Flash Player does not work with Internet Explorer 8 64bit and I also have problems with Adobe programers not working with Windows 7 64bit, but Photoshop and all native 64 bit programs works great.

[DR - I'm not an expert around the Flash player, but as I've said elsewhere, 64-bit is a question of when and not if. We'll definitely get there.]

I am using a 64-bit system and Adobe causes all kinds of problems. In addition, my broadband (verizon) recommends using that miserable Flash Player. Verizon has a link to download Player 8 and it NEVER does - it immediately downloads FP 10 and we are back to the races....IE, Verizon neither one seem compatible. Does Adobe care?

[DR - Diane, what 64bit system are you using? Also, FP is the current based on the adobe.com link, so verizon's link just points to ours which is automatically the latest.

Yes, we do care, but you need to explain a little more about what your problem is.]

Why have you decided to go out of business? Seriously we need 64 bit compatibility with YouTube and other poplular sites. Help us so your company can continue. Don't become the mindset, "it don't work." If you do and we CAN continue to perform, we will give you a reputation of "CAN DO" rather than "Look elsewhere!" Hope you succeed.

[DR - I'm not getting this, sorry... 64bit provides greater performance for applications. Youtube doesn't care what kind of an OS it needs other than having enough bandwidth to stream the file. Please explain if you have a question. Thanks.]

One thing that is important to point out is that, while 32-bit software can run on 64-bit OSs using emulation, hardware can not. This means that you will need 64-bit drivers for any hardware that you want to use with your Adobe application. This is a problem primarily with video capture cards. You will need 64-bit drivers for these boards. So far only a few manufacturers have released them.

The real question in my mind is when will Premiere and AE become true 64-bit applications?

[DR - Reynold, good points about the hardware. We have seen Matrox embrace 64bit but outside of that, I think it's probably iffy. I think they'll all come along though if my basic premise is correct that 64bit is the future.

For Adobe, 64bit is a question of 'when' not 'if.' In the meantime, Premiere and After Effects both get the greatest benefit of 64bit today, namely more addressable memory. Thanks for your comments.]
