over the course of the next five years, our contribution of EchoSign to this initiative alone offers the potential of helping schools save 171 million gallons of water and 14M pounds of landfill typically associated with the cost of using paper. See Adobe’s Green Meter here for more information.

We couldn’t be more excited about ConnectED and its potential for raising technology standards in our nation’s schools. I’m thrilled about the role EchoSign will play in helping modernize school processes, and look forward to kicking this off!

IRS Approves Electronic Signature for Key Payroll Form

Based on Publication 1474 published by the IRS on January 4, 2014, it is now legal for any Intuit® payroll customer to sign Form 8655 electronically, thereby eliminating the need to print the form, sign using a pen and then fax back to Intuit.

Publication 1474 allows any reporting agent collecting Form 8655 to do so using electronic signature. The decision to allow the electronic signature was based on the IRS’ experience in working with Intuit and several other payroll providers on individual electronic signature pilot tests. Electronic signature is an easy-to-use functionality which simplifies the process of getting a document signed by guiding the user through a step-by-step process of completing and signing the document. The electronic signatures process is provided in partnership with Adobe EchoSign .

“This was a very long journey for Intuit that began more than four years ago when we first experimented with electronic signature for Intuit Assisted Payroll,” said Matt Gotchy, senior product manager for Intuit Full Service Payroll. “Today, I am ecstatic to report that we now have an electronic signature success rate of 91% – our highest rate ever. In Full Service Payroll, we’ve found that customers who electronically sign their legal documents reach first billing 28% more often.”

“We are very excited to see our collaboration with Intuit for enabling electronic signatures for Reporting Agent Forms achieving a significant milestone and getting approved by the IRS,” said Mangesh Bhandarkar, Director of Product Management for Adobe EchoSign. “Through the simplicity of the EchoSign electronic signature process and working closely with Intuit to streamline the user experience we were able to reduce errors, attain high completion rates and therefore achieve Intuit’s goals for implementing an e-signature solution. We look forward to continue working closely with Intuit as they expand their use of EchoSign from the pilot phase into production.”

Simplifying contracts for contractors

CXC_Global_Logo_2_Col usethisone

As a specialist in contingent workforce management, CXC Global excels at finding contractors for all types of positions. As a result, the company deals with large amounts of paperwork related to onboarding new contractors and other documentation, so CXC Global decided to automate their contract management with Adobe EchoSign

“The lack of an effective document management system made it difficult to keep track of signed documents and resulted in delays due to lack of visibility into contract/paperwork completion status,” says Chris Thuel, Legal & Compliance Manager at CXC Global. “Integrated with our CRM—NetSuite—Adobe EchoSign enables us to have a complete process for initiating, completing, and managing our contracts for both internal activities and client projects.”

‘Tis the Season – enhanced service and updated functionality!

Here at Adobe, we’re always working to find new ways to help you finish business faster, streamline business processes, and increase efficiency. Going paperless with Adobe EchoSign allows your organization to get documents signed anywhere, anytime, on any device securely.

So we’re excited to announce our Winter release that delivers major updates to the EchoSign service to help drive ROI for your organization. In particular this release consists of:

  • Powerful tools to automate the signature process
  • Major advances in the usability of EchoSign, making it even easier to use
  • Significant innovations to the platform with new REST and SOAP capabilities for developers
  • Enhanced integration capabilities with partners like eOriginal, Salesforce.com, Apttus, Conga, and more
  • Deep Zoom capabilities
  • New 7×24 support, chat-support, and community support forums

When you have a document that needs e-signing, setting it up to be sent out via Adobe EchoSign is easy. With our latest release, our customers can now quickly and easily customize documents to align to business workflows before sending them for signatures. By creating customized templates for form fields that include field locations, field properties and field validations the process of sending documents for signature is simple. These field templates can be applied when sending a document through the EchoSign Web UI, the APIs, or from CRM systems such as Salesforce.com, Microsoft Dynamics CRM, etc. Fields can now be easily added to documents even when the documents get generated from third parties.

We heard your feedback and are improving the signing experience by providing clickable hyperlinks within documents. This not only allows signers to access external locations but also allows navigation within a single document through a table of contents. Additional new capabilities include support for multi-line text fields and resizable signature and initial fields within documents.

We have also significantly improved the readability of documents and the performance for our customers by leveraging the industry-leading document imaging capabilities available through the Adobe document processing technology. Additionally signers and senders also now have the option to zoom in or out on documents for better readability.

We are also announcing true integration with eOriginal to support use-cases where customers want their documents to be vaulted. “Many companies have electronically signed contracts that may have transferrable financial value whether for securitization, collateralization or general transfer of ownership. eOriginal is dedicated to full lifecycle support for our customers and now offers complete electronic transaction management with the seamless integration between our two platforms” stated Ralph Burns, Chief Revenue Officer of eOriginal. “We are excited to work with Adobe EchoSign to bring this capability to customers.”

Last, but not least, Adobe EchoSign is committed to offering thorough, helpful and reliable customer service. Improvements made to our customer support process include the presence of 24/7 assistance from our support team. Yep, any time of the day, any question – the new chat support feature and a new customer forum have been added to the website so customers can get their problems solved and the answer they need quickly and without hassle.

We’re excited about these improvements to the easiest e-Signature platform used for transacting millions of documents every month by companies such as Groupon, Time Warner Cable, British Telecom, Kia, Tivo, NEC Financial Services. We want to thank you for all your feedback. We are starting to work on the next set of exciting new updates to the service. Let us know how you like the new capability and if you have ideas or suggestion please submit them here.

From all of us at Adobe, we wish you and your families Happy Holidays and a Very Happy New Year!

Adobe EchoSign Launches a Major Release with Salesforce1 at Dreamforce ‘13

Last week we shared our eSignature roadmap vision with you and talked about coming mobile support. Hot off the press this week, we’re excited to announce the new Adobe EchoSign for Salesforce Version 14 release that is integrated with Salesforce1, the new social, mobile and cloud customer platform unveiled this week at Dreamforce ‘13. Available for testing and deployment now, this release is the first eSignature app that is live on the AppExchange that works on Salesforce1.

This new Adobe EchoSign release lets Salesforce users:

  • Drive document and signature workflows from within Salesforce1 from the desktop or on mobile devices;
  • Integrate directly with Salesforce Chatter feed via Chatter Actions  for greater productivity when obtaining signatures for documents;
  • Send and manage agreements globally with full international language support;
  • Automate workflows via new administration capabilities for mapping data to and from Salesforce, making it more powerful and easier to use than ever.

Through the Adobe EchoSign mobile application, Saleforce.com users can already sign documents even when the signer is offline and temporarily disconnected from the cloud. Now, the application automatically synchronizes when the user comes back online, stores the signed documents back into the Salesforce1 platform and triggers an associated business process within Salesforce.

Adobe EchoSign is the easiest eSignature solution on the market for all stakeholders involved – from Salesforce administrators who want to customize their business processes, to sales reps sending out agreements, to signers. This new integration with the Saleforce1 platform enables Salesforce customers to be even more productive and close deals faster from anywhere and from any device.

salesfoce

Salesforce users have voted EchoSign #1 on the AppExchange for 5 years running, which is a testament to our true dedication to our customers and to product innovation on the Salesforce platform. No matter where your business takes you, Adobe EchoSign for Salesforce is there to help you close deals faster and streamline your document workflows, saving time, money, and resources. This gives companies the ability to focus on their core competencies of building and selling products and services. There is a lot more in store, as Adobe EchoSign has big plans to push the envelope and lead the way when it comes to the future of electronic signatures and digital documents.

#Signanywhere is Everywhere: Adobe EchoSign #DF13 recap – day 2

Another busy day at the booth for Adobe EchoSign. Word of free premium coffee spread on the DF14 floor, keeping our talented baristas serving up hot joe all day. We estimate more than 1500 cups have been served to date.  Keeping people energized in and around our booth has been fun and thanks to a Bono sighting  in mid-afternoon (Yes! Bono!), it has also been star-studded. Our booth team never stopped giving personal, one-on-one demos all day long – lots of great questions while forging new relationships with prospects and customers.

In a collaborative session on Tuesday, a packed house of more than 200 customers participated in a hands-on tutorial on how to set up single sign-on SAML using Salesforce credentials to access EchoSign. EchoSign was  selected to be a part of this solution-oriented session on Salesforce1 due to our reputation for being responsive and engaged with the needs of the Salesforce customer – we couldn’t agree more!

During our second day, it became very obvious that our “Sign Anywhere” campaign was gaining momentum. Whether in the booth, hopping a cab, enjoying a pedi-cab ride in the rain, interacting with our “Me Agreement” Sign Anywhere Contract experience on Facebook, cashing in on the 30% off promo for EchoSign, registering for our friction-free panel and Geoffrey Moore session on Wednesday or living it up at Adobe EchoSign sponsored Dia De Los Muertos Happy Hour with Apttus or the #SpringIt VIP party with SpringCM, as the #1 e-signature solution on the Salesforce AppExchange, we are making business easier and the show a lot more fun and friction-free for attendees!

Be sure to keep your eyes peeled for the Adobe EchoSign #SignAnywhere red tab and let us know if it is helping make your show experience friction-free! We also hope it is making your time at Dreamforce that much more awesome!

The excitement of #DF13 could be felt as the first wave of attendees gushed onto the show floor mid-morning on Monday. Looking for familiar faces, new tools, streamlined solutions to better their own business, many attendees didn’t have to look past the Adobe EchoSign booth. Serving up hot, premium coffee from our own Adobe EchoSign baristas all day, the energy in and around the Adobe EchoSign booth was undeniable. Dressed with big bold signage that reinforces the opportunity to #signanywhere, the booth N1407 was a flutter with live product demos, discussions around the 30% off promo for Salesforce users, and even a visit from KRON4 NBC news to speak to our own Jon Perera about this year’s conference and how Adobe is playing an integral role in helping businesses become friction-free.

Enabling Friction Free Business – Adobe’s eSignature Roadmap

At Adobe, we’ve been innovating on digital documents for decades. Today, we deliver the most comprehensive eSigning portfolio, from digital signatures in Adobe Acrobat toAdobe EchoSign.

  • 50 million agreements have been signed on the EchoSign platform, which is now accelerating at a rate of more than 3 million agreements per month.
  • Organizations using EchoSign include more than 100 banks as well as companies like Citrix, Foursquare, Groupon, KIA Motors, Marketo, Netapp, Ricoh, Time Warner Cable, TiVo, and more.
  • More than 1.8 million customers are using Adobe Acrobat digital signatures across the Federal government, healthcare and pharmaceuticals, financial services, and more.
  • 30 million users are signing their personal documents with Adobe Reader, which is deployed across 800 million PCs and 300 million mobile devices worldwide.

EchoSign-InfobiteBut there’s still a great deal of work to do.  According to our research, less than 10 percent of all contracts in North America are signed electronically. This means important documents are being printed and signed the old fashioned way, which slows business down, creates risk and can be error prone. Whether it’s a sales contract being sent from Salesforce.com, or a new employee onboarding document that’s part of a Taleo workflow, we don’t think companies should be printing, faxing, or “over-nighting” these critical documents. That’s where eSignatures can have a huge impact.

LOOKING FORWARD

To help our customers and partners plan their eSignature implementation initiatives, we are revealing our top-level roadmap for friction-free business with a new digital document platform. In the next 30 days, we’ll deliver two key updates:  EchoSign for Salesforce v14, as well as a major new EchoSign winter release. We’ll provide more detail here in the next few weeks, so stay tuned.  More broadly, we are delighted to share how we will innovate over the next 6 to 12 months across three key areas: advancing security, ease of use, and expanding our cloud capabilities.

SECURITY & IDENTITY

Digital Signature Support. In June 2012, EchoSign became the first solution provider to digitally sign and cryptographically seal documents signed through the EchoSign service. The digital seal provides persistent evidence of the authenticity of the signed document, and provides visual tamper evidence when viewed in Acrobat or Reader. We’re seeing increased adoption of Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) smartcards or tokens across government, healthcare, pharmaceutical, finance, and more – smartcards that can be used for digitally signing documents. So I’m delighted to announce that Adobe will introduce first class support for digital signatures in the EchoSign service, leveraging Acrobat and Reader. This means that Adobe EchoSign will be the only cloud-based service platform that delivers both digital signatures and electronic signatures, meeting global regulatory compliance and high-security requirements where digital signatures are needed.

Digital Rights Management. Documents transacted through the EchoSign platform frequently contain sensitive and confidential information – be it Personally Identifiable Information (PII), Personal Health Information (PHI), pricing and deal terms, or salary information. The information contained in these documents must be secured throughout its lifespan to ensure that it does not get into the wrong hands. So today we are taking the document security offered by the EchoSign platform to a new frontier: we are announcing digital rights protection for all your PDF documents that are signed using EchoSign. With this new protection, your organization will be able to control access to your critical business documents after the documents have been signed, no matter where they are stored. We are able to deliver this capability thanks to the wide-spread adoption of Adobe Reader, which is used on more than 800 million devices worldwide. This new capability will let companies control and audit access to PDF documents already sent or downloaded, enable advanced watermarking, digitally “shred” expired documents, and more.

USER EXPERIENCE

EchoSign is the industry leader on ease of use. For example, EchoSign is 30 percent more efficient than the leading competitor. EchoSign has a net promoter score of 57, whereas the next-best leading competitor has a score of 53. (Source: Independent research across more than 290 active eSignature users, commission by Adobe, Sept. 2013).   And, Adobe EchoSign is the No. 1 rated eSignature solution by community users on the Salesforce.com AppExchange:

EchoSign Competitive Comparison

We are taking this to the next level with a deep bet on mobile and HTML5 experiences. Starting with the 6.7 release next month, we’re introducing a next-generation signing experience that is even easier to use. The UI will also feature new send and forms-authoring tools that support drag‐and-drop file upload, field templates, workflow templates, and redesigned document management and administrative pages. We’re also making forms more adaptable. With EchoSign, you’ll be able to create reusable form templates that include field definitions, locations and field properties that can be applied to any document. And, you’ll be able to make form field templates to place EchoSign signature fields on the document, as well as ensure the correct number of signers is applied to the document.

We’re also pushing the boundaries on mobile support. EchoSign is the only signature service to offer a widely deployed offline-signing solution for iOS. Based on customer feedback, we will be extending this unique capability to the Android platform as well as the PC and Mac OS environments through Adobe Reader.  So if you’re just signing a school permission slip or getting a multi-million dollar deal signed from your mobile device, EchoSign will continue to be the easiest solution out there.

NEXT-GENERATION CLOUD PLATFORM

Adobe EchoSign is deployed across multiple datacenters with full support for Disaster Recovery, PCI and HIPAA compliance, all housed in SSAE 16 Type 2 certified datacenters. We provide a uniquely global solution, supporting signers in more than 180 countries around the world. Today, we are announcing plans to deliver local datacenter support in both Europe and Australia in 2014, as well as our intention to enter Adobe EchoSign into the U.S. government’s FedRAMP certification program. Respectively, these are critical for organizations that require data sovereignty as well as the highest levels of cloud certification.  The majority of our customers are integrating EchoSign with existing business applications: Apttus, Box, eOriginal, Evernote, Salesforce.com, Microsoft Dynamics CRM and Office 365, NetSuite, Oracle, SAP, Xactly and more. We will be providing a deeper level of innovation across these integrations, and introducing powerful new REST API support as part of the 6.7 release for developers worldwide.

This is how eSigning should be – intuitive, ubiquitous, adaptable and secure, making business friction-free so you can close deals faster and more confidently. It should come from a vendor you trust. And it should work with your existing systems. We are excited to be investing in the future, and setting the standard for what an electronic signature platform should deliver.

Sign here, there, or anywhere with Adobe EchoSign

You can sign among the trees or on the beach with the breeze. Up on a mountain top, or while closing up the shop. With Adobe EchoSign, you can sign anywhere, anytime. Instantly send, e-sign, track and file documents securely online, so you can get business done faster and more efficiently with your customers and partners, and get ahead of the competition.

EchoSign’s Sign Anywhere video is the first part of a new campaign designed to show you how easily you can sign documents anywhere, like in Northern Maine or while visiting Spain. The possibilities are endless and made easy with EchoSign’s three different signing methods: a mouse or stylus, typing in a name and hitting “click to e-sign”, or faxing in a written signature.

Recipients may e-sign with their Facebook, LinkedIn or Google web accounts, and EchoSign will automatically capture a picture and URL link to their public web identity. Don’t have access to a computer? Signing on an iPhone, Blackberry, or most other mobile devices with a web browser is simple! No Internet connection? Good news- signing offline is possible with our iOS app! Finally, if you prefer to send and sign via the old-school fax machine, EchoSign automatically provides a fax cover sheet with instructions. Once faxed in, the signed document is filed in EchoSign and a copy of the document is sent to all parties.

“At EchoSign we know how important it is to be able to do business from anywhere,”   says Erin Curtis, Director of Marketing, Adobe EchoSign. “We are using this campaign to communicate that our e-signature solution allows customers to send or sign documents no matter where they are. The Process Behind Health Practice Perfection

CareCloud helps medical practices improve their workflows with innovative cloud-based digital apps. To improve its internal sales workflows, CareCloud turned to Adobe EchoSign and Salesforce.

Mobile-enabled contract management helps the company’s sales force process an average of 270 agreements each month with automated routing and e-Signatures. By integrating EchoSign with Salesforce and Conga, CareCloud can easily take advantage of features such as logic rules – which prevent errors that delay customers’ contracts – and customizable workflows, further simplifying the online signature and contracting process.

“We looked at competing products, but none balanced the usability and functionality of Adobe EchoSign. The simplified UI is incredibly easy to use, needing minimal training for staff to start sending contracts, says Juan Molina, director of business development at CareCloud.

Adobe EchoSign Takes Part in Keynote Panel for Apttus Accelerate 2013

This week Apttus hosted Accelerate 2013 in San Francisco. This aptly named Summit provided attendees with an array of dynamic events and sessions that took a deep dive into solutions that help accelerate the Quote to Cash cycle and further explore the role of new business technologies and processes. Attended by key decision makers in verticals from sales to legal operations, the Summit brought together notable industry leaders and specialists that provided unique insights and solutions to dramatically impact the bottom line. Speakers included some of the top names in the industry with high level executives from companies like Salesforce.com, Accenture and NASA, including Olympic Gold Medalist Johnny Moseley and Apttus Chairman and CEO Kirk Krappe.

On Monday, September 9, the keynote session was entitled A Brave New World — Creating the Future Together and was comprised of panel members that represented companies who have successfully helped other large and small enterprises move their business to SaaS based applications in the Cloud. These “Best of Breed” solution providers and featured panelists included Adobe EchoSign’s own Vice President, Jon Perera, accompanied by William Band, Analyst with Forrester, Scott Broomfield, CMO of Xactly, and Kamal Ahluwalia, CMO of Apttus, who moderated the panel.  As ‘ecosystem innovators and contributors’ to the Quote to Cash cycle (per Ahluwalia), each panelist was invited to share best practices for streamlining business to be more nimble and adept at adapting to industry change. Jon Perera noted that to do this is to first identify where the friction is within a business and work towards getting to a single version of the truth.

As the world continues to move to the Cloud, one of the implications of this transition is that organizations don’t have the same level of control that they once had. Since companies such as Adobe EchoSign and Xactly work with sensitive data and documents, they discussed the importance of privacy and security today, how to approach the subject with a challenging CIO as well as highlighted examples of customers who effectively manage and protect sensitive information.

A key point made by the panel was the fact that the Cloud can yield so many benefits that do impact the bottom line of business. For example, by using Adobe EchoSign with Apttus and the other tools referenced, businesses have been able to condense the signing process down from 32 days to two days, end-to-end to get agreements signed. This fact hit home with the audience as it was quickly shared and retweeted across social media and sparked new conversations at #ApttusAccelerate well into the evening.

“Apttus and Adobe are partnering to help enterprise companies increase revenues and improve deal velocity, so it was a pleasure to be part of the panel,” said Jon Perera, Vice President of Adobe EchoSign. “Today, too many companies are still printing and faxing contracts for signature. I encouraged the attendees to find the friction within their businesses processes, and to consider cloud solutions and electronic signatures to address those pain points.”

Stay tuned for the official video presentation of this panel discussion. It will be uploaded soon. Everybody Wants Streamlined E-Signatures at Foursquare

foursquare-logo (2)The Talent team at Foursquare has eliminated their manual, paper-based processes related to human resource management with streamlined, electronic signature workflows. Now, the rest of the social networking company is pushing to use the same tools.

Procedures such as employee onboarding have been greatly simplified with online document signing from Adobe EchoSign. Instead of printing, scanning, and transporting dozens of pages of print forms and documents, the company uses electronic documents. And by linking common fields, such as date of birth and Social Security number, new hires only need to fill out information once.

“With Adobe EchoSign, we’re leveraging templates to send paperwork in just a few clicks. The workflow is easy enough for all employees to pick up immediately, while still giving me the functionality to build out advanced use cases and scale to our needs,” says Talent operations manager, Matt Maimoni.

The Bottom Line of the Dotted Line

foxton logo (2)Automated contract management lets Foxtons real estate agents spend less time on administrative tasks and more time closing deals. Foxtons chose Adobe EchoSign because it has a user-friendly interface that helps anyone—buyers, sellers, and renters—sign documents online with ease.

“When dealing with multiple tenants, it could take two to three weeks for everyone to visit a Foxtons office and sign the contract—a delay that sometimes caused deals to fall through,” says IT director Dan Rafferty. “The ease and accessibility of Adobe EchoSign has helped us shorten the average signing time to less than one week.”

Adobe EchoSign helps Foxtons complete 900 rental agreements and 300 sales every month, and with mobile device enablement, clients can even e-sign contracts while waiting at the airport. With the new process, contracts have even closed in as little as seven minutes.

Accountants at Anton Collins Mitchell Stay on Track with E-Signatures

Anton-Collins-Mitchell_Logo (2)Client contracts must remain current, or it can interrupt the work of Anton Collins Mitchell LLP. To keep its business in motion, the Colorado accounting firm uses Adobe EchoSign to efficiently and securely obtain e-signatures and manage contracts.

ACM used to mail two hard copies to clients for signatures. But processing could be delayed for several reasons, such as misplaced documents or unavailable stakeholders. Adobe EchoSign eliminates these problems by automating the routing and tracking of documents and enabling online document signing from any device, in any location. Unlike the old manual method, the Adobe solution also provides clear audit trails showing when documents were delivered, opened, and signed.

“Once the papers left our hands, it became impossible to tell where contracts were or how soon they would be returned. Now, Adobe EchoSign gives us control over our workflow to help ensure up-to-date contracts,” says Jenni McLean, operations manager at ACM.

TiVo Sees Faster Authorization and Increased Visibility

TiVo_logo_2011_RGB_300dpi (2)It just got a lot easier to become an authorized TiVo retailer, thanks to Adobe EchoSign. Implementing a seamless electronic signature workflow has helped the home entertainment pioneer cut approval time from three weeks to only 72 hours.

“Leveraging the automation in Adobe EchoSign, we were able to remove days from our contract cycle time while increasing our control and visibility into the workflow and establishing clear audit trails for our internal records,” says Larry Denny, vice-president and associate general counsel at TiVo.

TiVo originally acquired Adobe EchoSign for legal contracts, but the company is using it to streamline internal and external operations throughout the company. For example, TiVo uses mobile capabilities in Adobe EchoSign to manage non-disclosure agreements. Visitors simply e-sign a tablet form when they check in at the office lobby, and the signed NDA is transmitted automatically to the legal department’s contract database.

Integrating Electronic Signatures with your Website or Software

Now, by adding electronic signatures to your own company’s website or software, you can streamline and better manage digital documents — both coming in to your workflow and being sent out from it. Adobe EchoSign allows you to integrate electronic signature capability to your existing website, blog, or software with ease. The integrated solution looks and functions as part of your own website while still providing the level of trust and confidence provided by Adobe EchoSign.

For Your Website

Adobe EchoSign features the easiest signing experience in the industry and the ability to instantly send, e-sign, track, and file documents securely online. If you run your own website or blog, all you need is the EchoSign widget. It allows you to post a document or PDF form for e-signature to any page on your website with just a single line of HTML. For example, you could create a form on your website that all your partners or vendors must fill out as part of your new partner or vendor onboarding process.

Once you have an EchoSign account, all you have to do is click “Create Widget” on your Home tab and upload a document or PDF form. Then we’ll work our magic and give you the HTML code you need to drop into your website automatically. It’s as simple as that.

Once the page is set up you can point people there, and we’ll do the rest. Moments after someone e-signs your document, you (and your signers) will be e-mailed a PDF copy – and a copy will automatically be placed in your EchoSign account.  EchoSign creates an easy to follow audit trail and file management system to make the process completely seamless in a fraction of the time.

For Applications

If you want to get more advanced and actually integrate EchoSign into your own web app, you can do that too. All you need is the EchoSign API.

Adobe EchoSign has prebuilt integration with CRM platforms such as Salesforce.com, Microsoft Dynamics CRM and document management systems such as Box and SharePoint – these integrations are built on the same set of API that we make available to you and your developers. For example if you wanted to incorporate electronic signatures into your financial database or with an open source CRM platform, EchoSign would provide you with a complete professional solution.

The Adobe EchoSign e-Signature Platform utilizes Web Services API for communication with external systems. Web Services is a standard, secure and scalable method of establishing communications between web-based services.

The Adobe EchoSign API requires every developer to have a unique API key allowing them to integrate their solution to EchoSign while applying EchoSign’s permission model to the data they can create or access.

If you want to get started with using our API, sign up for a free Developer Edition today.

Tulare County Sheriff’s Department Eliminates Paper Contracts with Adobe EchoSign

PatchWstateSeal2The Tulare County Sheriff’s Department in California’s Central Valley helps ensure public safety with 1,300 employees in 21 offices in an area roughly twice the size of Delaware. Half of the county is public land, including the Sequoia and KingsCanyon national parks and the Sequoia and Inyo national forests. The other half is the nation’s second-largest producer of agricultural commodities.

Old methods of signing documents and exchanging information—scanning, faxing, and emailing—were slow and unreliable. In fact, the department even relied on volunteer couriers to take hard copies from office to office. Such methods inhibited accurately tracking the status of documents such as personnel forms, policy authorizations, and purchase requisitions.

Adobe EchoSign gave us an efficient, accelerated workflow that helped us process more than 5,000 contracts in just over one year of use,” says the public information officer, Sergeant Chris Douglass. “We don’t deal with paper forms anymore. A requisitions request needs three signatures and a final copy delivered to the business office. With Adobe EchoSign, the forms can be completed by all signatories and the business office can receive a signed and secure PDF copy all in less than a minute.”

Using e-signatures to eliminate the need to handle physical forms has enabled Tulare County to boost efficiencies while cutting costs. Find out more about how Tulare uses EchoSign for contract management here.

kforce logo (2)Professional staffing frequently requires extensive documentation to verify and certify qualifications and licensures. In the fields of technology, health care, finance, and accounting, Kforce is a recognized leader in providing high-quality consultants and direct hire personnel.

However, complying with client and regulatory requirements is often extensive and time-consuming. Kforce vendor services supervisor Ryan Coyle says highly skilled positions can require more than 20 separate documents, including profile forms and standard contracts.

“Vendor documents are typically signed by two or three stakeholders,” he says. “In the past, documents would be filled out by hand and scanned or faxed multiple times—a process that took several days and often resulted in an illegible copy.”

Kforce created simple workflows using Adobe EchoSign, for emailing documents among stakeholders. They can access forms and add e-signatures online from any browser on any device. When completed, a clear, archive-ready electronic copy is automatically sent to stakeholders, which reduces errors and creates a more reliable archive of records.

It also saves time. Coyle says his team has dramatically reduced turnaround time for document signing and processing—from two business days to less than two hours.

Sunflower Electric Power Corporation Maintains Legal and Regulatory Compliance with the Help of Adobe EchoSign

sunflower logo (2)As a regulated utility, Sunflower Electric Power Corporation is routinely required to submit signed documents within strict deadlines. To meet these deadlines, the group administrator used to have to track down signatures, which was both difficult and time consuming, especially considering that Sunflower’s territory covers the western third of the state of Kansas.

By implementing Adobe EchoSign, Sunflower has helped create a seamless, automated workflow. Remote workers can sign documents online, electronically. And with the Mega Sign feature, a single document can be sent easily to thousands of recipients, and EchoSign automatically records each transaction and signed document.

“Mega Sign shows the power of Adobe EchoSign,” says Maree Percival, corporate services specialist for Sunflower electric Power Corporation. “We had an immediate need for all 400 employees to sign a policy update agreement in less than 20 days. People were on vacation, remote, busy with other things, and we still collected all e-signatures—with zero errors—on time.”

QA Automates the Training Process with Adobe EchoSign

qa logo (2)The leading professional business and technical training company in the United Kingdom wanted to simultaneously make it easier for customers to book courses and easier for its salespeople to generate contracts and collect electronic signatures. QA chose Adobe EchoSign to make it happen.

QA provides more than 1,500 business and technical courses to more than 500,000 attendees each year. To create a completely automated booking process, it implemented BAPS (Booking, Administration, and Prospecting System) from Fulcrum Software. By integrating BAPS and Adobe EchoSign, QA has created a seamless, easy-to-use experience. Sales staff can generate contracts, send forms, track document status, and view final copes of signed documents. By using e-documents and online signature technology, QA saves on postage and paper costs, and contract turnaround takes just minutes, not days.

“We’ve probably paid for Adobe EchoSign just in saved time and consumables,” says Hugh Cave-Jones business systems specialist at QA. “The Adobe EchoSign implementation has been incredibly successful, reducing work for sales staff while delivering a professional experience for customers.”

Franklin County, PA Eliminates the Hassle of Obtaining Multiple Signatures

FranklinCountyColorManaging economic development and public service in a growing county puts demands on government that can negatively affect efficiency and fiscal responsibility. In an effort to simplify its processes and cut costs, Franklin County, Pennsylvania has developed a paperless document solution that uses Adobe EchoSign, for electronic signatures.

Not long ago, Franklin County’s 57 departments required vendors and employees to submit documents in triplicate for approval by county officials. Consequently, officials were buried in paperwork with inefficient audit trails. Now employees submit electronic forms to the county’s Laserfiche document management system, which prompts them to submit contracts for e-signature through Adobe EchoSign.

“Adobe EchoSign automatically delivers contracts to all of the required stakeholders, no matter how many signatures we need,” says Ed Yonker, application software specialist at Franklin County. “EchoSign gives us a clear audit trail every step of the way, adding visibility into government processes and helping the County meet compliance regulations.”franklin county visual (2)

EchoSign automatically reminds officials about pending contracts and allows them to submit securely encrypted signatures from any device, including smart phones. By eliminating multiple paper copies, Franklin County saves money on printing, frees physical storage space, and enables a mobile workforce.

NewVoiceMedia Simplifies Contracting with Adobe EchoSign and Salesforce

NewVoiceMedia_Logo (2)Little efficiencies add up to big improvements at NewVoiceMedia.

The company specializes in cloud-based contact center solutions, which enable organizations to handle telephone-based customer service and sales calls using only the Internet and desktop computers. With business expanding to 30 countries on six continents, NewVoiceMedia determined that it needed to switch from paper contracts to online contract signing using Adobe EchoSign.

Both salesforce.com tools and Conga Composer integrate easily with Adobe EchoSign, which helps NewVoiceMedia issue contracts for e-signature with greater speed and fewer mistakes. In fact, NewVoiceMedia strategy director Bethany Ayers says it even helped close an upsell deal with a client who had been too busy to respond.

“Once we sent the contract through Adobe EchoSign, we got it back 15 minutes later because our client could just e-sign it with his iPhone,” she says.

Adobe EchoSign simplifies and streamlines the sales cycle by increasing the sales team’s productivity and improving customers’ experiences. It also makes life easier by helping prevent lost documents and allowing access at any time from any device.

“It’s more about how much faster we can get all our business in and closed as opposed to the efficiency of each individual deal,” Ayers says.

Lumension Security Automates Document Workflows with Adobe EchoSign

Lumension_Logo (2)Lumension Security, Inc. originally acquired Adobe EchoSign to capture e-signatures from its ecommerce website. But the company quickly learned it could transform document workflows throughout the organization.

Lumension specializes in endpoint security, which is increasingly important as companies allow their employees to use personal mobile devices on corporate networks. An international sales force supports clients worldwide. Sales representatives are responsible for signing several commission plans annually, all of which must be countersigned by managers. The old method of scanning, copying, and faxing documents among signees often generated illegible copies. With electronic document signing powered by Adobe EchoSign, copies route automatically.

“Before Adobe EchoSign, it could take days to obtain all of the signatures, but now plans can be returned in hours,” says Steve Poessnecker, director of business operations at Lumension.

Adobe EchoSign also streamlines workflows and boosts employee productivity by increasing visibility and tracking. Rather than chasing paper trails, team members can log into Adobe EchoSign and immediately view the status of any document, allowing them to identify and eliminate process bottlenecks.

Adobe Saves Thousands Across the Company Using Adobe EchoSign

Some of the happiest surprises here at Adobe are the results we realize from using our own products.

Our team members want performance, value, engagement, and experiences that make their jobs productive and rewarding, just like our customers. To make that happen, we’ve been encouraging teams throughout Adobe—such as sales, procurement, and people resources—to integrate Adobe EchoSign into their e-signature workflow.

EchoSign_instructions (2)

So far, the results have been spectacular:

  • Procurement has slashed $250,000 from its operating overhead
  • Vendor contract completion is three times faster
  • People resources has cut printing costs 80% and shipping costs by $35,000

Many of my colleagues are impressed at how well automating signature processes improves productivity while it cuts costs.  We also had a really easy time integrating EchoSign with our existing technology. The Adobe EchoSign API integrated with our legacy system in only three weeks, using only one analyst, one developer, and a few software QA people.

Workflow Selected

Our sales department uses Apttus enterprise contract management system (ECM), powered by Salesforce.com to manage nondisclosure agreements. The sales team can leverage EchoSign e-sign workflows within the ECM, generating clear audit trails to expedite workflows and verify the legality of agreements. The forthcoming companywide rollout and integration of ECM with Adobe EchoSign will make contracting even faster and more reliable.

Sign Offline, Anywhere, Anytime with Updated EchoSign iOS App

Getting a document signed may be the most important step in any business process. When you’re on the road, you want to be able to finish that last step whether you have access to the cloud or not. Not to worry. Today, Adobe is announcing an updated iOS app for the Adobe EchoSign e-signing offering that lets you or your customer e-sign contracts, agreements and other critical business documents offline, anywhere.

We’re also announcing today that we plan to open a new, multimillion dollar data center in Chicago to complement our Dallas facility to meet the growing demand for EchoSign and help increase performance and availability. It will come online this summer.

With today’s availability of the updated Adobe EchoSign for iOS version 2 app from the Apple store, EchoSign users can sign documents offline and automatically synchronize them back to the cloud on their iPads when they have network access. The updated app features a completely redesigned user interface for sending, signing and managing transactions that simplifies signing documents or getting documents signed in-person when sender and signer are co-located. Further, leveraging Adobe’s unique expertise in document processing, PDF rendering and intuitive user interface design, the iOS native signing interface has been optimized for touch interfaces and features high quality zoom and smooth navigation.

Improved_send_for_signa

We also beefed up the web version of Adobe EchoSign. The Spring 2013 release has some nifty new features that will make the processes of getting a document signed easier for you and your customers.

With real-time calculations you can now create “dynamic contracts” by building fields into your contracts for which values get automatically calculated based on a formula or rule. For example, using the real-time calculation function, if a customer changes the size or volume of a shipment within the contract, the price is automatically recalculated. Calculations can be based on form fields or other calculated fields and can include mathematical functions and/or conditional logic.

We also improved document readability with better image quality and performance through best in industry Adobe image processing libraries. Users can zoom in and out of a contract for better readability during signing and form field authoring.

Calculated_fields[1]

And because we know how important branding is, we added enhancements to our already customizable and easy signing experience to better align with your brand and business processes when getting documents signed.

These new features plus our new data center will help companies further reduce sales cycles, be more productive with their workflows and deliver an engaging user experience.

Be sure to try out the new iOS app and the cool new functions in Adobe EchoSign Spring 2013 release.

Mighty Deals Triples Weekly Offers by Streamlining Contracts

mighty deals_logo (2)Generating content every 24 hours is a must for “daily deal” businesses, so a manual client contract process that can take up to a week is a problem. That’s why Mighty Deals has implemented Adobe EchoSign.

The more deals Mighty Deals markets on its website in the United Kingdom, the more potential for revenue. So the company combined its Salesforce.com system with Adobe EchoSign to create consistent documentation and expedite its document signing and contracting process.

“Integrating EchoSign with Salesforce has dramatically boosted our productivity,” says Laurence Hall, Salesforce administrator at Mighty Deals. “With contracts signed in minutes instead of days, we’ve gone from publishing 40–50 deals per week to 120.”

Once the sales team enters information into Salesforce, one mouse click sends contracts to clients via Adobe EchoSign for electronic signature. Because many clients are repeat customers, new contracts can be delivered in seconds, enabling rapid turnaround. Plus, the integration of Adobe EchoSign and Salesforce automatically captures and updates records and data, enabling the sales team to focus on closing business.

Coffey International Development Simplifies Contracting Across the Globe

Coffey_logo (2)Promoting economic growth and creating conditions for sustainable development in remote parts of the world take a lot of planning and coordination. They also demand a lot of accountability when you’re doing it on behalf of government and donor agencies.

Coffey International Development provides technology, resources, and people for clients such as the United Nations, World Bank, United Kingdom’s Department for International Development, and United States Agency for International Development. Professionals from Coffey work with local consultants in more than 80 countries, where it manages roughly 190 projects. But an inefficient, paper-based process for contracting and signing documents could take weeks to complete.

“Without a signed contract, we can’t make logistical preparations like travel arrangements or enable consultants to begin projects. Delayed contracts delay the start of an entire project,” says Hannah Al-Katib, assistant manager of Coffey’s operations team. “Using Adobe EchoSign, we send contracts as easily as sending an email and have it returned in minutes.”

Funding organizations, like the UN and USAID, and local organizations in countries including Ghana, Afghanistan, Kosovo, and Sierra Leone, can have strict quality and security requirements. Automated contract management with Adobe EchoSign securely provides status updates and audit trails for all signed documents while it frees remote personnel to do their jobs.

“Adobe EchoSign is more than e-signatures—it’s changed the way that we work,” says Al-Katib. “We’re building stronger processes and creating efficiencies that improve results for our clients.”

Adobe EchoSign Summit Connects E-Signature Customers

While most organizations are making strides to eliminate paper from critical business processes, many still are reliant on paper-based agreements and contracts. At the Adobe EchoSign Summit, we brought e-signature thought leaders, customers, and legal experts together to discuss how organizations are leveraging web contracting to drive revenue, reduce costs, and reduce environmental impact.

Adobe EchoSign is committed to promoting web contracting and electronic signatures in a variety of industries.  The Summit took current and potential customers through exactly how e-signatures can reduce contract cycles, increase mobility of their workforce, and ultimately save cost.

BK9YA7lCQAIP15t

Daniel Sieff said. “EchoSign turns an ordinary contract into a living, breathing document.” Sieff, Director of Information Technology at LivingSocial, explained how to champion a web contracting initiative in your own company.  The benefits can speak for themselves, but we all know that there are always those resistant to change.  Sieff brought us some best practices and demonstrations that demystified the process of eliminating paper contracts from your workflow.

This event wasn’t just for people brand new to the concept, though. Paul Hirner, Partner at ThinkSmart, showed the audience how to truly integrate the e-signing process into their current business processes.  He explained that ThinkSmart, an EchoSign services partner, can allow you to expand your business model to be much more personalized and optimized to meet your business goals.

Audience members also got to hear from companies like Citrix, Google, New York Stock Exchange (NYSE), and Viacom about how e-Signatures worked for them.  In this case study panel, customers across industries and job functions provided tips and tricks on best practices to implementing e-signatures in their respective organizations. This was a great opportunity for potential customers to ask the questions that matter most to them, and hear an honest response from peers.

“It was inspiring to watch current customers talk to future customers about their experiences with Adobe EchoSign.  My favorite quote: ‘no it wasn’t a hard sell to convince my sales team to adopt EchoSign – as a technology company it was just embarrassing that we were using paper contracts.”” Said Erin Curtis, Director of Marketing at Adobe EchoSign.

Say Media Powers through Legal Documents with Adobe EchoSign

saymedia

Can you stretch one lawyer far enough to cover 100 million readers a month? Say Media did by using Adobe EchoSign.

Say Media is the Internet publishing and advertising company behind fashion, technology, and lifestyle websites like xoJane, ReadWrite, Dogster, and The Kitchn. Between advertisers and editorial contributors, Say Media handles dozens of waivers, agreements, and contracts each day. That might be too much for some lawyers, but Say Media associate general counsel Jason Crain can tackle it all with help from Adobe EchoSign.

“EchoSign creates automated workflows that dramatically reduce the amount of hands-on work for Say Media,” he says. “Through increased efficiency and productivity, we’re able to grow our business without increasing our overhead.”

Crain drafts templates, which are tagged and uploaded to Adobe EchoSign, where other users can customize them and distribute them for electronic signature. When signed copies are returned, they are automatically forwarded to the company’s legal department, where Crain can use simple email tools for archiving or forwarding them for additional work. Say Media is also integrating Adobe EchoSign with its Salesforce.com tools to automate contracting for advertisements.

“By reducing the amount of time spent on data entry, we enable sales staff to focus on achieving more contacts and making more sales,” Crain says.

Stonehenge Partners Streamlines Leasing with Adobe EchoSign

In the fiercely competitive rental market of New York City, time is critical. That’s why Stonehenge Partners created an end-to-end leasing process powered by Adobe EchoSign’s electronic signature solution.

Stonehenge is distinguishing itself from the competition by using technology to provide current and prospective tenants with better service. The company manages more than 3,200 apartments and 750,000 square feet of retail, office, and garage space. Renters apply through a system leveraging the Salesforce.com platform and Conga Composer generates lease documents with Adobe EchoSign e-signature fields. The Adobe EchoSign workflow helps leasing agents distribute documents and collect required signatures online with greater ease. By leasing properties more quickly, Stonehenge makes more money.

“Each day that an apartment stays in our portfolio is a loss of rental income,” adds Jonathan Fishman, Director of Business Development. “Moving to an electronic workflow reduces the amount of time apartments stay unoccupied, so as a result, we have increased revenue by thousands of dollars per month in the aggregate.”

Besides being faster and more convenient, tenants benefit from increased personal security. Adobe EchoSign automatically removes private information from documents sent to multiple recipients. Learn more about how Adobe EchoSign helps Stonehenge Partners and its tenants here.

EchoSign releases EchoSign for Salesforce Version 13!

Fresh off our fifth straight Salesforce AppExchange Customer Choice Award, the team has been busy updating Salesforce’s top eSignature app, and we are proud to announce that Adobe EchoSign for Salesforce version 13 is available today. The new tools address several areas from collaboration to onboarding to signer verification to help companies further reduce sales cycles and be more productive with their workflows.

With this release, we added a new powerful integration with Salesforce Chatter to help groups stay up to date and collaborate to close more deals faster. With Chatter, you can now receive updates when agreements are sent, viewed, and signed or when reminders are sent among other things.

You can also now include an approver role within the document workflow as well. For example, you can send a sales quote over to your VP of Sales for approval first and, once approved, EchoSign will automatically route the document out to your customer for signature. We’ve also made improvements to optimize document workflows. Your team can automatically, with a click of a button, send a document for signature which attaches a Quote PDF or uses custom contacts from an Opportunity in Salesforce. That makes sending an agreement for signature effortless.

Signer identity is another area we addressed by offering two new ways to authenticate signers. One is through knowledge-based authentication (KBA), where the signer proves their identity by answering questions taken from public and commercial databases. This is similar to how you would verify your identity when obtaining your credit report and is especially important for sensitive documents or more stringent workflows. In addition, signers can verify themselves using a third-party Web service such as Google, LinkedIn, or Facebook.

We’ve also made it easier and faster to get new users up and running even faster with a new step-by-step wizard that walks the Salesforce administrator through the setup process.

Adobe EchoSign for Salesforce drives the eSignature capabilities in Salesforce to the next level and makes it even easier for you to close deals faster in the cloud! Learn more by registering for an upcoming webinar: May 15th, 11am ES or May 15th, 2pm ES.

TRC Staffing Cuts Recruiting Time in Half with Adobe EchoSign

TRC Staffing Services helps companies respond quickly and flexibly to changing business needs without excessive head count or unnecessary legal exposure. But with intense competition, speed and efficiency are critical to the success of TRC. Because TRC needs tools that help it vet candidates faster than its rivals, CIO John Clifford selected Adobe EchoSign.

“When we just handed candidates papers to fill out in our offices, it was difficult to get fully completed documents returned in a timely manner because often times the candidate would forget pertinent information at home,” he explains. “We implemented Adobe EchoSign to expedite the hiring process by managing documents more quickly and efficiently.”

With dozens of offices in 14 states, TRC’s hub-and-spoke paper process—in which branches sent physical documents to the corporate office—was prone to error and delay. After implementing Adobe EchoSign, candidates could complete forms and e-sign at any computer, guided by required and restricted fields that improved document accuracy. Completed forms are emailed automatically to the corporate office. Clifford estimates it cut the time in half it would have taken TRC to place more than 100 workers at 20 locations for one client.

“Adobe EchoSign isn’t just making our lives easier,” he says, “it’s helping our candidates and customers as well.”

Penton Media Saves Time with Online Contracting from Adobe EchoSign

In addition to writing every ad insertion contract by hand, members of the sales team at Penton Media then had to manually track down hundreds of client signatures every month. It was a lengthy, inconsistent, and challenging process overall.

Penton is a B2B publishing company with dozens of titles and more than nine million subscribers to print and web publications. More than 1,000 employees are working to close ad insertion orders at any given time. By implementing Adobe EchoSign for automated web-based contract management, Penton has trimmed the order creation and execution process from weeks to just minutes.

“With Adobe EchoSign, our insertion order forms are automatically populated with information in Salesforce, and we can see when the order was created, sent and viewed by the client,” says Jarrod Kingston, Penton’s business systems manager. “EchoSign is also integrated with Conga, which makes the generation and mail merge of contracts very simple for all of the users.”

The dashboard in Adobe EchoSign also lets the sales and executive teams at Penton track agreements, see how long it takes to complete contracts, and forecast opportunities. By automating the process and integrating it with other tools, Adobe EchoSign improves ad placement and revenue because the company can collect an e-signature, complete a contract and start a campaign almost immediately.

“Adobe EchoSign has streamlined the entire operational spectrum from creation to submission to the order/billing department,” Kingston says. “This has been a huge improvement.”

Adobe EchoSign Customer Snapshot: St. Paul Federal Credit Union

St. Paul Federal Credit Union may have only three branches in Minnesota’s capital city, but that doesn’t mean it’s not a full-service financial institution for its members. For those without convenient access to a brick-and-mortar branch, St. Paul Federal Credit Union turned to Adobe EchoSign to enable secure eSignatures.

“We realized we could save members time and money by moving to electronic loan documents,” says Chris Petersen, the credit union’s director of technology.

In search of a balance between security and convenience, St. Paul Federal Credit Union combined its thoughtful security policies with the security and encryption features in Adobe EchoSign. When members request a loan, for example, the credit union generates the appropriate PDF files and uploads them to Adobe EchoSign. Members can then access encrypted, password-secured documents from any web browser. Plus, embedded tags simplify the application process by showing members exactly where to sign.

Adobe Study: Is Paper Now On The Endangered Species List?

New research unveiled today by Adobe Systems Incorporated (Nasdaq:ADBE) reveals important new insights from U.S. managers around digital business processes and paper.  According to the study, “Paper: An Endangered Species? the majority of the managers surveyed had overwhelmingly negative attitudes toward traditional paper-based processes and cite productivity, security, attracting talent and going green as the benefits of a completely digital workflow. The research is based on interviews with 1,051 U.S. managers in small, medium and large businesses.

Below are a few stats from the report:

  • 51% of respondents said that a digital workflow makes filing and managing documents easier;
  • 98% of respondents noted they still use paper in their transactions involving contracts;
  • More than two-thirds believe that paper-based contracts are prone to defacing;
  • 76% of respondents said they are impressed by companies that have a strong digital presence;

The data points referenced above come from a study commissioned by Adobe, produced by research firm Edelman Berland and conducted as an online survey among 1,051 U.S. managers who draft, send or sign contracts and agreements at small, medium and large companies. The margin of error for this study (n=1,051) is +/- 3.1%. The survey was fielded between Wednesday, January 30, 2013 and Friday, February 8, 2013.

Adobe EchoSign Customer Snapshot: NYC University Physicians Network

Successfully managing busy physician practices requires working closely with a wide range of insurance providers—which gets increasingly complicated as the number of physician providers and patients grows.

University Physicians Network (UPN) is a multispecialty medical group with 1,600 doctors who work at  many of the leading hospitals and clinics in and around New York City, including the prestigious New York University Medical Center. UPN’s doctors serve patients covered by 20 insurers that regularly require contract review and approval. In the past, that meant printing contracts, mailing them to physicians, and submitting signed contracts to insurers. The process could take weeks.

With Adobe EchoSign, UPN automated the process without the need for special software or accounts. With only email and web access, signees can securely view and sign documents in just minutes.

“Adobe EchoSign completely eliminates document preparation for incredible time and cost savings. Instead of printing out 40-page contracts and shipping them to physicians, we can start the application process with a click of a button,” says Matt Penziner, senior director of managed care at UPN.

Physicians simply sign documents in Adobe EchoSign, which are then sent to UPN and insurers for review. Countersigned copies are then automatically forwarded to the proper contacts.
