This was an excellent tutorial – I think I learned more in the 15 minutes watching this video than i did for the 3-4 hours I worked with my Elements trial. This may be the wrong place to ask (so edit if you need to) – Does fireworks work the same way?
Is this tutorial still applicable today? Very useful but so much has changed within Adobe products I wonder if this still relevant. thanks adobe!

This tutorial is very relevant and applicable. I use the things covered in it almost everyday and I still do things the way they are taught in this tutorial. But just be aware that if your using Photoshop CS4 or CS5 the tool set is a bit different so it won’t look the same as Elements. And MWT Chris, some of this does work the same in fireworks, but again the tool set is a bit different.
