About This Blog

My name is Francis Cheng (linkedin profile), and I'm a technical writer for Adobe's Flash Platform team. I spent the early 1990s in law school and the latter part of that decade working in public interest law, first for the Public Interest Clearinghouse and later for the National Health Law Program.

I started working for Macromedia back in Fall 2000 as an engineer on the Flash authoring tool before I moved over to the documentation team in Spring 2004. Currently I work on the Text Layout Framework and on updating the ActionScript 3.0 Language Specification.

My intent with this blog is to talk about some of the issues I'm working on and share some of the resources I come across in my research.
