Let’s now install this easy-to-use movie editing software and start exploring how to turn everyday videos into memorable home movies. This blog post teaches you to install the software on both Windows and Mac operating systems. You can refer to this article for installing Adobe Premiere Elements from a downloaded version or a DVD.
Let’s start and install the software.
You need:
- A copy of Adobe Premiere Elements
- A serial key for activating the product (Not required if you are installing the trial version)
- An up and running computer that adheres to these system requirements
Installing Adobe Premiere Elements on Windows
To install Adobe Premiere Elements on your Windows computer, follow these steps:
- If you have downloaded the software, navigate to the folder where the software has been downloaded. Or If you have purchased a disk, insert the installer DVD.
- Navigate to the folder containing the setup.exe file. Double-click the setup.exe file.

- Select the language for the installation. The choices that are displayed depend on the software you purchased.
- Select English (United States) and click OK if you want to install the English (U.S.) version. The Installer launches and prepares the Installation.
- The installer setup confirms that you are about to install the software. Click Next.
- The software license agreement is displayed. Read the agreement and click Accept to continue.
- In the next screen, fill the following customer information:
- User name: Enter a user name
- Select the Country/Region in which you live: Select from the drop-down list.
- Select the installation choice: Select from:
- Install the trial version: Select this option to install and try the software.
- I have a serial number. Install the licensed version: Select this option to install the purchased product and enter the serial number you have obtained while purchasing.
- To launch the software, go to Start > All Programs > Adobe Premiere Elements 11 or double-click the launch icon from the desktop.
- Click Video Editor to start editing movies in the workspace or click Organizer to start importing your media (photos and videos) to your computer.
Installing Adobe Premiere Elements on Mac
To install Adobe Premiere Elements on your Mac computer, follow these steps:
- If you have downloaded the software, navigate to the folder where the software has been downloaded. Or If you have purchased a disk, insert the installer DVD.
- Navigate to the folder containing the AdobePremiereElements.dmg file. Double-click the AdobePremiereElements.dmg file.
- The. dmg package is extracted. Click Adobe Premiere Elements 11 to start the installation.
- Click Install to start the installation.
- The software license agreement is displayed. Read the agreement and click Accept to continue.
- In the next screen, enter the following customer information:
- Provide a serial number: Enter the serial number obtained while purchasing the software.
- Install this product as a trial: Select this option to install and try the software.
- Click Install to start the installation.
- A confirmation message is displayed. You can now start using the software.
- To launch the software, go to Go > Applications or double-click the launch icon.
Note: Click Date Modified to view the recently installed applications if you have trouble finding Adobe Premiere Elements.
- Click Video Editor to start editing movies in the workspace or click Organizer to start importing your media (photos and videos) to your computer.
