Well I have praticed and practiced your video instruction. I have it pretty good at the moment.
The one question I have is do you nest all the comps into one before rendering?
you have floor comp, your show comp, slate and final comp.
do you drag each one into final comp then render quea?
floor comp is the only one that shows all the other comps and what it will look like.

[DR - The only thing you need to render is the final, finished composition. Hit ctrl/cmd - M to put it into the Render Cue and then create the output you desire. If you get in a jam there (and in my opinion, that is the place to get lost), post another comment along with your desired output type and I will try to help you. Thanks for taking the time to write.]

Once you are happy with how your planes of glass are going to animate on screen, drag our Glass Setup 1 comp into top layer of the Render-Comp. Now go to the Layer menu and add a new Adjustment Layer. Call this adjustment layer ADJUST-1. Put the ADJUST-1 layer BELOW the Glass Setup 1 layer. Set the Track Matte for the ADJUST-1 layer to Alpha. See, what this is doing is telling after effects to only apply the effects that at we will put on the ADJUST-1 layer, where the solids on the Glass Setup 1 layer are.

I DO NOT EXSPECT THIS TO BE POSTED BUT CAN YOU HELP ME UNDERSTAND THE ABOVE PLEASE?

I DO NOT UNDERSTAND THE DRAG OR HOW IN THIS PROGRAM.

DO I DRAG IT DOWN INTO THE AREA TO THE LEFT OF THE TIMELINE?

[DR - Yes, to drag and drop in After Effects, you can click and hold on an item and drag it into the timeline. It's that simple. If you're still in a jam, put another comment here with specifics and I'll try to help you out. Welcome to AE, it's a world of fun!]
