If you spent the last year living under a rock and never heard of iBeacons, it’s simple — they are small transmitters that advertise their location to nearby devices using Bluetooth Low Energy and developers can leverage dedicated SDK‑s to add some location-aware features to their mobile applications.

The goal of this adaptTo() session is to discuss different applications of iBeacons and how it relates to other technologies like NFC, GPS or RFID. I will also demonstrate some ideas for iBeacons support in AEM and other Adobe Marketing Cloud solutions. Most of the ideas are connected to the mobile apps authoring introduced in AEM 6.0 and come from our recent POC‑s for the customers in the hotel and media industry. The demo part of the session will focus on extensions to Client Context and Target components and include a mobile app built with AEM, delivering different experiences based on the physical location of the user.

I’m looking forward to getting in your proximity at adaptTo()!
