We’ve all done it — clicked the “play” but­ton, cycled through related con­tent, and 30 min­utes later found our­selves won­der­ing where the time went.

Do you remem­ber the first cou­ple of videos that got your atten­tion? In my case, they were always strik­ing, unique, funny, and had a pow­er­ful sound­track. We remem­ber videos because they tell a story, and engage our senses. The abil­ity to cre­ate that lin­ger­ing mem­ory is powerful.

Now that tech­nol­ogy has begun to enable high qual­ity video pro­duc­tion at lower costs, and cus­tomers have become our best advo­cates by shar­ing videos within their social net­works, we are see­ing the pro­lif­er­a­tion of video con­tent across chan­nels and indus­tries. Video is no longer optional, but an essen­tial tool for busi­nesses to remain com­pet­i­tive and rel­e­vant to their customers.

At Adobe, we are excited to announce that our Scene7 prod­uct, has been rec­og­nized as a Strong Per­former in “The For­rester Wave™: Online Video Plat­forms, Q1 2013”, by For­rester Research, Inc. Adobe received the high­est score pos­si­ble in the areas of dif­fer­en­ti­a­tion and roadmap, video edit­ing fea­tures, player cus­tomiza­tion, exten­si­bil­ity and scal­a­bil­ity. Specif­i­cally noted was the end to end Adobe video solu­tion from con­tent cre­ation to man­age­ment to ana­lyt­ics and opti­miza­tion. It is great to have what we con­sider to be val­i­da­tion of the work we are doing from an inde­pen­dent research firm.

When I see the unique imple­men­ta­tions of video across indus­tries, from brand and com­mu­nity out­reach projects, to edu­ca­tional and instruc­tional videos, to prod­uct intro­duc­tions and reviews, I am amazed at the inge­nu­ity and reach that the plat­form offers our customers.
